When people ask me why I work out I blatantly tell them for aesthetic purposes. My main reasons are strength, longevity, and mental health, but the aesthetic is HIGHLY important 😂

For myself I've found that training upper body has made a way bigger difference to my physique, but thats gonna depend on what you're starting with. I already had fairly muscular legs that basically just get 'firmer' when I'm exercising regularly and softer when I'm not, but my upper body transformed when I started lifting. That said if you're starting out on the skinnier side you might see a huge difference by training lower body.
Dr. Mike and Dr. Chrystle just absolutely destroyed and self consciousness I had left about my huge muscular calves that I’ve been teased about all my life. Hell yeh. You two rock.

Nah I don't appreciate a really muscular upper body on a woman. By the way I love independent, intelligent and hard working women, I just want femininity in the upper body along with it. I'm not 'intimidated' or whatever, I'm a tall 240lb athlete, I just don't prefer thick traps and arms. Ideal physique on a woman for me is a longer term dancer, yogi or pilates coach + 6 - 12 months of a glute/ham specialization routine.

The only thing different might be the use of dumbells for chest exercises becuase the bar path might be limited by the female anatomy. But cambered bars can also be used.

As a guy, I've found that after going to the gym regularly and putting on muscle, I kinda get turned off by skinny arms. It doesn't look as healthy to me. Maybe because the body part of mine I 'mire the most are my own arms lol
Peak couple goals is being able to bench, deadlift, and squat each other. If youre a man and you cant do all three with your girlfriend/wife you aren't trying hard enough, and if they can bench, deadlift, and squat you then you are winning at life. Absolute peak couple goals.

I live in the tropics so there is no "summer bodies are made in the winter BS here". Bikini day is every day. The only thing on your list I don't train is arms because I spend a ridiculous amount of time opening coconuts with a machete, so they get trained outside of the gym.
I mean I was a paramedic and literally had to lift a lot of really heavy folks - referencing the thick thighs save lives. I did have the opportunity to help save a lot of lives over the years
As far as I know, most Bikini competitors do minimal direct hamstring work (beside RDLs) because smaller hamstrings makes their butt pop out more because its not blending in with a big hamstring. I hear Bret Contreras preaching this too.
Strange. Good hams complement a good butt imo. It just looks off if you have a good butt but skinny hams. It might be different for posing competitors though since they want to follow the standards. The competing women don't even look women, let alone s*xy. A lot of fat is lost in glutes due to cutting hard so less ham training makes more sense for them.
I think if you have “bad” butt genetics that’s true but when you have great glute/hip genetics that’s incorrect. Seen it plenty myself. By bad I mean - narrow hips, violin hips or hip dips, no thigh gap Good - very wide & round hips, big thigh gap (usually comes with small waist).
I'm proud of Dr. Mike for sitting next to a woman without crying. That takes a lot of courage.

Avoid any exercise that increases intra-abdominal pressure. Need to "brace your core" for a particular exercise? Avoid that exercise while pregnant.
Been wanting to know more about this too. All this talk about breathing exercises for the transverse abdomina but no one mentions studies about it

As a guy, I've found that after going to the gym regularly and putting on muscle, I kinda get turned off by skinny arms. It doesn't look as healthy to me. Maybe because the body part of mine I 'mire the most are my own arms lol
I agree. I think having jacked arms is underrated for giving the illusion of a smaller waist

I started training during one of the toughest times of my life, just to be able to get through the week. Mental health is still my number one reason. I'm still not lean at all, but I look much better than before for sure, lost weight, so it boosted my confidence quite a bit :)

I live in the tropics so there is no "summer bodies are made in the winter BS here". Bikini day is every day. The only thing on your list I don't train is arms because I spend a ridiculous amount of time opening coconuts with a machete, so they get trained outside of the gym.

As far as I know, most Bikini competitors do minimal direct hamstring work (beside RDLs) because smaller hamstrings makes their butt pop out more because its not blending in with a big hamstring.

Strange. Good hams complement a good butt imo. It just looks off if you have a good butt but skinny hams. It might be different for posing competitors though since they want to follow the standards.
The competing women don't even look women, let alone s*xy. A lot of fat is lost in glutes due to cutting hard so less ham training makes more sense for them.
I think if you have “bad” butt genetics that’s true but when you have great glute/hip genetics that’s incorrect.

By bad I mean - narrow hips, violin hips or hip dips, no thigh gap
Good - very wide & round hips, big thigh gap (usually comes with small waist).
@@AK_Catholic_Traditional narrow hips give a tapered waist. They didn't even add wellness (wide hips) until recently.
