- Today's video is a look at the 75 gallon fish tank in our classroom. We currently have a Jack Dempsey, Salvini, Green Terror, and a convict cichlid in this aquarium.
We've needed to do a major tank cleaning on this one. I've been keeping up with weekly water changes during the pandemic, so the fish are healthy and water parameters are great- but aesthetically, there was definitely some work needed.

That Green Terror is a stunning fish....
Gold saum looks amazing 🤝
Thank you!
Great job! Guess it's time to go clean my 75. Thanks for the motivation.
My favourite tank and favourite Cichlids together 😍
Greetings from Mexico, beautiful Cichlids
love this!
Really wish my saum had that beautiful coloration and more orange on the fins
Looks a lot better!
Sweet and I loved it.....
Thxs for sharing ✊🏽
They even look happier
Nice tank!!
great content as usual 👏
Thank you!
Finally! This is the content we all subbed for
Finally set up my 135 gal as an American cichlid tank. Got a huge oscar, a few convicts,a jack dempsey, a blood parrot, turquoise severum and a few synodontis catfish. This was certainly a big inspiration for that. Still looking for a good size green terror
Awesome, sounds like a great setup. Thanks for following along!
Nice!
Great vid and beautiful fish man
Thanks for watching!
@@CichlidBros You got it
Awesome video
Thanks!
Very nice aquarium Brou
Nicely done! See how long they let you keep your scape!!
Haha, thanks! I’m sure the Salvini will get to work on it soon
The smartest way to add salt!
Nice fishes god bless
Love the vida
May I ask some questions? First question : I add tonic salt to my Malawi chiclids water but I was told to only add one tea spoon to my 4ft long tank? Am I adding to little? As you seem to add 10times the amount I was told to? And second question is : what’s the advantages of a wave maker as I’ve always been told you don’t need wave makers for fresh water fish ? Many thanks dude! Love the videos 👍🏼
Looks great. What air stone is that ?
Are you running a canister filter on the 75 and an HOB?
And what is the canister filter you have for that tank?
Does the driftwood bring the ph down of your tank?
Do you think you will add anymore fish to this aquarium? I also have a 75 gallon with to Jack’s in it currently. I’m wondering what else I should add. Currently considering Sevrums and or Electric Blue Acaras. Your green terror looks awesome.
I'll probably keep stock as is, since these guys will get bigger. Both of those options would likely work well. And thank you!
Nice video, How big is your Jack Dempsey?
Thanks! He’s about 6-7 inches
I watched this video for a reference point for my aquarium. I have a 90 gallon bow front corner tank. I have a couple angels and a blue Acara. I had two blue Acara but lost my male on Saturday. I really miss these bigger angry Central American cichlids. I used to have a 125 full of them. Thinking of redoing my 90 gallon and putting in a couple Central Americans or a single wet pet like a Flowerhorn. Do you have any stocking suggestions???
Those are both great options. We're actually making a video on this exact topic which will be posted within the next week!
Where can I get those natural gravel?
Hello! Nice cichlids! What kind of substrate do you have on the tank? TIA
Thanks! These two mixed together:
- Eco-Complete Substrate: bulkreefsupply.sjv.io/eK7DDZ
- Imagitarium Black Sand: amzn.to/3UxUB5Q
hi ther hey great video I have a question what side do the wave maker goes on the where water return or on the intake side I'm not sure what size is it at the bottom or the top
Thanks! I usually put the wavemaker on the opposite end of the filter intakes, which pushes debris towards the filters. The one in the video is a hydor koralia pump.
@@CichlidBros oh so u put it at the top on the same side as the intake I understand now I will push all go waste into canister thank you so much for the info do you have a video about the way from 1/3 how to set it up and where to put it if you have the video what's the name I'll go video I can look again I really like your RUclips videos keep them coming thanks again
What is the TDs of ur tank?
Just got a green terror and it's funny my son named him joker
Great name!
So I do a 25% water change every week and like it gets cloudy after 2 days and stays like that till my next water change, I need help!!!!
Is it a relatively new aquarium? If so, it could be going through an algae bloom. One of our next videos will be on fixing cloudy water!
I don't see any fighting...how did you get them to all coexist together?
Grew them up together and gave them solid hiding spots. Also got lucky with a docile Jack Dempsey
Isn't this giant root in the middle of the tank blocking the swimming space. I was told not to block the swimming area.
For these cichlids, it’s been a way of managing aggression and breaking line of sight. They’re able to get away from one another when needed. For other types though, you’re right - you may need swimming space
Will all those work fully grown in a 75 gallon tank? Im about to do a 75 myself
They should be okay, but aggression is the concern long term. Always something to monitor and having back up tanks is a good idea
Hey what’s the best canister filter to have with a 75 gallon ?
I like the Penn Plax cascade elite or the Sicce whale
@@CichlidBros thanks for responding so fast
You guys have one of the best fish channels in my opinion. but you washed all your decorations in tap water ! Aren’t you worried about killing off your beneficial bacteria ?
Thank you! And great question. Not too worried about it since the substrate and two large filters, which have the majority of the beneficial bacteria, weren’t washed in tap water. We always use tank water for our filter maintenance 👍🏻
How are your green terrors with live plants?
He usually tries to uproot or rip them apart. I went with fake plants due to that
Nice they look real
What kind of soil is that ? Or sand whatever you wanna call it
Imaginarium black gravel
great. now can you do mine.....lmao. i have a female green terror. the boss of my tank is the little black convict. he's protection the fry in my tank.
What is the tank size actually..?
a standard 75 gallons
Sexy fish in a sexy tank.. well done brother
Are I sure that's a 75gal?? It looked like a 40gal ,.. maybe it's the camera angle?, idk.. a nice tank though..
Yep it is. The fish are pretty big, so it might throw off the scale. But thanks!
Are those real plants ?
Nope artificial
