@@IansFishRoom I am breeding Koi Swordtail (XIPHOPHORUS HELLERI) they tend to eat their babies and this box works amazingly. Thank you again you a fish life saver lol
I used to use these to breed swords back in the 80's. Good to see they are still round. I am getting back into tropicals after a long hiatus followed by a long foray into north American native fish. I just got 5 swords that I would like to breed.
This is my favorite breeder box design just wish it was about twice the size.
Awesome video, I really like the ingenuity behind this design but I do agree it could be a little bit bigger!

Is the standpipe in the collecting section removable?
Also what are the dimensions of the birthing chamber? How much space/ what are the dimensions between the bottom of the slat to the top water level. Also how much space is between the grate and the side walls? Enough space for a CPD to slip through?
The standpipe is not removable. I will check the dimensions and get back to you on that. The space between the grate and side walls would not be large enough for CPD to slip through.
Good stuff! Have you tried it with egg scattering breeds, like danios? do you think it will work?
I think it would be way too small to get even the smaller danios to engage in breeding behavior in this breeder box.
What kind of air pump are you using?
I believe it was just one of these USB air pumps that I'm linking below but any small air pump will do as you can turn down the flow with a valve.
