I love Maglite, but so frustrated that the haven't kept with technology. So I moved to Olight. Never looked back

The high lumen and candela race has its advantages, but “Bulletproof” flashlight such as Surefire and Malkoff don’t get into that power push because they are primarily about being bulletproof, and pushing LEDs hard is not a good longevity trade off. That’s why those flashlights haven’t changed in 10 years, 10 years ago they were plenty bright enough to do the job, and today they still are.
I just received my Javelot Pro...I am completely blown away by how far the throw this flashlight produces. Simply love this light!
ruclips.net/video/fmbsWOrHKKw/видео.html
I purchased the Warrior X, and the Javelot Pro, both came in TODAY! I'm sitting on my front porch right now watching this video and playing with my two lights! So cool. I'm still learning the button settings, but so far so good! I didn't get the 30% off but heck that's the story of my Life LoL. Thumb's up!~John
I've had an M3LT-S for a couple of years and it's also been by far my favorite light design up until now. I ordered the Javelot Pro as soon as it went on sale since it really does seem like the closest thing but with up to date performance. Great to see them directly compared in this video by another fan of the M3.
How much does O'light spend on advertising?! It seems like all the channels are reviewing this at the same time crazy....and I love it!
Usually free lights + affiliate link. Bigger channels get a chunk of cash for sure.
Great video, did you by any chance see if you can put 18650's in the Javelot?
I haven't heard you mention "Nitecore" flashlights. What's your take on them?
X7r has 12000 lumens you have to double tap twice to get to that mode with 100 % battery charge
Yes that is correct! Thanks!
Just ordered mine hear in the U.K. based on you're recommendations can't wait for it to arrive.
I was wondering if you ever tryed to swap batteries in the houseing like you said you would be trying?
First time on your channel....great review!
Did you ever test out if you could put other 18650's in it?
Hey bud, missed to mention the price tag difference between the udr dominator and the Jav pro...
I've seen video of the Javelot Pro vs Javelot Turbo and I believe Olight usually does great upgrades, but in this case I feel the older one, the Pro has a better beam... I'd love to see them compared side by side in real life instead of just video, but from what I've seen, I'd prefer the older Javelot Pro. Just my opinion. The Warrior Turbo is a good competitor, also. Kinda the same specs, but smaller package and what I'd find preferable is the remote pressure switch... specifically, the way it locks on to the tailcap instead of just magnetic attachment. I believe some of the tailcaps are more swappable then Olight wants us to know.
I’d like to see an updated comparison with the O-light Marauder 2 and X9R against the Surefire Dominator
Properly mounted and aligned it would make a good coyote light. Thanks for sharing !
I've been running olight for 3 to 4 years now and I really like them.
The flashlights featured are excellent, but the flashlight that beats all of those is the 2,500 to 3,500 lumen Streamlight ProTac HL5-X. 👍😎✔
I don’t know who is in charge of SureFire. But, Olight took what you use to do an EVOLVED it.
So wait , you cant put different batteries in the javelot pro ? I was about to buy one till ya said that . So what happens when batteries die
'
Simply re-charge or buy a back up for around $70 bucks Australian. I bought it the light plus an extra so I can swap it out when it runs flat👍
Good vid thank you, also I like your back wall I think that is what helps the sound on your vidstay nice and clear.
Cheers Mate!
Back at ya. Cheers!
I'm looking for a small well rounded spot light. Nothing bulky, high lumen, long distance, easy to hold. That dominator is bloody expensive.
Really miss 47s they had a great lineup, and great features.
They are back! darksucks.com/collections/foursevens
ok review. More of a commercial than anything else. BTW the MX7R, is a super useful light for way more than what you have said. While it is cool to have a thrower, at 200 + yards the human eye can not zoom in. Many details while illuminated, are to far to make that much of a difference. The X7R at 12,000 lumens is great for distances up to 200 yards... big time. It is real life useful. Other super useful uses of the X7R, 30 days run time, switch lights up when you nudge the light allowing one to find it in the dark. This has been very helpful many times. It can be set on end to shine at ceiling, again a useful feature. You should have said that! I think you sold it short.. :(
Your points on the Javelot are correct. It is a great light. It is a specific tool. Like target illumination at 300 to 600 yrs.
Surefire sucks with their pricing. That's why they got dominated by Olight, not just that but the evolution of technology.
condore19 pricing is the only thing that sucks about surefire. I have never doubted any surefire light I owned. Some folks have higher standards🤷🏻♂️
Evocati I still buy surefire regardless. I still have extra money in my pocket. To each their own. Some buy a Honda, some buy a Mercedes. Personal preference?
@@Seveneleven44 - Yea, and some people over pay for over priced goods. Especially when the competition is providing same or better quality for half the price.
