Pumpkins vs 12 Gauge Shotgun - Slugs & Buckshot, .45 ACP, .357 Mag, .44 Magnum

- Water filled pumpkins are no match for a .44 Magnum or a 12 gauge shotgun, but what about cartridges such as the 9mm and .38 Special? How about a .45 pistol? Trust me, you don't ever want to be in front of a shotgun.
Pumpkin Spice a'la Mixup, better than Starbucks.
Impressed with the 9mm and the shotgun.... Drop the Mic!!!
👍😎
With our unusual weather and all the seeds that you guys spread around, next spring you could have the first pumpkin patch in the Nevada desert. Grow your own targets!
That's a great idea, although most of the seeds are eaten by the ground squirrels, quail, coyotes and the big horn sheep that live in the area.
P226 really did the most damage out of all pistols. That 9mm 👌🏼
Only cause the son hit low with the 357. If he'd hit center, you'd see the sheer difference in effectiveness. Also, if you think the 9mm did more than the 44 Magnum, I dunno what to tell you.
Amazing story on your Ruger Redhawk! After you stated that it's 37 years old, I was thinking 'I wonder how old his son is' and I guessed 30. He certainly doesn't look 43.
Your channel is great, you guys are funny as heck!
You're right, he doesn't look 43 and it's hard to believe that I bought that Redhawk almost 38 years ago! The both of us would like to thank you for watching our videos 👍😎
😎👍
Pumpkin pie! What a fun video. I have to say two things: I was surprised at the 9mm result, and I need to stock up on slugs!
The opening scene of your video made realise that the lil' critters on your ranch have a ball every time after a shootout! Regards from South Africa.
Love the family shooting together
Nice good fun time during pumpkin time with family. Got a new Rossi R92 .44 Mag stainless 24 inch 12 round waiting to go the range, but after watching that Virginia Dragoon, makes me think it needs a companion revolver either SA or DA/SA. Thanks mixup98 and son!
That was great when your son shot the pumpkin with the redhawk and all the water ran out . Don't know if its just I'm that tired , but it made my night. Thanks for taking us along and getting to watch you guys having a blast.
My son and I enjoyed making this video and we are glad to hear that it made your night. Your comment made our day....thank you!
Excellent presentation. Thanks.
You are very welcome and thank you for the nice feedback on our video.
Awesome video nice explosion of pumpkins specially the 2nd video with double barrel shotgun pumpkin explosion that was awesome thanks for sharing
Fun, fun, fun. The Gopro deserves some kind of medal. Thanks Mixup!
Appears----a second round was not needed! Keep those entertaining videos coming!
Glad you went back with the 357
Always nice to see that coach gun in action! Takin' care of business on that pumpkin.
That was the best pumpkin shooting video of the year.
"This the .44 Magnum the most powerful handgun ever. Do you feel lucky pumpkin?" It's also really fun to take a pumpkin apart with .22lr.
I'm always happy to see father and son playing together.. cherish all these times, they are priceless.
Now, must eliminate all the killer pumpkins..lol
This needs to become a yearly tradition! And bonus points if you do a collab with Hickok45.
Great video as always, Thank you-Shawn.
👍😎 👍😎
I liked seeing that first 357 shot with the pumpkin hopping up and landing back down again like it did
I love any 12Ga double barrel! I understand that if you don't harvest pumpkins every so often, they multiply too fast and take over......Glad to see you guys together!
The Great pumpkin massacre of 2023, or how to make pumpkin pie cowboy style hahaha. It was a smashing success!
That Rossi absolutely rocked! Great video, team.
They are having lots of fun- I wish I was out there with them.
Hear that.
More of these please
Thanks for the feedback Todd 👍👍
The exploding pumpkins made great entertainment for father, son, and us RUclips viewers. So did the final exploding hominy shot! Thanks, guys! 👍👍
There is something magical about hominy exploding and showering the desert floor 👍😁
More videos like this? Yes please!!
You guys are having to much fun with them pumpkins!!!!
Great video. It's fun to watch you two have such a good time
Mixup & son you are living my dream! Great video amigos!
Thanks so much, Gary. My son and I really are living the dream and we hope it never ends.
I hope the Great Pumpkin is in a forgiving mood! 🎃
I love these videos of you and your son shooting, Mate. My son came home for a week's leave from the Navy. We shot our bows and crossbows out back. The effects weren't as dramatic as your 44 mag, but it was great to have fun with my son like this. Thanks for your videos.
I enjoy every second that I spend with my son and when I get too old to make these videos I will be able to watch them with my son and reminisce about the good old days. I'm glad to hear that you were able to spend a fun week with your son. Cherish every moment.
You two are a real hoot!
Thanks!
Great fun! Once again, shotgun clear the room!! Cheers!
