DD2 needs a number of tweaks still. People have said how great it was about the sphinx and the 1st seaker token riddle but being level 62 and having that issue and trying to get NPCs to part with skills and specializations just wasn't working for me so I started from scratch again. They only allowed a new game to be created while 1 already existed with the latest update. So even if I wanted to go back to my 1st playthrough I can't now. Ernesto, btw, never showed for me no matter what time of day it was so timed quests should maybee have a countdown clock
I've put in around 40 hours on ps5 and the only complaint I have is the pop in. But that seems to be on any platform. I only really see a dip in performance if I have 1-2 mages casting a big ass iceberg on the battlefield
In the same vein. There are some really impressive graphical things going on (even on PS5). When the sun is setting or rising, you can see it over the horizon/mountains casting a shadow in real time. And I found that the pop in was only egregious if I ever used a ferry stone to the main city area. When I walk there after a long session of exploring the world, it’s usually fine. ALSO, I’d argue you can make the game feel good on PS5 by playing slow and real immersed, that’s how I’m going about it and I have minimal complaints (this is coming from a guy who values FPS > everything else).
After some performance improvements I think the game will be damn near perfect. So much fun just wondering around and notice a griffon is legitimately hunting you, or minotaur busting out of a forest charging at you. Its extremely dynamic.

Had it since day on PS5 and honestly have had zero issues. The camera is a little wonky at times when fighting a massive creature within a tight space. That, with all the spells going off can make for a confusing fight at times.Overall an excellent game. They have plans to keep releasing more content for it as well.Dont believe the hype and negativity.I always have to judge things based on my experience. If I used all of these vids as a barometer for my decision, then I would never get off the porch because of all the fear mongering.I also usually wait to purchase AAA games until they are on sale with all.improvements.But,I played the original for years and just couldn't wait for this one.
Dynamic NPC's need to use CPU. Using lots of CPU makes less CPU for the rest of the game. Using the CPU means people playing the game will need a powerful CPU to play the game properly. Loads of people have older CPU's and start having issues. Gamers: wanting the best games, but not having the best hardware and blaming the devs!

Looks great on ps5. No lag or framerate drops. There is a little pop in with character models and some interactive objects like boxes or barrels. Only happened a few times that I noticed. Have about 20 hours in give or take.
I feel like playing on PC is like a drug you can never come back from. I’ve always played on console and I never notice frames unless it starts chopping into a slide show. But 30 and 60 feel the same once you play a few hours of either
It's feels good on ps5, yea 30fps isn't awesome but 60 would be nice, the fade in npc is strange but doesn't bother me personally and idk what you mean by bouncing about on ps5, I've encountered next to no problems with the game
I have no issues on ps5, it feels great and looks great. Not one crash yet. No framerate issues. No glitches. No pop in or screen tearing. Only issue is the npcs sometimes fade in to existence... Not a big deal. Too much parroting things people read or heard with no actual experience with the game themselves.
Star Field does handle it better, but DD2 is at least trying something ambitious. Every NPC is named, has a completely unique face, along with having likes and dislikes, plus a (limited) schedule for where/when you could potentially see them at or on the way to. But regardless, the pop ins are pretty inexcusable. It’s an ambitious game compared to the modern standard. It’s just frustrating most the ideas are left unfinished or unpolished. Devs rarely get the time or funding to fully realize a vision. So exceptions have to be made for that bottom dollar babbbby.
Yea was going to comment that. I have it on Xbox and steam (don’t ask why, it just happened and yes, I paid full price for both 😭) pc specs is a 12900ks and a 3090. I get 80fps outside town on large towns 50-60. On Xbox I get 30 +/- a couple fps in towns and 42 outside towns. Pretty solid 42 according to my tv. Tv specs is 75inch 4k @120 and has VVR and freesync so that def helps smoothen the experience a bit
This is why I often wait for when games go a deeper sale and are often more than a year (or sometimes multiple years) old. Patient Gamer means saving money and less janky things you play.
Bethesda removed a better A.I. from Starfield to improve performance. I know, i have read this somewhere. At one point they "optimized" the game and the A.I. had to be nerfed for better performance.
Im loving it. Game runs well outside city areas. Theres a free mod that unlocks FG that capcom disabled for some reason or you can just use lossless scaling that works well. Until they start patching the performance
Its not very very good. It not truly open world. Traversing through canyons as the main terrain is not open world. The goblins are tedious. The camping is not immersive. There is no interaction in the player home. And you think the optimization is the only issue? Its just okay. Ive put in 10 hrs and havent played in weeks because...well no reason at all really. I just dont want to run back and forth in canyons fighting goblins for a bottle of whatever in a chest as the only loot. Meh
My ps5 playthrough has been flawless. Absolutely enjoy the game. It gave me the courage to play Eden Ring. My first souls-like playthrough ever and I’m loving it!
