One of the smartest things I have ever seen putting the tires under the jeep!!! Never seen that before but it could save your life if you had cadustrfic failure. AWESOME!!
I need to do the rear axle seals on my 99 sport and I wish I had other friends nearby to help me. This video gives me some confidence but being that it is my daily, i’m still not confident enough to do it! I may buy all the parts for the job and get there like I was for changing the trans/diff/transfer case oil. Great videos man! You’re a great help for inexperienced guys like me.
Thanks for the vid...very interesting pointers. I have an 2001 tj sport and like doing my own work but, will only take it so far in fear of screwing something up. I appreciate channels like Arkansas Offroad being out there.
As always, another great video. You absolutely get the gold star for having just the right type of cleaning agent for every imaginable part of the Jeep. Awesome. Thanks for taking the time to share this with us.
Nice job. Imagine all the money shops make when you have work done on the diff. They make it sound like it's brain surgery. Here's a tip on those fuel cleaner/additives(other than seafoam); they're nothing more than kerosene. I add about a pint of kerosene to a tank of gas every now and then. My '02 TJ runs great with it.
Fuel injector cleaner definitely works and is great to use regularly to maintain a nice mist from the injectors. It works best if you use when you're low on fuel so it's more concentrated. I drop in two bottles of Seafoam every once in a while when I'm under 1/4 tank. Using good gas like Chevron which has some cleaners built into it helps out too. Also, Seafoam you can put into your oil before you plan to do an oil change. 1 oz per qt of oil and it'll clean things up and quiet stuff down as you drive.
I thought you had lockers absolutely enjoy the videos and I’m doing on board air thanks for making everything look easy enough. Though I gotta ask did you take the wiper fluid bottle out ?
For years I thought he had lockers on the old TJ too! I JUST TODAY found out that he did not and after seeing all the camping and exploring (same level of stuff I want to do with my TJ) I feel better about it. Makes me re-assess my budget and breathe a little easier knowing the Jeep is still capable without them.
couldnt help but notice,i have same wheels as you do.So my question is what type and where did you get the longer lug nits ?It is so hard for mr to put my wheels back on because the nuts are recessed so far back in wheel.Did you put in longer studs to be able to get nut on easier or just longer nuts? Great job friend, you did great.sincerely Robert
Awesome video, thanks for posting. Great looking jeep - love watching you're videos. (I tjinknthe a bit handier than the "average guy " you elude to). I almost dropped my coffee When ya said your shop was going to charge about 3400 - that's a new axle(or a bunch a fancy Milwaukee tools)..wtf.. and ya did it in a day...or less. Good work. (I appreciate shops need to make money..but come on). Hope ya have a Great weekend ... Cheers
Logan Akers it’s a bearing driver kit. You can rent one for free at any local parts store. Pushed the new one in by putting the old seal on the driver kit and tapped it in place.
Not super knowledgeable about working on diffs, but shouldn't you be concerned about messing up your backlash and shims and such? I know not all diffs are designed the same but I didn't think you could just pop out the carrier and pop it back in without at least checking some measurements. I could be totally mistaken, anybody know for sure?

That's the idea!!

I bought a jeep last week and I’ve learned so much binge watching your videos. KEEP GOING 🤙🏼
Thank you!! Congrats on the new purchase.
Just had my front axle seals replaced at the local shop. Next time I might do it myself. You inspired me!
Glad to hear it! Was very daunting at first, but was pretty simple with the right tools.

I picked up a 99 TJ a few weeks ago and find lots of inspiration in your videos. Keep up the videos, they are great.
kalbs89 you got a great rig
So you're a Phish head as well!! I see you my dude.
Great Video as always. I always thought pulling out the gears was harder then that.
He made it look easy....
Appreciate it! Just took a pry bar and wedged it underneath the carrier. Came loose with some mild pressure. Piece of cake.
Love the color of the TJ. What is called?
Love the hat. I’m from Rogers, AR. #TeamWalmart

Nice work. This is pretty much how I do anything to my TJ there’s always a video on how to do something. What size tires are you running?
Yep exactly, I love RUclips for that reason.
35's

Thanks! I think I said 3 or 4 hundred dollars for the quote. If it was $3400, I'd laugh in their face haha. Appreciate the support!
Great video !
How often do yall ride the trail ... im also from nwa
what did u paint the knucks with? was thinking about painting my axles are looking shabby. Did that stuff hold up?
Great video man.
When you did the yukon 4.56 did you change carrier also?
Keep it up bro
Fayetteville gang where ya at?
Love your videos looking to do the rack on my lj
What size wheels tires and lift did you have on this
You don't have no problem without having lockers? I'm only asking because I'm going to get gears soon. Figured I'd go ahead and put in lockers too
daniel smith Only reason I don’t have lockers is because I’m running stock axles. Locking the D35 on 35’s is way to dangerous. Did that on purpose.
What part of Arkansas you from? I grew up in Lepanto
Where’d you get that piece you used to push out the seals, and push in the new ones? And what was it called?
Logan Akers it’s a bearing driver kit. You can rent one for free at any local parts store. Pushed the new one in by putting the old seal on the driver kit and tapped it in place.
Awesome video man. Are your rims 15x8 or 15x10?
I'm actually not sure
Nice. ALOT of people do not do this...
I agree
Where did you get the grade 8 bolts for the diff cover? I’m about to do a fluid change and wanted to do it as well
Found them at my local hardware store.
very nice wrangler !! What is her color ?
and what is the breed of the dog, nice ... ; )
did your front brake calipers stick after you painted the surface they slide on with POR 15?
I just painted the knuckle. No surface that slides or has any friction.
The pads are slotted and rest on the knuckle and slide back and forth. If the surface is not smooth they stick.
@@jedbl7576 Hmm, well not sure. Its never caused any problems. That POR 15 is incredibly thin. ALmost like water.
Fellow Arkansan here. Which part of Arkansas do you live in
What size is that body lift? What size tires you running?
Phantasmos 1” body life. 35’s.
What year is your TJ?
2000
what track bar are you running
