I've seen couples like Steve and Marcy where she says "Jump"and he replies with "How high and how many flips with it?". Some of those Steves liked it that way, but others acted like they were reduced to dropping little notes with "Help me, help me please!" scribbled on them.
Yeah, I can't see anyone being happily married to a woman like Marcy.. Actually, I can't see any sane man marrying, or taking serious any of the women portrayed in this show
@@rabbitramen I've seen guys in relationships like that also, it never ends well for him either.. She either cheats, and/or divorces him and leaves him destitute.. Or, he snaps, and winds up in jail for life
Rewatching MWC decades later has made me appreciate Steve. Underneath that 80s yuppie and new age sensitive husband facade, Steve was just a regular guy dying to break free from the corporate rat race and marriage shackles 🤘🤘
Having them both finally meet up in the same episode was legendary! Every joke on this show a masterpiece and truly resonate, unlike many "woken comedy" shows today with highly forgettable script and totally flavorless acting / delivery thereof.
I found Steve to be far more hilarious than Jefferson. Steve was a perfect straight man foil for Al. The show towards the later seasons was too over the top
The whole show was over the top.. A woman in a marriage where she isn't satisfied and stays loyal? Impossible!! A man marrying a woman he not only isn't attracted too, but finds physically repulsive? Again, impossible.. Kelly's character? C'mon now.. So, I think Jefferson was the perfect foil, he was with Al in his shenanigans.. Steve was a square
They should have put where he comes back in the egg an I episode or when he teases Marcy with the car when he is a driver at the car wash when they can't find the dodge cause it clean
I've preferred Steve over Jefferson for a while. But I'm not sad about the change. Cause if Steve was part of it I don't know how he'd feel about no ma'am and stuff, he was a smarter character and wouldn't make the stupid antics with the other friends work really.
Steve was coming dangerously close to turning into a Jefferson like clone by the time he left. But I have to admit I can't see him quite fitting in with Al and his 'No MA'AM pals, job or no job. Jefferson was funny. But Steve brought a more natural flavor to the show that no doubt would have felt out of place in the later cartoonish style of the last 2 or 3 seasons.
“Oh, and if you’re going to watch TV I go to bed at ten thirty sharp.” “But that’s when Peggy goes to sleep. That means I’ll have to go there with her!” “Well, i hate to punish Peggy, but I need my sleep.” 🤣
@@SuperGiantGeckosLLC nah, there have been rumors of an animated show. Cant be live action because Christinia Applegate isnt acting anymore but is open to voice work. 😊

Steve meeting the Bundys was the beginning of the end of his marriage to Marcy. For his own good.

Steve was my fav, him and AL were great
Despite being a regular for just the 1st 4 seasons, Steve had some rememberable scenes- & lines too!
"Is She going to teach you, how to bury me, like she buried her three husbands?"
😹🤘!
With the shot of Al in the background telling him he’s in over his head was the best!
Best sit Com ever !! So great. So much humor.... Bud and Kelly........ All.
Best clips also David Garrison “Steve Rhodes is absolutely amazing actor.
Steve Rhoades is practically a Disney prince. He always had a dignified 'Prince Charming' look to him.
Love these "Best of" comp clips! Thank you, MWC Channel! 🤘🤘
These longer best of compilations are a blast. I love this channel and this show! Thank you for the upload
Rewatching MWC decades later has made me appreciate Steve. Underneath that 80s yuppie and new age sensitive husband facade, Steve was just a regular guy dying to break free from the corporate rat race and marriage shackles 🤘🤘
That's why I preferred him over Jefferson. He was much more than Al's sidekick
@@justas525Absolutely
Yea I agree. Steve was a good dude.
And he eventually did, recall, becoming a Park Ranger thereafter.
Steve: Oh yeah? Is she going to teach you how to bury me like she buried her three husband's?
Me: FU*KING PRICELESS!!!
Steve… that man was Peg’s mother 😂
He was the best. The dead-pan, straight man quality of his delivery was unrivaled. Anytime he had a real zinger was too funny and unexpected.
Love Steve and Jefferson both the same! Each brought huge different hilarious aspect to the show!🕎✡️🇮🇱

He was awesome. Took me awhile to like Jefferson and he still couldn't quite replace Steve.
The bra shopping episode was a classic
Pops...telephone.😂
P: Al it’s my birthday where have you been?
A: Oconomowoc
M: Francine’s?
S: I don’t know, have you been a good little girl?
brilliant character, very funny, always made me laugh a lot, like all that great cast 👌
So many episodes where to start at 😂😂😂
lol, steve fed more meals to the bundy kids in the week he lived there than peg did in their whole lives.

It was more grounded in reality in the earlier seasons, but I enjoy both ends of the spectrum myself.

This was perfect!
when the wife acts like your mother, then you've got a marcy darcy chicken at large.
David Garrison is the best!
7:07 - Holy crap, it's Phil from Night Court! How did I not notice that before?? 😲
I just noticed it , good ol Will Utay
Steve was the best
They should have put where he comes back in the egg an I episode or when he teases Marcy with the car when he is a driver at the car wash when they can't find the dodge cause it clean
Steve is also a hero
They gotta make :
“Married with Grand-Children”!
it wouldn't fly , somebody would get offended
Oh, come on Steve I'm sure you won the Running Home to Mommy Award once or twice.
😂😂
The big mistake with Jefferson was the writers made him Al's buddy.
Steve was a frenemy, and so much funnier for it.
The show just wasn't the same after Steve left

This is true! Also I thought adding Jefferson with the lake Chicamicomaco scam or whatever made that funny too. @@BethHarmon-yh8ms
That guy at 7:12 sure sounded like Red Skelton.
Yes, 'tis William Utay.

Jefferson is fun too, but I always liked Steve's deadpan style better.

Hilarious 😅
Please bring on the animated show!!!
Better to make a modern live version

*The show just fell apart when he left .....there was no straight man to balance the humour..* 😐
Yeah. In later seasons, it became more like looney tunes
I can't decide between Peggy, Kelly and Marcy, so I'll just settle for a foursome