Granted, my cpu is old garbage at this point, but DD2 needs optimization badly. My gpu casually strolls at around 10% while my cpu is screaming out in agony at 100%. And there are no settings to help reduce the load.
As soon as console gamers stop expecting to have a PC like experience on their potato hardware, we might be able to get somewhere. But when people demand console games to be 1:1 with a PC, we are always playing to the people with the word hardware.
I’ve had fun with Dragons Dogma 2 but it has way more issues than just optimization and micro transactions. Best way to put the game is that it feels more like the foundation of a masterpiece but overall is pretty rough
I dd2 on ps5 and I plays great and doesn’t bounce around . Had cyclops and griffin and goblins and pack of wolves in one Barkley no slow down ran smooth . The guy need his pa5 fixed.
WTF are you talking about I'm on PS5 and that npc fade in/out never existed. The only issues is the frame drops every now and then which is hardly noticable.
Been living in Japan for 10 years and I remember at first I couldn’t even find a WoW server or LoL server to play on, because they didn’t exist here. Japan is a console country through and through, and as a pc gamer to play their shit you’ll usually have to deal with ports, generally resulting in your 2000 dollar rig being outperformed by 500 dollar PlayStations. Just the way it is.
PC is still a problem. I'm on a 4090 w/ a 13900k and I'm hitting 36fps in Vernworth. I played last night in a boss battle where 3 wolves and 3 harpies showed up and I started freeze framing mid combat and had to double tap windows key to unfreeze. You can't compare it to Starfield though because damn near every NPC in DD2 is a potential pawn for your party. They're not just filler.
lol do you have dlss on??? I’m guessing you’re running the game at 4K( I have the same setup, but get up to 80 fps standing in the town square with the fountain.)
I don't get why it's such a low fps. I love it but it's not like the graphics are great or anything. I wonder when they're going to start making games with basic af graphics but make an a.i that runs in real-time that adds high def textures, lighting etc.
I play on PC and it’s still not good. Towns absolutely tank my fps still. I’m not running with an absolute monster PC but it’s still pretty solid and should be able to handle this effortlessly.
I must just have a super ps5 because I've had minimal bugs in Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, Dragons Dogma 2, Spiderman 2, and jedi Survivor, maybe most people don't clean ther ps5

It looks great on ps5. If pop ins bother you, you are playing this game for the wrong reasons. It is the most fun I’ve ever had in a game and I’ve only played one vocation
It’s amazing, but it is clunky, at least at first, and it does not hold your hand. You need to pay attention to context clues and figure some things out for yourself. The performance also needs to be improved, but other than that this game is everything I wanted from a sequel.
Yeah im done with day 1 steam purchases. I never buy at release because of shit like this. Even a game I was omega hyped for I waited a month to get to make sure the game didnt run like dog water.
The sucky reality for modern gaming is that when a game launches, it rarely launches finished, feeling like it’s in the beta stage…which it probably is.
That’s the quality I expect for an early access game at 20$ max. Yet early access games are usually far better than that while full releases are awful.
I swear too many people are out here acting like they have the highest gaming standards lol. Ive clocked in about 60 hours or so on Ps5 with not one issue.
I dont have 2000 dollars for a pc. Which is what it takes cause i watched a streamer play with every pc part he had was brand new top of the line and he got around 60 fps.
Works good enough was like ps3 era and its cpu bound cause the npc’s are tied to the cpu cause of physics and other things so they need have very few on screen or the framerate will tank
Played through the whole game on series s literally no problems other than pop in inside of cities. From what I hear it's better on console by a long shot.

@@OpoOnTheGo bruh people are still on about those pointless ass microtransactions?
A game Releases in Such a state and you still rate it 9/10. How can anyone take your reviews seriously?
Because it's a solid game and the only issue is major cities and even then it's not horrendous even on console, it's a bit annoying sure and they're working on fixing the issues with npcs.
Is it said that even high end pcs can't always maintain 60 fps because of the cpu? Yeah but it's not new to most games in 4k.. you drop it to 1440 or 1080 and the game does a lot better.
The npcs are all individually simulated by the cpu for some reason, my guess is time constraints and it was left because it'd take time to fix and they probably couldn't hit the deadline.
They're not even rhe only game that does this, cpus aren't at the level of gpus and won't be for a while if ever, otherwise it probably wouldn't matter as much.
It's sad to see though because the game us outstanding otherwise.
@@yulfine1688 Can you drop to 1080p on console so it runs better? Is there an option for that?
