It doesn't seem like Ellie has ever been outside a city or settlement, so maybe that's why she's so shocked by the nature and zombies and such? I assume you wouldn't exactly be able to go hiking and stuff or be out and about often, being a child in the apocalypse, especially if she was born during it. That's also probably why she doesn't know what, like, a coffee shop is either, there's really no need reason for her to have seen or been to one. I'm not sure if they do that for a majority of the characters or not, but considering she's a pretty major part of the story, it makes sense that she would be, at least. I'm the same as Krism where I get extremely insane when you don't explore, optimize, craft, reload, and pick up EVERY little thing, so I'm thankful that she's around to keep me, and Minx, somewhat in check. Most of the settlements seem pretty inland and such, so I don't think there would be many opportunities to teach kids to swim. Like, going out and about with all the splashing would likely just attract zombies, I'd assume. Plus, it's a useful skill, but not one I guess is necessarily considered, well, necessary? I'm sure there's more things I could comment on, but I feel like that's enough for now, heh. Great playthrough from you and Krism, and stay super duper nom! 💜

Almost anyone would do it in a heart-beat, especially when it's just a rando-kid. Man, after rewatching this whole thing all over again, you know what? Now I get it, I get the hype and popularity of this game, kinda wished they balanced it out. Man. I went into this knowing very little about the story and this was bleak as hell. Every little shred of light getting constantly ruined. Like, I love post-apoc stories, but I feel like this leaned a little too heavily on the humans-are-monsters view of it. If the sequel is even more bleak, I don't know if I could take it. That said, it really is a GOOD story and I was fully invested! (though if there was a SA-scene that got cut? Good. We all know SA would be rampant in this world, no need to shove our faces in it) The people that did the voices for the Infected did such a great job. Their screaming and crying was horrifying because it sounded so real! And it is - those are just people being puppeted by mushrooms and that's terrifying! And I'm with Krism on this one - brain biopsies are a thing. Not risk-free, but definitely better than killing the one source of mutated spores. They could definitely have at least tried to get their samples without killing Ellie. I mean, hell, humans have been doing trepanning with a 70-80 % survival rate for thousands of years!
SA-scene? Was it supposed to be with Tess? Darn, I forgot about this.. Edit: Oh that's fuck up... I'm glad they made it ambiguous, David already was suspicious as shit as the start, it makes all sense considering the work he wanted to put up with.
Second game is good, but it also has some shitty politics, with regards to the Isreali Palestine conflict. Very mixed game, beautiful, messy, horrible, worth playing and ultimately mechanically sound. but very miserable.
