    The Bachmann 90 is a great loco, although getting pricey now. I re-liveried my Railfreight distribution into Freightliner grey and it’s a cracking loco. Enjoy yours and all the best, Colin.

      Hi Colin i bet it looks good in that livery nice job, they are getting pricey especially hornby and the new bachmann 47s, thanks for watching. Tom

    Very nice, I got City of Glasgow virgin livery. Smashing loco. Great review too.

      Hi Graham glad you like the review, i was very tempted by the city of glasgow as the originial virgin livery is one of my favorites and ive got the hornby 87 winston churchill in that livery but opted for present day freight, thanks for watching. Tom

      @@northwesttrainsmodels nooooo don't do that .. get 90042 sound chipped .. get them.both weathered by Jerry at Squirrel Rail .. get some OLE for otherwise good layout .. then.. get the g&w 90(s)

      maybe a light weathering would go nice

    Its a lot easier getting DC locos to run as a pair than DCC.

      it certainly is when there running toghether, the main benefit i suppose of dcc is that if a double headed train pulls into a station or siding 1 of the locos can detach and move of while the other one sits there, am still learning myself it does test my patience sometimes but will hopefully get better at using the full dcc set up, thanks for watching. Amazing video I have 2 of the new bachmann class 47's and I paid about nearly £780 for them both and there good but too expensive I'm looking at getting 2 of the class 90 aswell

      @northwesttrainsmodels  Год назад +1

      Hi glad you enjoyed the video, I do like the look of the new 47s but like you say very expensive, I'll have to wait a while before I can afford anymore 😂 I've still got alot on pre order and 2 bachmann narrow gauge locos have just turned up, what liveries were you thinking of getting for the class 90, thanks for watching. Tom

      @North West Trains one in freightliner and the ews one but I'm getting the new flying Scotsmen from hornby when it gets released in the summer but even that's going to cost me nearly £400

    • @northwesttrainsmodels
      @northwesttrainsmodels  Год назад +2

      @danread89 wow and is that with sound for that price am hoping to get the black 5 with working smoke when that comes out, also the freightliner livery does look stunning on the 90s I've got to say, I also like the virgin livery but can't have them all unfortunately

    • @larry1665

      @North West Trains to have them all we'd have to take out a bank loan

    Yeah I bought one yesterday for £280 off an eBay retailer (Class 37 loco Group) so should get it in a few days, also have the 90042 but haven't fitted sound to it yet which I will do.
    I see the new one still has the crunchy cornflakes sound on the panto which is still a disappointment considering the AS Class 92 (have 2 of those with sound on order) are near silent.
    You can adjust the panto height via the CV settings but if you go on RMWeb to the Bachmann Class 90 thread someone has explained how to do that.

    • @northwesttrainsmodels
      @northwesttrainsmodels  2 года назад +1

      Thanks mate will take a look at that, I've never really played around with cv setting it's something I've been meaning to try and play around with, am sure you won't be disappointed with yours I was very tempted by the Virgin livery but can't have everything, thanks for watching. Tom

      @@northwesttrainsmodels yeah I'm current day only thus Virgin livery would be no good to me.
      I quite fancy the special DB 90 but the price is quite horrific for sound or non-sound thus will think about that one for a while.

      @@northwesttrainsmodels when the panto is raised does your pan sit flat?
      Got my new one but when the panto is raised the pan sits at an angle thus just wanted to know if this is prototypical or it should be flat when raised?

    • @sapphirejunction8993

      Btw do you know what F23 does?...something about volume control but no idea what it does.
      Also, does the cab light supposed to fade out or go off once the loco starts moving or do you have to switch it off manually via the F15?
      Must say the one I've got doesn't seem to have the legs or enough power as at speed setting 50 or above just seems slow and when crawling below 20 it has a faint electrical hiss which doesn't sound right thus contemplating sending it back for a replacement and this after running it in for a few days on & off.

      Hi I'll check my pantograph i think its flat but I'll check next time am in the loft i still need to try a d adjust it, haven't had much time up there as I've been working and last weekend i had a few days out as you can probs tell and been working on the garden railway while the weathers ben been nice, I think the cab lights go of automatically when running, I've not tried the volume adjustment yet, I'll hopefully get some time to have a play at the weekend

    I got one recently and its super quiet - did you find that? Says F23 changes volume but it only turns it on and off. Beautiful loco otherwise

    • @northwesttrainsmodels
      @northwesttrainsmodels  11 месяцев назад

      I found the sound on mine ok to be honest but it's only really noticeable when moving of at slow speeds and the horn otherwise when running at speed you can't really hear it especially if other locos with sound on but I presume the real thing engine wise is quiet with it being electric, it might be worth asking bachmann about your sound volume there maybe a cv setting to change or another option for volume control, let me know if you find out and thanks for watching. Hi Peter glad you like the loco and its just the new one that has sound the other one is just the first dcc one they brought out am waiting till i get abit more free time in the loft to start playing round with the cvs so i can do more double headers on the layout, thanks for watching. Tom

    Ok I'm new at this and tearing my hair out trying to double head both my Class 90's (exact same ones as yours) where 90042 has a Bachmann/Zimo decoder 36-569 and is faster than 90041 which has the factory ESU v5 sound decoder.
    I have a Gaugemaster Prodigy Advance II controller but for the life of me cannot get both loco's to travel at the same speed after setting them up as a Consist and I can't find any info on what the possible problem is with speed matching both loco's, like I said 90042 is noticeably faster than 90041 when running together thus consisting is atm is impossible.
    Any advice on how you did it with your 90's would be most welcome.
    Cheers Steve

    • @northwesttrainsmodels
      @northwesttrainsmodels  2 года назад +1

      Hi Steve I had the same problem even though I set the speeds the same on the consist, I haven't had another go yet but might be worth experimenting with the speeds of one loco till you get it closer to the right speed

    • @northwesttrainsmodels
      @northwesttrainsmodels  2 года назад +1

      I was also thinking because I have a double track put both locos on seperate tracks and when u turn on the power they should stay the same distance apart
