Does anyone else think that the fact that Daemon sent blood and cheese to kill one of Aegon’s sons, doesn’t fit with Daemons character and that it was Mysaria who arranged that whole thing. And when Daemon wrote that letter, when he said a son for a son, Daemon meant that he would kill Aemond one eye which he eventually does. I just don’t think the assassination of an infant fits with his character. Slaughtering a child or baby isn’t what Daemon does, killing Aemond in a dragon battle, that’s what Daemon is about. I predict that it will be revealed that Daemon never arranged that assassination. More maesters with their anti Daemon narrative.
That's a possibility. But remember his wife / lover lost his son and she was hurt. So she wanted aegon to be hurt the same way. So he targeted the kids of aegon. It's not what he does or what he likes but this is grrms world. No one is black and white. Hell even ned stark avoid honor in place of what is right......rarely.
What makes Daemon interesting it's the fact that he's as much as a charismatic heroic figure as a despicable murderer. Blood and Cheese it's really the lowest point even reached by the Blacks and "whitewashing" it wouldnt really give it justice. I also think eventually Daemon regretted that action too and was a key turning point for him try become a better person in the last months of his life (together with Nettles). It's not really a much worse act than Jaime's attempted assassination of Brann. Hell, Jaime's is even worse because he tried to murder a child in person.
Otto Hightower should not be underestimated in his ability to drive wedges between Targaryens. I would love to see if there was some Maester conspiracy involved in hyping up a civil war in influence with Otto. He made two brothers who loved each other deeply, intensely mistrust each other. Daemon lost his own son on a ship to Lys because of Otto's whispering influence to the king. Daemon has hot blood and for reasons I am interested in being portrayed, he becomes extremely loyal to his niece. I very much see him able to orchestrate this awful thing for vengeance, blood and loyalty. I am fascinated to see what happens with his character.
@@jessjess23brooks89 yeah there is a theory where the Hightowers r in a way doing the maesters dirty work to cause strife among dragons hoping to end their reign and in turn the magical presence. Afterall the maesters kinda hate magic
I totally agree that Daemon's morality is loyalty. That explains a lot of his choices throughout Fire and Blood, especially since his motivation doesn't seem to be the throne, for all that the maesters would love to convince us of that, and most if not all of his choices seem to be motivated by his loves and hates. The Queen Who Never Was is definetely going to be one of the most interesting characters. I actually think Rhaegar's daughter Rhaenys may have been named for her (they're both dark haired female Targaryen, one was once the heir to the throne, the other has a dornish mother - and dornish inheritance is by absolute primogeniture, so they have that "could've been the heir" thing in common). Besides, if Rhaegar had been trying to recreate the conquerors' trio, he'd have named his eldest daughter Visenya.

Knowing that Ryan C is a fan of the books and has a solid grasp on this beautiful world George has created gives me such hope and optimism for the show. There is a synergy happening right now between us readers/show fans, GRRM, RC & MS that is palpable. The only thing that might possibly make it more exciting is if they screened it on IMAX! Thanks, Lightbringer! I enjoy the hell out of your channel.
I like the fact that the dragons look different from one another. They can mate with eachother, so we know that they should be of the same species. Thus, the result is that they have produced breeds/subspecies. This could be taken as the result of selective breeding (artificial selection), the way that humans have traditionally done with dogs and cats. That might imply something like treating them as a pet or farm animal or work animal (like a horse). But we also know that the Valyrians were practicing genetic engineering and blood magic and stuff. And some of these changes are like having an extra pair of wings, which seems pretty drastic to me from the dog breed perspective. Thus, I am going to go with the interpretation that the Valyrians were experimenting on dragons even as they were doing so on humans and other things. These creatures are, partially, monstrosities which humans have made in their scientific and magical hubris.

But he also said something along the lines of not all Targs are immune to fire at all times. So there seems to be at least a varying resistance to heat... I mean, Dany does love her "scalding hot" baths and there at least seems to be that instance in Daznaks pit when she comes very close to Drogons fire and her hair burns, but her head is unharmed
Just want to say I was sleep deprived delirious and trying to sort laundry when David went to blow his nose and played the Funky music An unexpected groove session ensued 😌🎧🎹🎶🎸
It would make sense if the long night prophecy is hidden in the catspaw dagger, since it's what killed the night king in S8. Nice little tie-in for the two shows.
