    I organize by alphabetical runs, I’ve come into a problem as I’ve gotten more single issues than the trade paperbacks. I want to keep them together but I can’t put the trades in the long boxes!

    I only really collect X-Men and Star Wars titles so I organise by Publisher>>Story Arc in reading order.
    It requires a hell of a lot of dividers and hours of research but it allows me to group floppies together from other runs for cross overs.
    E.g
    I would have a divider saying Black Vortex Event, list all the books on the label and group them all together
    Guardians of the Galaxy #24-25
    All-New X-Men #38-39
    Legendary Star-Lord #9-11
    etc
    This means you don't need to worry about having a read order to hand and you will know when to read things like annuals.

      Ah I love it! I absolutely love the idea of putting the in a "read order." But when you have a larger collection, I think that sometimes gets in the way of making it feasible.

      @@JernosComicsPopCulture I have a question. I have a few runs where I have a lot of issues of, but I also have a lot of single issues and miniseries. How would I sort? I can't give every miniseries its own divider. And if i don’t, later a miniserie that starts with the B will be sorted by batman. Do you have any advice?

    • @JernosComicsPopCulture
      @JernosComicsPopCulture  2 года назад +1

      @@thijsverhoeven2192 If I'm understanding you correctly, I do this: If I have a character like Ghost Rider, and I have my main divider/tab for his main runs, I'll throw any miniseries pertaining to that character behind the main runs, and alphabetize by mini series title. For example, say I had two mini series titled, "Ghost Rider: Return of Vengeance," and another titled, "Ghost Rider: Devil's Playground," I would but "Devil's Playground" in front of "Return of Vengeance" because D comes before R, if that makes sense.

    • @thijsverhoeven2192

      @@JernosComicsPopCulture Thanks for the advice! I already had that in mind. But the thing is: I starded reading and buying comics around a year ago. But I was dumb. I watched face book live sales where they put all kinds of comics. Mostly I just bought #1 issues cause I thought that would be handy because I was a new reader. I often did not really knew what I was buying. So now I only have 1 comic of many characters. So I really don’t know how to organize my collection! But now I really do my research before I buy comics and I think good of which series I want to collect instead of buying 1 issue of a lot of series. Anyways: do you have any idea of how I could organize my collection?

      Yes! I'm organizing my room right now to get ready for my annual room tour video, and boy is my OCD driving me nuts because I'm battling if I keep pulling my keys for their own boxes or keep them with their runs, and if I do keep the keys separate, do I only pull ones over a certain value?? I'm driving myself crazy! lol

  • @comicgainz5553
    @comicgainz5553 2 года назад

    Do you think we lose money if we collect runs rather than focusing on keys? Having a pull list or hunting, how do you decide what to collect and speculate? Thank you brother! 🙏🏼💯

    • @JernosComicsPopCulture
      @JernosComicsPopCulture  2 года назад +1

      That's a great question! I think it depends on what runs. If you're collecting nothing but 90s to modern runs? Then maybe I'd say yes. But legacy runs, or runs from silver, bronze or copper ages? I would say no. Because so many books that used to be bargain books are now keys themselves, and even commons have increased in value as well.

    • @JernosComicsPopCulture
      @JernosComicsPopCulture  4 года назад

      Okay interesting thing here. I am a huge baseball/sports fan. I used to go to games all the time and bring a ball for players to sign. I have dozens of signed balls, signed baseball cards, etc. But, as a comic collector, I actually don't like having my books signed. It actually doesn't appeal to me at all. It's weird, I know. I have maybe 10 signed books and that's it. A Leifield, and a few others, plus about 6 Ron Lim books.

    Do you pay any attention to the legacy numbering when you organize your collection?

    • @JernosComicsPopCulture
      @JernosComicsPopCulture  4 года назад

      Good question! For the most part, those issues stay in chronological order. So even if they resort back to a legacy number and are considered "volume one," I won't put them in my volume one box, I'll just leave them behind the most current issues regardless.
