    Honda Fit headlights can be a little more difficult to replace than your average car. Here is the easiest way (in my opinion) to replace them. I may as well try out some new LED bulbs while I am at it.

    I just needed to change the small peanut bulb above the headlight and other videos would have had me take off the bumper, etc. This method was quick and easy! Thank you for saving me time and money.

      Taking off the front bumper is very easy I would say it'll take the same amount of time as this method or faster. Just 4 clips under the hood and two Philips screws then pull. Much more comfortable and plenty of work room. Then there's 4 10mm bolts on each headlight to remove, which are very easy to access.

      Hi Amy, would you tell me the name of the "small peanut bulb' above the headlight? I ran the same problem and cannot find the replacement because i don't know the name. Thanks for your answer

      You don't need to do any if that. Just open the hood and access the bulb from above.

      I should add that, on my 2010 Honda Fit, there is a wire retainer behind the bulb that needs to be pulled slightly up and away to release the bulb.

    If these bulbs are truly designed to not blind drivers, most LEDS on the road are poorly designed. People with astigmatisms like me (33% of the population) are constantly and painfully blinded by oncoming traffic we well as lights in our rearview mirrors. It feels like almost everyone has high beams on these days. When not looking directly at my mirrors, the lights appear to flicker, so I think someone is trying to signal me by flashing their lights.

    • @adrian111-
      @adrian111- 25 дней назад

      The ones that flicker are the xenon lights I noticed this as well the other day I was being blinded and I thought they were flicking the high beams on purpose. Tbh most people do have high beams on. Best you can do is blind them back and it’s sad

    just did this and tore my arm up on the first side lol. a few tips if youre about to do this:
    - turn your wheel outward rather than in, you need the room up top not the side.
    - the metal clip is pretty hard to get on over the new LED light...it is possible tho you just have to push hard (you can see it clip in from the front of the light if you find it hard to feel out)
    - also regarding the metal clip, push it ALL the way out to slide the new LED in way easier, if you dont it's really finicky to find the three slots
    - dust cover trick works awesome.

    Good video! Thank you.
    I'll give 2 pieces of advice. First, get the lenses restored/cleaned. That's the first step. Always. Because, no matter what kind of bulb you install behind the lens, if the lens is not clear, the light will reflect back into the lens and you won't see the benefit of the LED bulb or any other bulb. Second, I recommend not installing the dust cover back. The LEDs need plenty of cooling and heat dissipation for the chip. If they overheat, the chip fails. Most vehicles don't even come with those rubber boots. Those LEDs you installed are ok. I prefer Lasfit. The beam pattern is more consistent and they are a US based company with a great track record. Cheers!

    I did the same conversion in my 2009 FIT. They are brighter, but don't produce a beam, but kind of light up everything around. I'm not sure if I liked them or not. I eventually replaced both headlamps which had the standard bulb. I have left it that way. Not sure if the LEDs really give you that much advantage.

I looked at these Fahren bulbs for my 2019 Honda Fit LX and Amazon is flagging these as “Does not fit.” Is that because of the external driver? • @mdcbert
      @mdcbert Год назад

      Daytime running lights use both of the high beams of the halogen bulbs at half voltage, some cars they are connected in series. LEDs are full brightness down to 3 volts, so NO! You don’t want DRLs with aftermarket LEDs, you will blind everyone during the day….

    • @El_Diablo_LI
      @El_Diablo_LI Год назад +1

      The 2007 Honda Fits sold in the US do not have Daytime Running Lights.
      Personally, I'm not a big fan of DRL's anyway, because so many people think their lights come on automatically at night as well, and because they think this is the case, they drive around constantly at night with no rear running lights, which is so dangerous, especially when they're driving a black or dark colored vehicle. They have no idea about this problem.
      And when you try to flick your lights at them to let them know, all they do is give you weird looks.

    Kevin, one question I have is, do your LED bulbs cause any interference on your vehicle's radio?
    I installed LED headlight bulbs on my 2007 Fit about 5 years ago and when I did, I immediately noticed interference on my radio at night when my headlights were on. Mostly on AM stations, but also some weaker FM stations as well.
    One of the bulbs failed about a year ago so I purchased a different pair, and this time there's no interference at all.
    I'm just curious if you've noticed any interference with the bulbs that you're recommending and I wanted to inform others that this can happen with some brands of LED bulbs you might purchase on the internet.

    • @kevinsgarage
      @kevinsgarage  Год назад

      I thankfully haven't noticed any difference with the radio. I dont listen to AM so I cant report on that, but FM works just fine after the installation.

  • @relprelp

    Well good video, but the way you have kept the dust cover is not appropriate the dust cover needs a bit trimming on the the bulb holder side, the led holder needs to be installed 1st then penetrating the led bulb in the dust cover. Installing the bulb and dust cover simultaneously. I know it is tough I have done it in honda amaze a sedan version. But unfortunately in honda jazz n fitt there is no space to use the procedure I mentioned but this procedure will never let dust enter in your reflector. I wish I had sources to put my words into video.
    But appreciate your efforts and work!