Holy. Shit. The amount of effort and thought that went into thinking up the biology of a mythical creature is incredible. Like I watched a rotten tomato interview with Miguel and Ryan where they discussed how they wanted to make Caraxes into this extra long, deformed runt. But, after consulting with their team, they realized that Caraxes would be too long to be able to fly. So they decided to give him those extra wing sails on the back to make him more aerodynamic. Like realistically, nothing of that size would be able to fly irl, but the fact they took into consideration real world aerodynamics for a fictional creature is outstanding. And the weight thing! That's exactly how such a huge creature would die in the real world. This is such incredible world building and makes me super hyped! 🐉🐉🐉
The worst part of GoT for me, aside from what they did to Dany, was watching Viserion and Rhaegal die. I don't think I'm gonna watch HoD. It might be a good story, but every one of the dragons comes to a tragic end, and the dragon-on-dragon violence is just sad.
.... That will be a very depressing experience. But hey we have survived trauma right? But nothing can beat the brutality of this show. Human deaths can be felt and forgotten but the deaths of the dragons........ Shits gonna hit like a truck.
Finally! Some like-minded folks! I’ve been waiting like the rest of you for HotD but I’ve dreaded the dying of the dragons. I’ll either been crying like a nut or leave the room while my husband watches the show. I can’t handle suffering of any animals, even fantasy ones.🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🙅🏻♀️🙍🏻♀️👩🏻
I wonder if they’ll bring Bran into this series. Like in a vision/dream of him looking back in time and seeing these characters and they getting a glimpse of him. Maybe Viserys sees him in his dream?
To me it actually makes more sense that displaying dragons skulls in the throne room wasn't a thing until AFTER the Dance- both for the reasons you mentioned (more dragon skulls available after 132), but also since the later generations of Targs no longer had living dragons, it makes sense they would depend on dead dragons to display their power.
I’m so glad I found your videos. I was watching many of the trailers of HotD and intertwined are pure trash videos of content creators who haven’t read the source material, Have only read interviews. You all are smart, knowledgeable Dragon folks👍🏼.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 somebody please make 39:30 a meme lmaooo that’s how im gonna look at all the ppl that said they weren’t watching but somehow end up on hbo on Aug 21st. Lmaoo
Hey LML this has been on my mind. Did House Targ always know about the three heads of the dragon prophecy? The fact that Aegon the first chose to make his house sigil a dragon with 3 heads leads me to believe that they did.
My only wonder about the 4 statues in the throne room is why they would include Maegor. Maegor may have been king but he wasn't well liked, especially by Jahearys who would presumably have been the one to put up his statues, as his successor.
Honestly, I wouldn’t mind if HOTD was a more niche hit. Obviously I want it to be a great show, but I’m okay if not everyone I meet wants to talk about it. Slightly less attention might also help GRRM stay focused.
Ooh that's a good one! I think its like recessive genes, where it just skips a generation. Oh and it's maybe also tied to personality. Like it always struck me as weird how only the 'weaker, nuttier' Targaryens were the ones that never got dragons, or weren't fire resistant
“Why are only some Targaryens immune to fire? As the author himself once said in an online chat with ASOIF fans, in his book universe, Targaryens are not immune from fire-Dany surviving the dragon birth was a miracle. TARGARYENS ARE NOT IMMUNE TO FIRE! The birth of Dany's dragons was unique, magical, wonderous, a miracle. May 14, 2019”
If we’re crossing our fingers for prequels, I want a GOTD one. Like, give me court intrigue and dracomorphs - the first dragon, and what happens after. I mean, just sayin

Holy.
yeah i saw that after this stream/.. amazing. It's the sign of creators reveling in the material instead of keeping it arm's length
😆 Gotta give you a comment for the Princess Bride reference (and for the algorithm), had such a laugh!!
The worst part of GoT for me, aside from what they did to Dany, was watching Viserion and Rhaegal die. I don't think I'm gonna watch HoD. It might be a good story, but every one of the dragons comes to a tragic end, and the dragon-on-dragon violence is just sad.
I'm definitely gonna have to skip those scenes! 😭
Haha honestly it’s gonna be brutal. Post game show will be therapy some weeks
@@SeeFair23 yeah. Human deaths meh. Animal deaths..... Days of trauma.
Great stream! 🐉❤️
More on the glyphs please. Interview David Peterson would be awesome!
Really glad they mixed the dragon asthetics up a little bit. Loved GOT's Raptor look, but Caraxes' long ass neck and sinister skull are soooo dope
lol "What's-that-guy, Jaehaerys."
“You know, the road-builder guy”
Week of the Dragon!!!! I LOVE that so much, I might use it myself. That should be an official holiday.
My favourite Targaryen analyst ✌️❤️
Great stream.
I appreciate it, thank you!
A Peterson interview on this channel would be a dream come true🤩🤩🤩
🐉🐲 enjoyed this one, as expected. Thx
I wonder if they’ll bring Bran into this series. Like in a vision/dream of him looking back in time and seeing these characters and they getting a glimpse of him. Maybe Viserys sees him in his dream?
