Great shoutout to John, and his constant support for Londo. 🙂 This is a good episode in my opinion, though I agree it is not a great one. We did get some good answers to our telepath questions though. And we certainly got a case where the "good guys" had a major set-back. Oh, and have all episodes of the Grey 17 podcast have the line, "And you can send your hate-mail to..."? 😁That could be the unofficial tagline of the podcast.
I have to say, as someone who watched the show when it aired, this is my ABSOLUTE favorite episode of the whole show. Yes it's not exciting and we don't get to see most of the cast, but I found the Conversation between Garibaldi and Edgars FACINATING. Especially the part about people not seizing power but being given power by the masses because they are afraid or stupid. As a history buff, I absolutely recognize this in history over and over again (including recent history). I also loved the moral dilemma that this episode posits: How can you reconcile the existence of telepaths in a society with the expectation of privacy without turning them into either a Slave group (like with the Psycorps) or a Ruling class (as Clark was turning them into)? I could spend hours discussing the concepts in this episode. Sorry to hear you guys didn't like it as much as I do.
I'm with Scott regarding the Streib. Not least because theres a passing mention in the canonical Technomage trilogy to the Streib being one of the races drawn to Z'Ha'Dum.
Also because of parsimony - why have *three* Fire in the Sky abduction type aliens? And we differentiate between the Vree (who do it for gits and shiggles) versus the Streib (who do it for nefarious experiments).
Emily's predictions for the telepaths sound similar to the final season of BSG in tone, and I like the concept.
Another good podcast episode. Great job.

I didn't guess it first time around, and I was horrified when Sheridan's plan became clear.

I always put the "lack of chemistry" down to whatever was going on in Garibaldi's head - I thought it was an intentional acting/direction choice.
It is interesting to hear that it was a genuine problem with how the cast members worked together.
If the new episode doesn't show up by Wednesday, I can usually find it by searching for Grey 17.

That was really mean gaslighting of Justin when his prediction for the telepaths was spot on 😂
Also: I really struggle with that. I like Sheridan most of the time, but that use of the telepaths, who are civillians, and to which they absolutely could not consent, is (I'm pretty sure) a war crime. And the reaction of the commander of the fleet he does it to is basically "hey, well played there". The only person pissed at him for it is Bester, and even HE only cares about whether or not he used Carolyn.
Happiness is the exercise of vital powers along lines of excellence in a life affording them scope!

Does Edgars know about Bester? Probably not. He just knows the Corps and the Psy Cops are a danger.
Does Bester know about Edgars???

Bester says in the tube ride (coming up) that he knew there were forces with plans for his telepaths, but he never points the finger at Edgars, until he got the info from Garibaldi.
Also...
It's a pity Breurau 13 was canned, because making a sleeper agent like this was absolutely in their department.

It's bizarre that even after this episode the newbies _still_ think Edgars and Bester are working together. I look forward to their reaction to the next episode.
