Can you please help me decide? Arrma Gorgon vs Mjx 14210. I have a fair bit of experience in racing RC years ago. I want to buy myself and my 13 & 14 year old sons a truck each for Xmas to race on a small patch of relatively smooth dirt in my back yard and build some decent jumps for a bit of aerial acrobatics. Which would you buy again knowing what you know now after trying both?
Good question. Both trucks are really good, similarly priced, and durable. But if I had to pick one to buy again, I would buy the gorgon because it's 1/10 scale, has parts support from Arrma, and soon many 3rd party parts as well, it's super easy to upgrade to brushless, more versatile as it's better off road, and it doesn't take much to make one ripping fast. Both are great, but I would go gorgon again. Though I really love MJX cars.
Unbelievable that it's so able, and so inexpensive. I've been bashing with it for days now and it's going strong. The gears are impressing me big time with what they can tolerate.
I love this thing! It was my first Arrma purchase. Had it almost a week. Got the yellow and green one. Got a 2s Lipo and a cooling fan just to be safe. I love love love that Arrma gave us something so retro looking and feeling when you drive it. For me, the 25mph top speed I get stock is more than enough for fun bashing around my yard. I can’t get enough of this thing! I have a traxxas XRT and the newer slash BL 2 that sit on the shelf now in favor of the Gorgon. Great video man. 😎 I also hit the sub button too and smashed the bell!
most of the time 25 MPH is plenty for general bashing and just plain fun. You're right, it does have a retro feel to driving it which I neglected to mention in either video I've done on it so far. It's a great car in general and Arrma made a really good decision making a 1/10 scale car with that level of quality and durability, especially at that price range. It's a grand slam! I really appreciate you watching and dropping a line, it means a lot to me. Thank you!
Sales look great on this for the price. Runs awesome after brushless upgrades. But I’m sure once the Gorgon BLX version comes out… sales will skyrocket!!!
@@Rek_Rc I wish it was out a year ago when I got my big rock. I would have had more fun with that I bet and I may not have had all of the gearbox issues (hard to say though). Also, the tires in my BR can’t handle past 40 mph…. 46 was the fastest I got it but it spins out last 40.
That's crazy. Your Gorgon I've seen so far. 62 mph 👍 What a great little truck. It does it all. Tricks, jumps and speed. It sure would be nice if they had a 4wd version but from what I can see the Gorgon is superior to the Traxxas BigFoot and cost less. I'm looking forward to more awesome videos of this super cool truck. 🏆
It's the best budget priced RC car pretty much ever. I would have liked 4WD myself, but being 2WD helps keep the price low and it's quite capable off road for a 2WD actually. I'm impressed by this RC in every way, and brushless swapping it really only took about 15 minutes, it's the easiest brushless swap I've ever done.
Okay because I bought a gorgon I just don't know what kind of system is good for it I like your system but I wanted to be a little bit slower I mainly want her for off-road
@@williamcabello2142 a little slower is actually better because you'll be able to use more of it and probably get the same speed or close to it. I never got past 3/4 throttle because that last bit was a bit too much, and then it was just an epic roof slide at highway speeds.
@@Rek_Rc well you can put that hobby shop supply theory to the test ;) the ones in my area are more than useless, never have the parts in stock for stuff that they are meant to support. And this is in the middle of a city of over a million. The nearest one that ever seems to have any stock is 50 miles away. I seem to have much better luck with the Chinese brands directly from China, seems to require much less patience
Your channel needs more subs! I gave you one! I’ve got one of these on my birthday list next month lol! I plan to put the spectrum 3s system in it as well! What a beast by Arrma!
Spektrum 100A 6500Kv, it's the same system the losi 22s drag cars run, I also run it in my DR10. I appreciate you subscribing. Thank you so much! To be honest that system is way too much, I probably could have gotten the same speed on half the RPM because I never really got past half throttle with that system. It was fun trying though!
@@fogcityrc4874 I think the 3200Kv BLX system with a 16T pinion would be perfect for that car. The stock pinion is 13T 08mod which I used. But, half the KV with a slightly taller gear would be the sweet spot I think.
If this stays at that current price, I believe you may be right about it being the best 1/10 budget Rc going today!
Totally agree. I can't think of anything at that price with that level of quality, parts support, and when you go brushless, it's absolutely RIPS!
Definitely a hit for Arrma!
Absolutely. I think this car sends a message to both the budget RC world, and to the other big names companies.
Can you please help me decide?

