Very very nice, hey I have an 04 jeep grand Cherokee with a Quadra trac 2 and my configuration looks almost the same as yours. Will my bearing carrier come out easy like that too? Just those 4 bolts and slide it back?

Just an FYI, the bearing caps are marked with a "J" on the bottom and a corresponding mark on the housing to show which one is which. Look at 8:18. I made a tool to press the seals in using a 1/2" bolt, a puck from a seal driver kit, and a 38mm socket (that fit perfectly inside the new seals).

Great job with the video and narrated guidance. The axle shaft seal should ride on the shiny journal surface further out than you show it in the video, but it's still really obvious that the old was was wallered out. This is a good time to inspect the CV axles for play and replace if they are worn.

Words of wisdom, especially if youre a rust belter. Use a 1/2” 12 point for the hub bolts. The bolt heads have a slight taper to them. Give them a gentle tap on with a small hammer. This trick will sometimes even work on bolt heads previously stripped from using a 13mm. I prefer to try to skip the whole stripping portion of the process and just get the bolts out.

I probably put 30-60 miles on it after I knew the seal was leaking after I did my passenger side ball joint (I had to beat the shaft in to get it to go back in and after that it was leaking) and I decided to not drive it on the road anymore now, especially if the oil never got low enough to do any damage. Hopefully the shaft will go into the new seal easily or I have a different issue on my hands, as to say it’s not the seal that was keeping things from reinstalling flush and without leaks (perhaps a bent tube or shaft).