@@allandm I do not think so, they don't have a performance mode that I am aware of, it's honestly really sad to see because the game is amazing otherwise, you'll probably have to wait a few months to actually play on console and even on pc for some for fixes to come through.

I have it on PS5 and I think it runs smoother than PC from the sounds of things. The NPCs fading in and out doesn't bother me too much and thinking about it it only seems to be localized around the oxcart areas in Vermund and the oxcart in the rest town checkpoint. I haven't seen it anywhere else. I'm loving the game though and playing the hell out of it
I find it wierd people buy games day one. Your paying more for the worst version.
People don't want to wait
People desperate to play some new shit that is actually good 😂 I know I was.
Kinda have to if you're a streamer honestly
What worse version did I pay for then? I’ve got no performance issues and I’ve got the recommended specs listed on steam, nothing crazy. No crashes and no breaking bugs.
Sometimes for us that work it’s easier to plan around release schedules we know months in advanced than trying to organise our individual week.
Haha those are some pretty good reasons lol
Game is fun. I don't mind lowering my graphic settings to low and so far no major issues. Frame dropping at major cities and the fade in npcs, which i don't really mind.
I've had zero problems on ps5 like literally none
That's what i have heard, literally the only people who say the ps5 version isn't good are pc players.
Yeah I just started recently and was surprised by that comment because I've also had no issues. I'll chalk it up to typical pc master race propaganda
You probably just can't see it honestly
@@Iives.tesIa-officiaI how many hours have you played on console vs them? Obviously the console players would know what it looks like, and if they like it then it's good

Thank you, I was debating on buying it all this past week. I’ll just wait for it to go down before I buy it at full price.
I'm going to be giving it some time despite me loving the first game I have a I9-11900k and Rtx 3070 ti and I'm struggling with the frame rate not enough options to fully optimized Graphics settings.
I have over 10 hours in the game now and i will say I do wish the game had a performance mode for ps5 I've still been loving the game and the lower fps isn't the end of the world.
Yeah they need to Fix This ASAP
Because its really Not Optimized with GPU lower than 4000
And i hope they add more Option like Advaced Graphic Settings so we can Setup everything to make game looks smoother
if you in the know you know(u can boost the fps on pc), I can get 100-115 in the town and 145-175 out in the open fighting Griffins etc on my pc RTXon..it does need a patch it cpu heavy. on a 4080super @1440p
Ahhh optimization, a thing that becomes like a myth in AAA games nowadays.remember how developer brainstorming how to put their games into a game cartridge and still try to make the game looks great at that time?mannnn i feel like an old man.
People care about graphic so much in these days it's baffling. Back in the day no one complain about graphic on ps1
We need Shorts on the best succesful way to obtain skills and specializations from NPCs. Also, what benefits do you get when you give gifts to some of the other characters listed in the menu history?
It runs good on ps5. No frame stutter/ lag it’s constant wich is what’s matters. No npc that just appear and can see enemy’s from afar.
I preordered the game but didn’t play until later. I got lucky I never saw npcs randomly fading in
The NPCS are empty spaces though for Starfield. The problem is Dragons Dogma ALL NPCS are dynamic.
@@andishawjfacYou're talking bollocks. It has issues even on the fastest CPU available, just go and look at the gamers nexus piece. People are blaming the devs...because it's the devs who've released this mess.
The no new game the microtransactions the online connectivity it just seems they went out of their way to make people dislike this game
There's no real micro transactions, don't stress about that. The Internet connection is needed because it's an online game. It's pretty good, don't let the crazy narratives some online folks came up with keep you away from it.
I have played 10 hours so far entirely offline what do you mean?
Ps5 feels fine btw, still has the same fade in issue with npcs so I’m guessing that a deeper issue
Is that still a current issue?
@@gts1929 been four months so I’m not sure
Does Series S and it's obvious limitations even with respect to the X and PS5 have a bigger part to play in console versions of games struggling so much lately?
Be truthful to people. This doesn’t feel like a sequel. None of the issues from the first are fixed and the combat is dumbed down.
The combat doesn’t feel dumbed down, what
This wasn’t meant to be a sequel. It was meant to be what they wanted to do with the original. Combat is definitely not dumbed down
Tell me you’re not knowledgeable on the subject without telling me you’re not knowledgeable on the subject
just wait until they remove denuvo and do some optimization
Just bought it and honestly its pretty, but the way they completely destroyed the controling just ruined it for me and on top of that they destroyed the ranger vocation. i loved dark arisen, but this was not great, they should have kept what was working and evolved. But it does look good
Im playing on PS5 and an LG C3 and the game looks absolutely amazing. I mean it looks Very very good. The game itself isnt quite what i expected but i do really like it
Looks great on ps5.
