I think it is a combination of having worked/written/performed together for so long that they are just able to be on the same wavelength comedically, and also great editing
The "from what I've been able to suss out" whole thing, and the way it's so confidently said, made my skin crawl. It's just such a viscerally uncomfortable string of words to listen to put together so badly, while also making complete sense.
I honestly didn't like Geoff playing the Amir type character at first, but he grew on me and I can't stop smiling from how good he plays the crazy guy.
