Great content! Some things that I would like to point out, I believe it would improve the dps. Coming out of stealth with multilate instead of garrote, using shadow oil in the off hand. Save thistle tea when you have Master of subtlety buff up, so ideally you would try to maximize your dmg mid fight by: have slice and dice running, get 5 combo point, make sure you have 5 stacks of deadly poison on the target, let your energy go up around 70 80%, Vanish - ColdBlood, Evenom, mutilate, mutilate, thistle tea, mutilate, mutilate. For combat build I believe that evenom is better than using slice and dice at any moment, unless you pull a mob before boss for that purpose only
Thanks for the comment. Those are good tips. I was thinking about the Shadow Oil, but it's a bit expensive for the damage. And I believe it still has an internal cooldown of 10 secs which doesn't give you the 15% proc chance. I'll definitely have to do some testing around that. Too bad there aren't target dummies. lol.
@@Displace99indeed shadow oil dmg is very little for the price
two things you missed, shadow oil on offhand and spellpower elixer (envenom scales 1-1 with spell power)
Is that true for deadly poison as well?
im not sure, I only know envenom for sure as i saw simonize do the testing. I don't think so though as it would be a huge % gain if deadly scaled with sp

I was thinking about Shadow Oil, but it's cost puts it out for a lot of players. I do want to do more testing to see what the actual DPS difference is between the Sharpening Stone and Shadow Oil.
And poisons don't scale with Spell Power. That would be crazy if it did. I didn't realize Envenom scales with SP. I'll have to look into that a little bit more. Thanks for the info.
the difference isn't huge, they are both small scale consumes but it all adds up.@@Displace99

Pity this is out 2 weeks before the phase ends. In regards to combat spec I don't take Adren rush. I take 4/5 dagger. Stop at 2/2 wep exp. (27). Put 4/5 into Oppo (16% more mut). Adrenaline rush is 150 energy every 5 minutes. 3.75 mutilates. You need to do 23.44 mutilates buffed 16% to match. 937.5 energy. 93.75 seconds. 1.56 minutes.
Ergo, 16% mutilate results in 3.2 times the damage vs using adrenaline rush. Assuming 100% uptime. Effectively I am saying value trash DPS time, not just boss.
In phase 3 we will get 10 more talents. We'll also have Dual Spec, meaning you can have a boss and trash focused layout. Academic at this point.
I will have a Phase 3 build out shortly. And I appreciate the info on your build. I'll definitely be looking into that as I work on the Phase 3 build.

@Displace99 lol, yeah, I knew I had to but totally slipped my mind.
I made a rogue alt and just wanted to lvl, so didnt go out of the way to get deadly brew and envenom. I finally got them at 37, and realize I screwed myself by not getting them. Shit dies sooo much faster
Yea some of these runes are pretty powerful.
You don't need to be behind an opponent to gain benefit on Opportunity on Mutilate btw.
If that's the case, I would think that would be a bug since the tooltip says "when striking from behind".
Not a bug as the Mutilate tooltip reads: "Mutilate benefits from all talents and effects that trigger from or modify Backstab unless otherwise specified."@@Displace99

what about for peoples who using swords?
They made a mistake
Since Mutilate is the best rune, it requires daggers, so I would suggest you switch from swords to daggers
strength should be higher on the list than attack power since currently there are buffs that increase our stats by 10% but there are none that increase flat AP by a %.
Strength is further down the list because of stat prioritization on gear. It's a lot easier to find gear with more AP than Strength. Even accounting for the 10% buff.