Runs pretty well on xb series x
Yea was going to comment that. I have it on Xbox and steam (don’t ask why, it just happened and yes, I paid full price for both 😭) pc specs is a 12900ks and a 3090. I get 80fps outside town on large towns 50-60. On Xbox I get 30 +/- a couple fps in towns and 42 outside towns. Pretty solid 42 according to my tv. Tv specs is 75inch 4k @120 and has VVR and freesync so that def helps smoothen the experience a bit
Got it on sale. WTF happened? Hot garbage!
@Cristian-et5bg i have a lg g2 and i can confirm around 42 fps in towns its like 35. I have ray tracing on and motion blur off
This is why I often wait for when games go a deeper sale and are often more than a year (or sometimes multiple years) old.
Patient Gamer means saving money and less janky things you play.
Bethesda removed a better A.I. from Starfield to improve performance. I know, i have read this somewhere. At one point they "optimized" the game and the A.I. had to be nerfed for better performance.
All the PS5 hate is extreme lol. I'm on PS5 and it plays just fine.
Meh
I played around 6 hours on ps5 and just decided it wasn’t really for me but I can see why people really like it
My ps5 playthrough has been flawless. Absolutely enjoy the game. It gave me the courage to play Eden Ring. My first souls-like playthrough ever and I’m loving it!
Ps4 games with next gen patches look and feel better than many native ps5 games
I play on the series X. Having tons of fun. Dont have that npc load issue
The guy need his pa5 fixed.
its funny because companies are not releasing games for the ps4 in case this happens. yet it happened on a ps5…
I play on ps5 and have never seen npc pop in and frame rate has been solid aside from the medusa
Rmb when DMC 5 came out and it looked amazing and it ran amazingly on basically anything? Why can't we have that anymore?
Small things like that don't bother me because I remember playing Atari soooo.....
Dragons Dogma has too many enemy encounters and it makes it very difficult to traverse the map. Especially if you’re playing as an archer.
Jsut finished lies of p an lords of the fallen an was looking to pick this up since rise of ronin isn’t really getting the best reviews but I’m on ps5 so should I get or not ? Or any other game recommendations Anyone has I’m open to them :)
That’s an issue on ps5 as well. It’s like u said too it’s more of a fade in than a pop in.
It looks great on ps5. If pop ins bother you, you are playing this game for the wrong reasons. It is the most fun I’ve ever had in a game and I’ve only played one vocation
Starfield can run more npcs because theres loading screens everywhere, unlike dd2.
It’s amazing, but it is clunky, at least at first, and it does not hold your hand. You need to pay attention to context clues and figure some things out for yourself. The performance also needs to be improved, but other than that this game is everything I wanted from a sequel.
Crazy that its only truly playable on pc, and it literally crashed every 10 minutes for half the initial playerbase.
Hopefully they can patch it and make the optimization better because this is the first fantasy rpg I’ve liked in almost a decade
literally haven’t bought the game just because of hearing how it’s so poorly optimized it is and that type of shit from a AAA studio isn’t worth $70
Yeah im done with day 1 steam purchases. I never buy at release because of shit like this. Even a game I was omega hyped for I waited a month to get to make sure the game didnt run like dog water.
Im playing it on ps5 and have no issues. I thought pc was only having problems.
Yet another game that I'm waiting for peak optimization. I'm SO tired of "playable" and "good enough."
I’m playing on ps5 and have had one stutter in the big city nothing else it doesn’t run bad on ps5
I'm waiting for the bugs to be fixed few weeks I will grab it....what would you say its a mix elder scrolls witcher assassins creed val game play ?
Not everyone can afford a 4090 GPU and being that a ps5 is much more affordable...it is a trade off.
The sucky reality for modern gaming is that when a game launches, it rarely launches finished, feeling like it’s in the beta stage…which it probably is.
Same thing but I’ve had them completely disappear right in front of my eyes lol
Been playing for 2ish days now on ps5 and I've not seen a single problem
They gave a frames update to start The Xbox series X I find the NPC’s to be a little boring I agree with that
I think their engine was simply not optimized for anything more than couple NPCs. in small lvls.
Waited years for Dragons Dogma 2, idc what any of the critics say im as damn happy as a man could be with it
Played through the whole game on series s literally no problems other than pop in inside of cities. From what I hear it's better on console by a long shot.
There was a gameplay before the release on PS5 and it was 30 fps😅😂. The $70 price for triple AAA game to run on 30 fps is really hilarious 🤣. Might wait till the price drop before buying it on PC
