- No joke, I CANNOT believe this Aldi steak! It’s no secret that we’re all looking for a way to save a few bucks, but that shouldn’t mean giving up steak. I went on the search for a cheap steak that we could turn into something that was at least edible, but this Aldi steak blew my mind! Another bonus of this steak recipe? We only used TWO ingredients. Seriously, you are not going to believe how easy, and cheap, it is to make an Aldi steak taste in-freakin-credible. Enough talkin’, let’s get to cookin’!

Aldi has really stepped up their game on all of their products over the last 10yrs or so. When we first got married and had kids budgets were definitely tight...we started shopping at Aldi and that's our main go to now besides Costco and maybe a regular grocery store for some name brand specific items. Great video!

$27 per pound doesn’t seem like a great deal to me.
Haven't found GRASS FED for less at a grocery store in a while, but maybe that's just regional
I've cooked a couple of these exact steaks, and they came out really good. Used a cast iron pan on the grill with butter, garlic and thyme

I do 75% of the family grocery shopping at Aldi, including a LOT of the meat.
Our Winn Dixie is converting to Aldi… not so sure… I hate change!

I managed a meat market for WD for over 20 years in Texas until 2002 when they left the state. Started out as a sack boy in 1975. I`LL bet these steaks are pretty good. Winn Dixie will never be the Beef People again though. Those days are long gone.

Aldi does have some good stuff as well as Trader Joe’s. The same family owns both Aldi and Trader Joe’s but they’re two separate companies. They both are great. Awesome Video as always Kosmo!

I want to see (may try myself) a big 2.5lb tomahawk with the double pepper course cow cover put on a smoker at 160 with heavy smoke till it hits 122-123 internal, then blast it with a good sear. Curious how that rub will suck up smoke and infuse it on a steak.

Dude, I was at my local Walmart today and I swear I snapped up what appear to be what looks like Prime Boneless Ribeye thick cut steaks. I was looking for brisket but all three stores here in Austin, MN. had NOTHING...but I found those. Don't hate on the chains...sometimes its a crap shoot as to what you'll find.
Every once and a while you can find nuggets like that.
Yeah Aldi's rocks. Last week they had a crown rack of lamb, already frenched, for $9.99. Their top round makes for excellent roast beef sandwich meat, at $5.99 a pound instead of $14 at the deli.

I find that their meats are usually a little overpriced compared to everything in the store…. Also their beers are expensive but good in quality. I try to get my meat from Costco. I do love their chocolate and cheeses and winking owl shiraz wine and eggs and milk.

Aldi steaks are pretty damn good especially for the price. I buy many of them for cheesesteaks.

Walmart steaks are good too. But I’d like to see your spin on Porksteaks. I’m from St. Louis and know that in a lot of the country people don’t even know what a porksteak is. But they should know.

Ah, someone else who has not lost their freaking mind on here. Cage free beef my ass it is probably produced by a Bill Gates Farm, LOL. Worm food.
Aldi is the lowest store chain on the block and nothing from there is on my menu. Walmart has higher quality and better prices I get beef from a local farm but still buy from the local guy when they have a sale because it is not pretend meat.

Grill marks are NOT flavor it's scorch or burn. Sure it looks pretty bit if you're not doing it to be judged in competition you're just ruining your own eating experience.
Only 2 ways to properly cook a steak
1)sear then indirect heat
2) or reverse sear meaning cook to temp then sear or my preferred method. Smoke then seared for the crust
