Why would Northeast Regionals have observation cars?

How much does it cost to ride up on the train to NY

Amtrak is always running specials between DC/Baltimore and NYC - I paid $42 per ticket. My daughter went from DC to Conn last month for $36 each leg.

@@justron1865 They are beginning to call Penn Station, Moyanahan station since they new waiting room opened up. I did take Amtrak from Union Station where I got off the Red Line, back on Christmas day 1993 to visit my Mother in Parker, CO. There was no weekend and holiday MARC service back then, and it worked well but I had to spend 3 hours before my Flight at BWI. That was the only transit link available that day. On the way back, I took MARC since it was a weekday.

    Get there

    • @justron1865

It only took 3.5 hours. Not a lot of stop until you get into New Jersey and those were pretty short stops. I love riding the train. Are you looking to travel soon?

@@justron1865 yes. I’m looking to move to Maryland there but am trying to avoid a lot of traffic going into Jersey and NY. I will have my daughter with me , so I wanted to see which method would be safe for her.just wanted to use the train on those pretty shopping days

@@Goddessluv22 I used to take the bus into the city years ago but they are crowded and not always the cleanest. If you check out Amtraks website you can find some good deals. The train will drop you off at Penn St. So you can jump right on the subway to get you anywhere in the city. No tolls which can be pricey...last time I drove it was like $40+ to get into NYC! No traffic...no parking.