I really doubt it
Doubtful
never
Nice one, also great shirt!
great stream
Watching after the fact (busy week). Can't wait for more dragons.
Maybe Daemon is only mostly dead after fighting his son Aemond. We just gotta get him that pill.
Hahaha nice
Thoughts on Caraxes being deformed in the show being an early sign of maester poisoning/magic dying in the world.
Oh hey that’s an interesting one. That didn’t even occur to me! I am looking for signs of the conspiracy as you know, so I’ll file that away
I think it's more to do with inbreeding from a small stock of dragons.
Yes! More smooth Lightbringer remixes!!!!!
Love the Tool shirt.
Many many thanks
Wait, runes that only show themselves in the flames?!!! Martin’s love for LOTR shining through there.
I’d poo-poohed the idea of Road Building dragons, but this launch/land difficulty with huge old ones puts use to those become less nimble.
Now I'm kinda worried about Vhagar since she lands her legs hurt.
I’m so glad I found your videos. I was watching many of the trailers of HotD and intertwined are pure trash videos of content creators who haven’t read the source material, Have only read interviews. You all are smart, knowledgeable Dragon folks👍🏼.
Hey thank you! We know you have choices, and thanks for choosing us! Hahah
Do you think maybe winds will be yhe last book? I feel like he's making winds bigger to finish the story in the next book
I’ve been wondering if two books was gonna be enough for a long time so I have no idea
🔥🔥🔥
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 somebody please make 39:30 a meme lmaooo that’s how im gonna look at all the ppl that said they weren’t watching but somehow end up on hbo on Aug 21st. Lmaoo
I am so damn giddy with anticipation. 8/21 is gonna be fun on the bun when you let me and Girl Nettles loose on the things you already know 😆
Hey LML this has been on my mind. Did House Targ always know about the three heads of the dragon prophecy? The fact that Aegon the first chose to make his house sigil a dragon with 3 heads leads me to believe that they did.
that's honestly a **great** observation. People say he did that because of him and his 2 sisters, but... yeah
I can't... Dwagons awe what bwings us togeva today... Omg forgot all about that 🤣
Haha that was a total spur of the moment thing, no idea where it came from 🤣
Hi, Where do you buy your house of the dragon merchandise?
I wonder if the dragons from Valyria will be able to respond in High Valyreon
deep them super deep gravelly voices... or little squeaky ones, like Mike Tyson hahaha
@@DavidLightbringer 🤣 I can picture super deep voices. Either way, I'd pass tf out if they were to respond.
syrax is the current cutest looking dragon
I cannot find your video about Aerea ??
My only wonder about the 4 statues in the throne room is why they would include Maegor. Maegor may have been king but he wasn't well liked, especially by Jahearys who would presumably have been the one to put up his statues, as his successor.
Possibly just because he was a king, bad or not
I love getting philosophical about dragons 😌 🤔
How long do you think we will have to wait for season two?
So what other skulls could they use for designs if not for this show than for other things with dragons?
Honestly, I wouldn’t mind if HOTD was a more niche hit. Obviously I want it to be a great show, but I’m okay if not everyone I meet wants to talk about it. Slightly less attention might also help GRRM stay focused.
Nice extra ibfo
Will we ever know why some Targaryen s can literally be on fire while some can't touch a hot knife
It’s sporadic. The immunity it miraculous, it standard.
Ooh that's a good one! I think its like recessive genes, where it just skips a generation. Oh and it's maybe also tied to personality. Like it always struck me as weird how only the 'weaker, nuttier' Targaryens were the ones that never got dragons, or weren't fire resistant
I think GRRM addressed this question, saying what happened with Dany and fire was special only to her…?
“Why are only some Targaryens immune to fire?
As the author himself once said in an online chat with ASOIF fans, in his book universe, Targaryens are not immune from fire-Dany surviving the dragon birth was a miracle. TARGARYENS ARE NOT IMMUNE TO FIRE! The birth of Dany's dragons was unique, magical, wonderous, a miracle. May 14, 2019”
Here again, 'cause last time I only had audio and couldn't look at the nice pictures or enjoy LmL's face.
If we’re crossing our fingers for prequels, I want a GOTD one. Like, give me court intrigue and dracomorphs - the first dragon, and what happens after.
I mean, just sayin
Hot of house pie, the one and only true king of westeross
more than half of those saying they wont watch it are just being spiteful and obviously wont resist the curiosity of watching it after its out and everyone is hyped and talking about it because it will be great and because it will dominate all channels or blogs for ASOIAF content
