Wow, another amazing video. These videos have made me want to visit Guatemala. I was at a dinner party yesterday talking to friends about your videos and these beautiful countries that no one speaks of. Guatemala is on my bucket list and I cant wait to see El Salvador. I live in Los Angeles, come from Mexican parents, have known Guatemalan and Salvadorean people my whole life. Its such a shame that Ive never heard anyone mention the beauty of these places. I was going to plan a trip to Thailand (Ive been twice), but this may be something completely new and closer for me to explore. Thank you for opening this up to the world.

You are right. This site ranks up there as one of the best in the world. I personally think it should be a wonder of the world along with Angkor Wat. I mean how do those get left out, right? Glad you had a great time. There is another smaller temple complex that's even more emerged into the rainforest called Yaxha. If you get a chance check it out. Enjoy!

Local Petenero here, the Tikal national park is more than just ruins, it is a wildlife ecosystem because it is in the Mayan biosphere, they could also go to Yaxha which is a smaller park but with less people or go to "Arcas" which is an animal shelter for our ecosystem

I first visited Guatemala back in the 1990's and fell in love with the country and people. Tikal was a special experience, especially because I took a night hike in the jungle with a ranger and saw the animals and critters that come out a night, like huge tarantulas. I actually camped in Tikal in small wood sheds in the national park. I wonder if those camping sheds are still available.

    Templo 1 = 47 metros.
    Templo 2 = 38 metros.
    Templo 3 = 55 metros.
    Templo 4 = 65 a 70 metros.
    Templo 5 = 57 metros.
    Templo 6 = 12 metros.
    Templo 33 = 33 metros.

I visited Tikal about 10 years ago. It is absolutely the greatest of the known Myan ruins.
It's at least an all-day adventure. Arrive at sun up, bring breakfast (eat at the top of a pyramid).
Hollar monkeys were screaming the entire time. Lots of spider monkeys, too.
Much better access than other Myan sites we've visited.
We almost skipped Guatemala, based on the U.S. State Dept warnings. The people we interacted with in Peten were super friendly. Order tepezcuintle at a local restaurant. It's delicious.

The causeway is a modern addition. The island was one of the last hold outs against the Spanish conquest. There is a statue that was being transported off the island to somewhere so that the Spanish wouldn't be able to destroy it but due to weather or some other factor the boat ended up sinking and the statue is still in the lake and has never been found.

Beautiful places! Really surprised about the beauty and the untouched sites you have visited during your stay. It also seems pretty clean and orderly or maybe you just didn't film the bad and only showed the good. Very nice video!!!

A truly beautiful country :D i don't remember seeing much trash in the touristic places we were visiting, since we are usually walking and talking to the camera it would be hard for us to intentionally try and not show something good/bad

we went there and its one of our favorites, as you mentioned the carvings might be the best we have seen in any site. It was before we started this channel so we dont have any video of it