"No, that's Jason, man! Come on!" 🤣
I very much enjoyed the video. Like you 9mm +P surprised me on how it devastated the pumpkin especially since it the smallest caliber. The 44 mag and the 12 gauge weren't slouches either. Love the video. Oh before I forget more videos please. Keep up the great work.
Good morning Terry. I think I might start carrying those Winchester Defender +P rounds in my EDC pistol. My son and I have lots of videos planned over the next month or two, before winter sets in, and we hope you enjoy them.
Definitely picking up some.
“We had a blast shooting this video.” Yes you do! 😂
Fellas, that was a lot of fun. 😁
Excellent bunch of firearms. ❤
Loved the double feature thanks boys! And for the record, pumpkins and shotguns are a math made in heaven.
Well I had a blast WATCHING it!
Awesome....thank you!
Excellent work 🤠
Raining pumpkin season 😂 thanks for the upload Dad & Lad 👍🇬🇧
What caliber was that rock that you threw at the pumpkin? Always so refreshing to watch your videos and the beautiful southern Nevada.
Don't forget, those 9MM will blow the lungs right out of the body.... That pumpkin didn't stand a chance!
12 Gauge wins no match.going to watch for sure.Good stuff.😊😊😊
🎃 I always enjoy the father and son videos!
Happy Fall everyone.
Thanks for the fun video guys, always love to see some caliber comparisons, especially against pumpkins! 🎃
Winchester Defender 147 grain 9mm is what I keep loaded in my Beretta CX4, great stuff!
give their PDX line a try it's not bad!!
@@keithmoore5306 never even seen any in stores before, I use the standard 147 grain 50 count boxes I. Winchester hollow points, Silvertip, and Defenders, those are the only ones I ever see around here.
@@Isaac_5.56x45yeah they're hit and miss on availability but good ammo up there with ranger /black talons!
@@keithmoore5306 I will definitely pick some up if I see them, everything Winchester makes seems to work great.
Love the two tone look on the colt and Mossberg.
As soon as it popped up I knew it wasn't made for watching on the tiny cell phone screen. 😂 Very enjoyable especially with the Rossi double barrel. Really appreciate your time to entertain us. Thanks 🙏👍
Another great video guys!
That's just cruelty to pumpkins you may be arrested by the Halloween police for it!
This morning I did get a call from the PPA (Pumpkin Protection Agency) 😁👌
Please keep cranking these videos out. It's just the medicine I need when I can't get to the range myself. Sure envy your shooting spot.
Enjoy your video, sure the desert critters will appreciate all the pumpkin!!my favorite fall target as well.I really like the Federal Punch 120+p, that is my home defense load.Take care, gentleman 👍🍀😎
Hope you are enjoying your weekend, would like to see a comparison of the High Point 4595 vs.Kel Tek .40 S&w carbine. Thank you.
Great way to clean the table off
you and your son always have a good time and you always make me laugh.i wish i had a place like that to shoot
Your rock throws are the best, y’all made my day, really enjoyed
12 gauge slugs are one of the most fun rounds to shoot. Sadly they've very expensive if you don't make them yourself. $2-3 per round where I live.
You're right, slugs can be very fun to shoot, especially when shooting water filled pumpkins. Around here a box of Winchester 12 gauge slugs cost about six bucks for five rounds.
Very nice.
Enjoyed every shot.
The buzzing bugs when showing the carnage was great.
Looking forward to a Southern Nevada field trip soon.
"Hey, Son! Have some pumpkin pie."
"Gee! Thanks, Dad."
🤣
👍😁 👍😎
Loved this video! That slug just decimated that pumpkin from your double barrel!
I love your channel. Your reviews have led me to by three guns that you've recommended. The Mossburg 500 shotgun, the Taurus G3c and the Taurus 856 revolver and your right they are all great guns, thanks.
Hello Douglas. I'm glad to hear that you have bought three firearms that I have reviewed and recommended here on youtube. You just can't go wrong with a good shotgun, semiauto pistol and a revolver. Thanks for the feedback and please let me know if you buy any future firearms based on my reviews.
That desert gets more fertile and hydrated every-time mixup shows up! 😂
Redeemed👍. Also, those revolvers were beautiful.
Good stuff as always. At work and dreaming about shooting in the Nevada sands while it rains in New England.
Great video...need more... thanks...keep up the great work
Thanks, will do!
Great video guy's, thanks for sharing. I have known you for 60 years and I can truthfully say that I can't remember ever seeing you miss while throwing a rock. Stay safe guys!
Hello Hank. Yes indeed, we grew up together throwing rocks in the Nevada desert and together we destroyed lots of plastic army men and beer cans. 👍😁 Always good to hear from you, my friend.
If you keep watering the desert with water and out-of-date soda, you'll have some fine pumpkins next year!
