Had the pleasure of seeing Distinguisher, Orthodox, Boundaries, and Varials playing a show here last year my second time visiting my sister in Philly and this venue went down as one of if not my single favorite place I’ve been to see a concert. The energy in this church basement is absolutely insane it’s such a beautiful thing to see. I can’t wait to come back one day hopefully soon.
It's the 1st Unitarian church if I'm not mistaken . I grew up in and around philly but havent seen the scene in years due to having to move to albuquerque. But that stage carpet looks like 1st Unitarian church, center city.

Feelin that speech. My first hardcore show ever was Vision of Disorder @ Sea Sea's in Moosic PA, 1996 when they dropped their first album. I was a 13 year old kid and I've never seen such chaos before haha. The place had a pretty low ceiling for a venue and there were literally people hanging from the rafters just kicking people. Anyway I was cautiously standing at the back of the crowd when this dude came rushing this poor girl out of the crowd, she got her face kicked in and looked like her eye socket was pretty much shattered. That image will forever be imprinted in my brain.
I can bigtime respect that Code Orange are trying like hell to unite all the scenes and lift people the F Up. They using all their energy to ignite energy in everyone else. Pretty sick. They gunna develope camps of fanatics all over theplace. They still getting bigger .
I dunno man... all the European tours I've been on, plus my all my friends bands over the years touring Europe, Spain etc etc etc. .. they eat up the music bigtime. They seem to have a desire for live shows since less bands from around the world get exposurethere. the shows are berzerk and the people are so supportive of merch and talking with the bands. America is phenomenal too, I'm just saying. .
The quiet dude who plays guitar and keyboards full time nows voice is the most badass and brutal sounding. His vox during the breakdowns esp during my world sounds so awesome. He should do vox more often or on a full time bases. The combination of his vox along w the drummers vox is an awesome combination. Dont really care for the chicks screams. Surprised she hasnt hurt her throat or lost her voice lol. Her clean vox on the other hand esp in her and the drummers other band when she actually sings no screaming sounds amazing.
I understand Jami is also on vocals, but I wish he'd keep the macho tough guy rants to a minimum between breakdowns and shit. Let the heaviness speak for itself. The rants take them down a few notches in my opinion.
Yeah it is frustrating. Jami's drumming was improved on the new album, and his lyrics are actually quite good when he isn't trying to appeal to edgy kids, and Reba and Eric are both really talented. If Jami could just focus on managing their talents so they don't clash while dropping the tough guy antics this band would be really special instead of just interesting.
For real though, i hate it when bands do that. Can you imagine josh scogin from the chariot doing that shit during the feedback break on "and shot each other"? Not only is it cringey but it makes those transitions between loud and quieter moments so much less impactful
No it isn't. Those are the type of fucking pussies I used to knock out in pits... "Moshing" isn't fucking hitting and kicking and each other and throwing elbows around like a basketball court for fuck sake.
Holy shit the comment section is open. In that case, Code Orange fucking rocks! Thanks for the footage!

Everybody on stage in the beginning looks like they're getting a stern lecture from their friend's dad
Its because a girl got her jaw dislocated at a Code Orange show because some troglodyte wore steel toed boots targeted her and kicked her right in the jaw
Yeah, it's not funny as it sounds. Got scolded by my friend's dad once when I was in grade school. The stuff of nightmares.
right! hahaha