wow That thing took more of a beating then i thought it could handle. Nice job
It's really tough, all it needs to be a BLX is a brushless swap basically.
Great bash and a very tough truck!

Looks like the fun never stops with this rc 👍👍👍
It is a blast. I'm taking it out again today.

WOW, what an epic bash. It performs very well for a 2wd 👍👍👍
Even if I didn't brushless swap it, it still would have been a lot of fun.
Bashtastic! Getting mine this weekend. Can’t wait.
AWESOME! I hope you do a video with it, I'd love to see!

A BLX version of this would be amazing. It's really good as it is, but as a BLX, it would be incredible.
Arrma parts list have the normal blx wheely bar down as fitting on the Gorgon
I heard that, and I'll be getting one for sure!
@@Rek_Rc yeah I only checked earlier on their site, I'm surprised I haven't seen one fitted yet maybe yours will be the first 😛
AWESOME VIDEO BRO!
Nice!!!🔥🔥
Thanks for checking it out!
cool, i need rc like this, for my channel :D
I love your channel, and yes this RC would be a great addition to it!
Another great video! That looks like a great budget truck!
In many ways, it's the very best budget RC ever. I can't believe how little I paid for such huge potential.

Nice one dude! Now I want to make it brushless too 🤣
Arrma made a good one with this! You'll love it as a brushless car, it's so much fun!
Cool passion. Fun videos. 😊
Thank you!
Did something go flying off at 4:50 ?? Good bash 👍
I was wondering that too. I saw it but nothing is missing from the truck
is it brushless upgraded? or did you just put a 2S to give it more power
That's upgraded with a high Kv brushless system.
How fast is the Gorgon with the stock motor and a 2S Lipo?
25 MPH. I did a full review in the last video covering pretty much anything you'd need to know if you're wondering about the ins and outs.
Try the Vorteks next. Put a Max10G2 with a 3665 and it rips!
I think the vorteks rips in stock form as all. We did a review of one and it was so fast, and handles really well also.
@@Rek_Rc I meant the "new" 550 Mega Vorteks with the Gorgon-like chassis!
@@jboulderct oh hahahah, I should have known that, totally slipped my mind
@@Rek_Rc Lol, too many similar RCs to keep track of these days

4wd would need a different chassis
Gorgon body on a big rock, swb krayton ?
What motor do you use? I’ve found a 3800 kv motor on Ali express but guess it won’t be as fast as yours?
The motor I used is too much. Yes it's very fast, but 3800 KV is just fine. I used a 6500Kv
@@Rek_Rc oh okay. Do you think it still will backflip easy on a 3800?
@@t3floz probably, it might not pull quadruple backflips like mine did, but at least it will be drive-able with less KV.
What kind of brushless system do you have in it
Sepkrum 6500KV 100a. It's only 100 dollars for the ESC and motor. At least that was the price 8 months ago

Wow!!
It's my pick for RC of the year. Even in stock form the quality just can't be beat for the price.
@@Rek_Rc I’m pretty damn impressed. It’s definitely not anything like tge voltage that’s for sure
One of the few that says gorgon correctly 😅
Thank you for saying that. Like 3 people said I say it wrong.
so basically, do the drywall tape and contact adhesive trick on the body before bashing :D
That's what a smart person would do, which excludes me hahahahahaha.
Yep, that's what smart people would do, I wish I was one of them.