Great one fellas, gourds make really good reactivate exploding targets because of their hardness 👍😃✌️🇺🇸💪
Love seeing videos like this, great redemption segment too 👍
We appreciate your feedback, Anthony....thank you.
Informative and entertaining as usual . Thanks
Our pleasure!
I definitely like that Ruger
You didn't kill Jason. Jason never dies.
You guys always have a lot of fun at your work.Hail the 12 Gauge.
Hail!!
Your cuz word cut outs where funny in this one friend! Had a good laugh and a good watch! Thank you
Lots of fun. Thanks for Your video. I enjoy your channel very much.
Awesome....thank you! My son and I have fun making these videos and we are glad to hear that you enjoy them.
I watch a lot of firearm videos but your channel is my absolute favorite. They are always informative and very entertaining! That blast from the double barrel was awesome! Now for a question. You recently did a review of the Hi-Point carbine. I think your was chambered in 45 acp. I am considering the 9 mm version. For the price would this be a good purchase in you opinion?
Good morning Rick. You're right, I do own a Hi Point carbine chambered in .45 ACP and it really is a very good firearm for the money. My carbine is accurate, extremely reliable, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive carbine. I don't think you will be disappointed with a 9mm Hi Point carbine. You might want to check out jsarmsco.com for accessories if you do decide to buy the Hi Point.
You’ve been one of my favorite channels for many years now! I love watching your informative reviews and excellent marksmanship but I especially like seeing you blow stuff up rather than just shoot at paper and steel!
Blowing stuff up is always fun and yes, shooting paper and steel can get boring at times. It's too bad that pumpkins aren't available year round as they make excellent exploding target. Watermelons also explode very nicely but it disheartens me to shoot a perfectly good watermelon. 🥲
Still love your videos for the last few years ... The slug from the Rossi was a nice show. We use the 45-70 Government or 44 Magnum in a Carbine for the "Best" shows like that slug you shot. Fun stuff!
What a great video. I love that Mixup Jr gave us a second shot with the .357. Turned a little mulligan into a whole other fun segment. God bless you two.
My son and I really had fun making this video, especially the last segment where he rectified his mulligan 👍😁 Your comment made both of us smile....thank you and God Bless.
My dad be and I are you’re about the same age as you and your son found you several months back and haven’t missed an episode. Even went back and watched a lot of old ones. Really love your videos. I think you guys are a good mixture of entertainment and informative. Thanks so much and will be watching.
Excellent. Good stuff. Thank you gentlemen.
Thank you for another great video! Please keep them coming
Thank you guys, i love to see father and son sharing the fun together, just like me and my boys!
If you have a gun in 45 Colt, please make som videos with that, it would be awsome.
To the next time, bye!!
Gourdeous shooting. Always enjoy the wheelguns and the 1911A1.
Great video from sunny Nevada, absolutely loved the Rossi Coach gun......best wishes from the UK.
Wow, very cool guys! Thanks and take care.
The Rossi coach shogun was my favorite part . Please shoot more doubles with slugs and large shot and maybe some traditional Muzzle loaders . Kit Carson had a big ole double muzzle loading shotgun .
I love shooting my old Rossi coach gun and I have several videos here on youtube where we shoot slugs and heavy loads through it. I don't currently have any muzzle loading rifles but I do own several black powder revolvers, which I have also reviewed here on youtube.
Love watching you and your son having fun blasting stuff away. Keep em coming
Great video guys. I really enjoyed it.
Had a blast watching
👍😎 😎👍
Shooting is great. Rock throwing is awesome.
Thanks for for the Smashing/Shooting pumpkins mix up edition. ♠️🎩🎯🇺🇸🏹
Great idea on the targets! Looks like you and your son have a hoot out there in those majestic mountains, blasting em away! Your son is a good shot he hit where he was aiming , he takes after you I see haha. Good entertainment as always 👍
Thanks for your contribution to our (N MI) pumpkin shoot in a couple of weeks!
Tannerite works great for vaporizing by the way, followed by a raining down of pumpkin chunks!
Love watching you guys shoot
You good ol’ boys look like you’re living the American dream! Sure wish I had you two as neighbors! And pop’s has arm of a major leaguer. Love your videos.
Here in Northern Ohio.
It's always fun to go shooting especially when my son can join me like yours does. Lucky guys, thanks for sharing !
Always love your pumpkin videos!
Awesome video as always fellas. I like when you also include when you purchased (year) said firearm. It always creates a nostalgic feel to being a firearms owner. I love the look on someones face when I say " I bought this on my 25th birthday " now I am 50. Feels weird that what ever gun I am showing them or they are having the pleasure of shooting it and I can say I have shot 1000s of rounds thru that.
Ker-splash! Happy Halloween!