Wow, they are not even close to “the same”
@@Everyday_Railroading Made in USA vs Made in China. Buy goods from the US to keep the last jobs there, or buy goods from China to help them monopolizing manufacturing, kill competitions, weaponize trade and conquer the world. I'll choose freedom, thank you.
Try the 100,000 lumen light recently reviewed by Canadian Prepper.
nice!
Don't see a link for the 30% off.
It's over with. Was a one day special last Thursday.
I have a x7r 12k lumen not 9
olight javelot m3xs-ut which is basically a javelot pro with lower output
A blf gt
And I prefer the javelot over all of them
Candela FTW
Wait, you get 60 lumens out of your maglite???
haha
I get about 600 lumens and 40,000 candela from my LED 3 D-cell one. What they don't tell you is that D cells are much more energy dense than rechargeable. I get nearly 30 hours of battery life on high.
@@bigpatty823 you get more maximum voltage out of 3D too. I just find they drop off too fast and lose that initial brightness. Plus I just don’t like big lights unless it’s for protection
Surefire udr retails over $1k. That prompted me to unsub.
Nothing is worse than not being able to change your batteries.
You can. Buy another battery pack
for law enforcement
The olight is more modern than the surefire but trust me when I say this the surefire will come to hell with me when I go... My olight has already had 2 warranty repairs within 5 months and it takes forever to get your light back also, And one more thing I forgot I dropped my older javalot waist high on concrete and it mashed the aluminum so much it interfered with the beam pattern, I had to take a diamond file and sand it completely off that aluminum they use is the softest aluminum I’ve ever seen so don’t drop it on concrete
Surefire makes extremely rugged products and their price point reflects that. Their target customer base is military and law enforcement. They aren't targetting the everyday penny pinching prepped. I am glad to own surefire. But I do like that other more affordable options are available for people not needing the gold standard.
i was wanting the javelot pro until you showed me the batteries. no way do i want special, hard to find, expensive batteries. they blew it.
Not being able to change the batteries myself === DEALBREAKER
Use external battery pack anker I would recommend with cable attached
You can buy the battery packs
X9R is 12K lumens
Actually the x9r has 25,000 lumens and its the bigger flashlight, the x7r has the 12,000 lumens and that's the coke can flashlight
@@dillondaundivier8215 You are correct brain fart on my end! I meant to say X7R. Review claims the X7R has 9000 when it has 12000 lumens.
@@billb410 the only reason I know is because I'm eyeballing the javelot pro and been on the site everyday to look at it lol
That javelot is a fail on almost every count. Forced battery pack, you know you're being baited there. Forced case, charging extra for that. That light is for people with more money than brains. That's why they give them away free for good reviews so that the reviewer doesn't regret the purchase. Your batteries begin to get weak, a little older, you're screwed with your hands tied.
Better call a wambulance.
@@billb410 Another snookered customer. I feel for ya. If you're a retailer you'd be sitting on all that stock. Man what a drag for ya. But look God gave you a brain - use it.
@@50kArchipelagos Ok, I'm not a fan of battery packs either but it was done for several reasons. 1) Olight wanted to keep USB charging even from 5 volt only USB sources. It will take advantage of 9 volt sources also. Since the light runs 2 18650's in series so 8.4 volts 5 volt USB sources could not charge the light. Olight figured out how to charge the cells in parallel allowing 5 volt sources to charge the light and at the same time drive the light with the cells in series. This made user replaceable cells near if not impossible do to the added complexity of the additional electronics needed to make this happen. 2) This light is made to withstand high powered rifle recoil. By using a battery pack instead of user replaceable cells they reduced the possibility of a momentary loss of power during recoil by eliminating the bounce of the cells in the battery tube. This also makes the light more durable in the long run. Would I have done it this way? No as I have no problem removing the cells and charging them in a external charger. I do this on lights that have internal charging in most cases anyway because I like to see what is going on with my batteries. Cell bounce can be worked around also so given a choice give me common user replaceable batteries. In the end is it a problem that Olight used a battery pack? IMO not really. Oh and the case is fluff but I like fluff. It's not a bad case and could easily be repurposed if need be. IMO $146 on sale for a quality weapon light that comes with everything you need to rifle mount the light is a good deal. Even at the full price of $200 for just the light its well worth it if you need a long distance rifle light or hand held thrower. Spare packs are $50 BTW.
@@billb410 Wow Bill. I thought I was the one supposed to call a wambulance. That's cute but you're out voted by about 20 to 1. Try marketing something that will sell. That new Acebeam w30 is no nonsense. Try that.
@@50kArchipelagos Using that crystal ball again are you. You must be a home depot light guy, like the one time use lights and for free besides. I have spent more than a Javelot Pro costs going out to dinner and I'm a poor boy.
