Spent 3 hrs bashing this beast today with 2s and 3s....Run in tall grass like a rocket, jumps, mud, sand.... Awesome little car!!! Love love love it. A real beast with super high durability. Wish hyperGo will produce a 1/10 scale with crazy performances and comparable durability.
It's one of the very best small scale budget rc cars ever made. I wish it had better parts support, but it's really tough so it should last a long time if driven reasonably.
MJX is coming out with a tenth scale, there is a promo video on RUclips. I didn't have a good time with my H14BM, screws fell out of the chassis and steering linkage even with LocTite. It needed a 25mm wheel extender, and handled better afterwards, but I returned it for a Granite BLX, but on the Granite you're gonna have to buy new diffs cuz they're plastic outer (ring?) gears that lasted me 5 weeks for the rear, 6 weeks for the front. I dunno about a 10th scale MJX, they have some issues with understanding how to properly scale, where the 16th scale truggies were better than the 14th scale (except their diffs on 16th sucked). And they're probably gonna do weird stuff like use deans connectors, which is absurd in a 10th scale or larger. The battery compartment is gonna be weird and proprietary, trying to force you into their battery packs, like Traxxas does. MJX need to bring more than just speed to the table with a 10th scale, it's gotta handle well and they're gonna have to do things like hold the hinge pins and a-arm pins in with screws instead of being pressure fit like the H14BM: my left rear pin had to be taped because the plastic got too loose and the pin just can fall out. It needs a screw to keep it tight.
@@Boogie_the_cat I had honestly the same issue and I temporarily solved as you did with tape and later making a small hole where I stuck a wltoys screw to lock the pin. During the last 2 runs (after I left my comment here) things got worse. The steering got loose/fluffy....I changed the tie rods with metal ones. Problem is still there. Now will try with a new servo but after this I will not invest further... It will run like it is till nothing else will get broken and when I will saved enough I will go for a Kraton 4s. Bigger investment but probably more reliable (at least I hope so).
Thanks for mentioning the throttle delay. It wouldn't be as big of a deal if the delay was just a Tx\Rx thing, but it's somehow an ESC delay, and the ESC is usually the most costly thing to replace. Please can someone tell me if stock tyres are good for sand? I mean on the beach. Moreover, what about water? Do you think I can use on the snow or under rain? Last, do these car need particular mechanical maintenance? Thank you
Well, when you say "stock tires", the version you're seeing in this video comes with the all terrain and the paddle tires, and they are tremendously good in sand. Not that I recommend it, but there are numerous videos on RUclips of people skimming this car right across deep enough water to submerge the car, but it just skims across on the surface because of the paddle tires. As far as maintenance, just keep it clean and dry after use, keep an ear out for your bearings, and the car will last as long as you want it to last. There is a newer version with a gyro stabilizer as well, but I'm not sure if that version includes the paddle tires or not. Snow and rain shouldn't be an issue for this car. Just try not to fully submerge it is all. Also be nice to the gears, as in don't be all over the throttle upon impact with the ground when landing a jump. It's all replaceable, but why do more work than you have to?
