Some other reviewers have noticed a few things. - It works fine for basic things (general web browsing, word, and excel). - Some popular work apps are not downloading (IntelliJ IDE, Power BI, ...etc) - Can only game via emulator. - Cannot run Linux on it... yet. May need driver updates before that happens.
Thank you for your question - the Surface Laptop doesn't have a 360 degree hinge no. It has the classic clamshell design, whereas the Surface Pro has the detachable typecover and the Surface Laptop Studio has the screen which can sit almost flat. We recommend checking out this video to see the devices that make up the Surface Family and help choose which is right for you: ruclips.net/video/ynrzeCS1VBY/видео.html Hope this helps!
It's an incredibly well built laptop with some great features, but Microsoft managed to make into an equally incredibly difficult purchase decision to get one. First, the base models are priced 200 euros higher in the EU. Then, every upgrade is 100 euros more expensive in addition, leading to 400 euros higher price for the 32GB model. This is downright alienating. Overall, the 32GB model costs 1000 euros more than the base model, and it literally doesn't offer anything more than that meager +16GB RAM - no higher class CPU, no OLED screen, nothing (it has a 1TB SSD, but many people will just replace that junk with a 2TB one). And 32GB is not a high amount of RAM for professionals... If someone wants to run VMs or docker containers, or wants to buy a slightly future-proof device, arguably 16GB is totally not enough. So, I'd have to pay 2500 euros for a Surface Laptop, which comes with an IPS screen while most other manufacturers offer an OLED screen for half the price, and I can't even select the keyboard layout - I'd be stuck with a German keyboard just because I happen to buy it in Germany*. Not to mention the heavy compromises of the current Snapdragon platform, especially for gaming and graphics workloads. And if someone decided to buy the base model instead, they can't even choose the color. I just wanted to explain to you while this product will mostly sell poorly, at least in some regions. *If you open Apple's website, you can see that you have many keyboard layout options for the Macbook laptops. Apple at least tries to provide extra services for their high price.
Wow! Now that sounds like a powerhouse of a Surface! This isn't one we have come across in the UK market, but configurations may vary across other worldwide markets and retailers.
That’s why they show battery life with video playback only… Never showing real life and 1/2 the apps you’re going to be using chugs battery (Firefox/Chrome are notorious for this)
@@shaun1900 no, vivobook has 70 wh battery? I think, surface also has 54 battery and they only claim 18hrs. But you gotta keep in mind their ENTIRE LAPTOP runs on 39W, while Lenovo pulls 62Watts from wall and samsung pulls 55. while rest have close to 70 wh batteries. I am not sure how much vivobook pulls, but it has bigger battery but also pulls more power
I know this isn't Microsoft channel.. But here goes. I understand a lot of us don't trust Microsoft.. And for good reasons.. They need to take it easy with the windows updates, so it's not nuked.. Try to break off the good/bad curse of windows. That said, I would still applaud them for the amazing job so far with this partnership with qualcomm.. This is needed and a good step. But, they don't have to copy Apple with these designs, it makes it hard to stand out. Even Lenovo has a better laptop identity than Microsoft... Asus too is defining theirs, but Microsoft just out rightly copies Apple which is weird. Still, great job, encourage devs to optimize apps and don't ruin windows.. More wins 🥂🙂
Thank you for your inquisitive comment - as mentioned above, UK chargers are quite chunky in comparison to other worldwide ports meaning that the box does need to be a little bigger to accommodate for this! Additionally, 70% of the packaging is made from recycled content in wood-based fiber and 100% of the virgin paper sourced for Surface packaging comes from responsibly managed forests 🌲
Recall is currently being moved to the Windows Insider Program so features can be tested and ensure the best standards of quality and security for general release!
@@josephle2381agree. I think the attention on this is overkill. As you say, turn it off if not wanted. Plus let’s not pretend Facebook / WhatsApp / Google (esp RUclips) isn’t stealing some sort of information from everyone every day!
@@josephle2381 people are crybabies and youtubers only want to make clickbait. Apple has been doing something similar to recall for ages and no one cares

Does Surface 7 come with a support # to call when you need help with any questions, I have always been an HP customer.
Thanks
I was originally gonna get a Refurbished Surface Laptop Studio, but this laptop might actually be my choice.
Nice review👍

Seems like the same when M1 launched. As expected. A year after, maybe more software will be on board.
So you're saying you can use copilot without internet
Copilot requires internet, he's talking about Recall
Is the laptop 360 degree rotate?

We very much agree! 😍🎉
Judging from the new Snapdragon XE powered Asus VivoBook reviews... the battery life claims might be a bit over hyped. 😂

Why the box is so thick? It could be 50% slimmer and save a lot of trees.
They had to put the charger under the laptop and with the uk plugs, they’re pretty big so the height of the box has to be a little more
