I'm glad you took the fake driftwood out. I had a large one in a 55 gallon several years ago. All of a sudden was loosing all my fish. When I broke the aquarium down I found that the dead space inside of the driftwood had the most terrible smell. I guess it was releasing toxic gasses into the water. I have never used fake ornaments that the water cannot circulate all the way through since. Lesson learned.

Love the 75 tank setup and fish choice. I set my 75 gallon American cichlid tank up about a month ago. I went with a odd ball selection of 7 fish, but they are working out really well so far with a clear pecking order in place already. I have:
    Tiger Oscar
    Electric Blue Jack Dempsey
    Geophagus Winemilleri
    Geophagus Sveni
    Electric Blue Acara
    Blood Red Parrot
    Hybrid "marbled" convict

I'm just setting up a 75. Those fish sound prity close to what i want. I was afraid the tank would be too small for the oscar. How is everything going ?

I love your South American cichlids tank. I’m amazed that you have an Oscar in the tank and it’s seems so calm.
I’ve only been in the hobby for about a year now and I have finally switched to South American cichlids also. Thinking I may indeed need a 180 gallon next as I only have a 180 litre. Thanks again for sharing your tanks, one of the best South American community tanks I’ve seen by far

I love how that makes the surface of the water look!!! Totally putting one in my cichlid tank😍.. I need to educate myself more on the different ph levels per fish.. How important is it?? . I have 4 different kinds already and looking to add 3 more to this community tank before the end of the year... fingers crossed!

I also have a 75 gallon cichlid tank. But I don't have the best luck keeping different cichlids together. Maybe I'm choosing the wrong fish. Currently is easily my best group so far. Electric blue acara (tank boss), and seems to be a bit larger than most I see in videos. Perfect tank boss. Only gets aggressive when challenged. Rainbow cichlid (2nd to boss), Geophagus Tapajos which is a slow grower, and a dwarf flag cichlid. The flag cichlid and geophagus are about the same size. The flag cichlid and rainbow cichlid pick on the geophagus. As he grows he fights back and is holding his own. I see you have several geos together. And the aggression seems very minimal. Should I add a couple more geos or maybe another electric blue acara? Or just leave the group as is....

I love watching your videos. I am getting a 75 gallon aquarium and stand gifted to me in the future. Do you think it would be doable to have a pair of angelfish, a pair of EBA/blue acara, a pair of keyhole cichlids, and a pair of Bolivian Rams in a planted 75 with some Colombian red and blues, marble hatchetfish, and some harlequin rasboras? Or am I being way too ambitious with the types and amount of fish I would like to put?

    Great video and channel!
I have 2 electric blue acara in the same tank, they have been showing breeding behaviours (shaking around each other and cleaning spots in the tank together) but it's been going on for about a month+ now and they just don't lay eggs. They end up fighting a little and resuming breeding behaviour sometime later. In the meantime, they are aggressive to other tank mates. Should I let them have some more time or could it be that they are 2 males that just happen to try and breed and fight because they fail? Should I separate if so?

I had something similar with my tank I had a pair of German rams and when they laid eggs the male would chase my full grown blood parrot

Question: how should my water flow be? Slow moving on surface or fast movement,? I have Geophagus red heads, heckilli, sveni, and surmensis. Actually, you got me to love Geophagus fish.

Love the multis! My multi tank has not had fry in a really long time - any recommendations or something I should look out for?

I would just say more shells if you can fit them, or live baby brine

The fry won’t make it- is there a father? Or is it necessary to have a male fertilize eggs? I hear that their are fish who makes fry with out the male.
