Another channel asked what could stand up to 120 ork boyz...i definitely want to see how this performs head to head with a green tide ork host.
I cant wait to see how this army does, finally using ogryn bodyguard!!! However, no NorK Deddog or command Squad for Straken. A savy opponent will give him the Auspex Tactics treatment. Id do one less inquisition squad and go for the command squad and Nork. I want Straken to survive as long as possible and generate some mortals in combat. Nork gets what like Str 9 ap -2 dmg 2.
If you want Fixed Objectives, maybe you should break up one of the combat squads and make a few small objective squads?
It's quite different from your nids. It's pretty painful not to shoot and charge with a few of these super high quality squads.
You should put the list, or a Battlescribe/Rosterizer link to the list on the comments or description so we can really look at it all compiled together
I'd try to squeeze in a few sentinels. of course, those will draw in all the AT that has nowhere else decent to go. But it'll at least buff the tech priest. They can also scout ahead. Might be a little expensive to get a lot of those.
Looking sharp 😊 I think you could do well with a sentinel or cyclops that just needs to die to trigger the tech priests. 😂
I mourn for your hand used to paint these, my hand gets cramped for days after painting up a 10 man squad
You’re looking at a life’s work brother o7
Rome wasn't built in a day. The army takes time.
Throw Harker in there with Straken, nice little durability boost since Harker debuffs shooting from over 12" away.
My god... It's glorious 🥲
Really like the idea of the Inquisitor unuts..new to me.
It needs a Scout Sentinel Squadron or 2. 7 Toughness, 21 Wounds, 3+ Sv. Scout 9" and Move 10" can really put your opponent on the back foot.
I am very excited about this one. I hope it was successful.
Hey there Mordian. Thank you for making this content from America
Just remember the ogryn body guard increases the units toughness to 6 when the bodyguard unit is killed!
how?
In 10th you use the highest toughness in the unit. It only kicks in when the bodyguard unit dies, but after that, if there is an ogryn bodyguard in the command squad, the whole squad is T6 until the ogryn dies.
What if you added cyclops demo vehicle to trigger the tech priest double melee attacks when an ally vehicle dies within 12 of it?
No Regimental Preachers; sad, but understandable. They really should replace the Holy Piety ability with an ability - let's call it "Only in Death!" - that gives the unit the preacher is leading a 4+ chance to fight on death.
It's flavorful and crunchy in a very Guard way of giving your boys and girls a chance to go down fighting, dragging their enemies down with them!
As for the army itself, perhaps going with 2 squads of ogryns in place of the Acolyte + Inquisitor squads, since they are shooty, fighty and durable(relative to a guardsman).
Imperial Navy Breachers with attached Rogue Trader entourage might be fun as well with several power weapon or equivalent melee, coupled with Shotguns so that they can close in, shoot and charge.
Add on top the Feel No pain of 5+(same as Krieg Marshall) from entourage, Smoke keyword and slight Grenade strat boost -plus Demolition charge- from the Breachers in addition to their wound re-rolls of 1, or full rerolls on enemies in range of objective markers for the unit.
Then you get the Rogue Traders Warrant of Trade deployment tricks where you get to redeply D3 Imperium Battleline units _after deployment._ If you have two Entourages you essentially get 2D3 units to redeploy.
Still...one unit of Breachers and Entourage cost 210 points for 14 models. Compared to the Acolyte and Inquisitor combo it's in the same points rage for a few less models, with very different roles. Ultimately the Acolytes and Inquisitor are more durable and punchy, though the 2D3 redeployed units would be quite a wild card with combat Guard, especially with the scouting Catachan Blobs.
DRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE THE MEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!
I want to see the wild 300+ body guard list.
inb4 squadwipes from high rate of fire/blast weapons
I'd love to play against this with my orks, oh the shame if we lost 🫣🤣
This is a wild and quirky army list. It might work though. Let's see. But I'm a bit skeptical and surprised that this Astra Militarum list aiming for close combat does not include any bullgyn unit.
Wild stuff

Looking good!!! 😍
Surprised you didn't throw in a scout or armored sentinel or 2. sure they'll draw all the anti armor firepower but they can try using cover, and even if they die they'll buff the tech priests.
if it wasn't infantry only I'd suggest an Eradicator or two. Make them fireball variants and an overwatch threat in case someone tries to charge your boys. They might soak up a surprising amount of fire with the tech priests inv saves as well. And they're perfectly happy charging into something that might blender your infantry.
don't forget the mindlock rule for the servitors for another +1 to hit
Unfortunately this won't stack with the Fix Bayonetts Order...both give +1 Weaponskill...but if the unit took casualties it will stack with Grim Demeanour
@@s.h-d6074 I think they do stack? I thought the limit was only +1 to -1 for dice rolls.
@@s.h-d6074 since Auras stack... possibly they would stack as well
Why the castellans over something else, like an eversor for example? The sustained hits only triggers in ranged and the added orders aren't needed, right?
Best of luck
I guess no points left over for a demolition vehicle to boost your tech priests for the memes (unless I missed it in the list)? :(
You can have 2 squads of acolytes and 2 inquisitors? I thought allies were limited to 2 datasheets
2 characters and 2 non-character units, and only at 2k. You get basically 1 of each per 1k
As far as I'm aware. The limit on Imperial Agents (at 2000pts) is two characters and two Retinue units.
Oh brilliant, the more you know
Even better than that: you can take 2 Characters, 2 Retinues, 1 Big Knight OR 3 Armiger, and 1 Titan ! You can basically just take the Warlord in the original Army and take everything else as allies and still be a totally valid list.
My friend used to tell me of making 50 man conscript blobs with a commissar wrecking it. Do priests not work anymore?
Their ok for the points cost, but you can’t put them on Ogryn (which has usually been the case but has never made sense), and they turn off the Scout move on Catachan squads, so they don’t really do too much. I could maybe see some use for them inside of a Cadian combat platoon, but it’s more convenient to just take a castellen most of the time
Custodes don't get much fights first anymore
Wouldn't Attilans or death riders be better than servitors? I understand this list is infantry only, but they are more effective.
Probably! But Mordian doesn't have Rough/Death Riders built or painted to make an effective list for that unit!
@@HiveFleetThanatos that's fair.
Can't wait for mordian to go 0-3 and conclude that this just doesn't work.
Little did you know 😏
It's still a LOT of bodies to chew through if they were prepared for armor and not infantry.
If I played it, it would take me forever to do one turn. He is a master at Guard Horde. If he can't do it, it is a bad idea.
Annnd you have been wrong sah!
@@HiveFleetThanatos lambast me!
neat list, could be better with 11 more leman russes.
