it just started with photoshop, but within a few minutes of this video I was able to animate a very simple black and white paper, falling down as the wind blows, I'm so happy about it!!!
Seriously, you've no idea how these videos are helping me, I'm a Graphic Designer and only upon graduating I thought; 'I should've been an illustrator/animator.' So impressed that you ACTUALLY animate in an old skool way with new skool tools. Salutes and many thanks, I'll send you a link when I get to that point. TY Olof. Amazing Work
stumbled across this and immediately i knew i had to break out the cintiq and follow along. one of the most killer tutorials i’ve seen, you move at the perfect pace and it’s perfectly set so we can do whatever we want for our own animations with a solid base. Never really given animation a shot cuz how complex it seems to set up but this 100% changed my mind and got me excited. (i blame you fully for when my girl inevitably gets “mad” at me for spending too much time messing with this stuff)
Thank You so much for sharing your workflow. I really got inspired to animate 2d- characters on photoshop after watching your works. Thanks for putting in your precious time to teach people like me and help us get comfortable with the software.
This has got to be one of the best process explanation videos I have ever come across. So clear. Might convert an animate cc user like myself to photoshop!
Thank God for showing how to duplicate frames. I haven't touched Photoshop animation in awhile and couldn't remember how to do it in a video layer, no tutorial I watched covered this. Thank you.
Dude, thanks! I'm in a Technical school, and I really wanted to make an animation for the class. It came out great, teacher said I'm "Six steps ahead from the rest"
Thank you for your help! Your tutorial is the first one I've ever seen, as I've never animated before, so can say you've done a great job explaining things and helping this learning process be manageable rather than overwhelming.
Wow. This is a fantastic tutorial. Thank you for going through this thoroughly and outlining the ways you can use video layers vs. standard layers. You're a lifesaver!
I am trying to learning animation and as PS is my the favourite and most comfortable softwere to use , your guidelines was life saver and blessing . Thank you
You've been a great inspiration and I was able to post my first rough animation test! I can't draw like you, so I did rotoscoping, but thanks for giving me the inspiration to even try 2d animation.
Such a nice video. I was scared of learning Photoshop, just because I'm so used to Clip Studio but you are a very good teacher and I feel more confident now! Thank you!
Why is this so much better than my digital media class I took in highschool XD So helpful. I can see how you can use the video and layer methods for going between story boards and the more polished piece
Thanks for this! I've been using photoshop for a while now but mostly staying within a very narrow set of tools, and when looking to expand my knowledge, videos like this are extremely helpful. 🍻
So helpful! I'd been running into problems using exclusively video layers for pose to pose, but I didn't even think of using your method of stacked image layers. Thanks a lot!
PS the icons in the bottom left allow you to access much settings as well. It also allows you to scrub, change from frame to time, set timeline type, change length. Many options without going into a menu
By far, this has to be the best tutorial on RUclips for creating animations in photoshop! Thanks for sharing. This covered everything I was looking for and more! Earned a sub from me for sure! 🙌🏼
Awesome tutorial! I planned to make short video using your technique for my highschool graduation's memories next semester. I hope it'll going well. Thank you for sharing ✌

I just wanted to let you know, that there is a good chance that you might have changed my life for the better, forever, I hope I will have the power and the heart to go down the path I choose, thank you for sharing your knowledge with everyone ♥
This is the best tutorial I've seen anywhere, showing how to use Photoshop for 2D animation. No plug ins needed. And pretty short. Thankyou SO MUCH.
it just started with photoshop, but within a few minutes of this video I was able to animate a very simple black and white paper, falling down as the wind blows, I'm so happy about it!!!
