I'm not a Richard Mille-type, but I must concede that the watches are among the most comfortable from any brand at any price. As distinctive and fashionable as the RM tonneau shape is at the moment, I think of ergonomics first when I think of Richard Mille. Best, Tim
My tech team always told me that RUclips compressions would ruin the 4K quality if we went this route. I can raise the question again, but their consensus was that the video would still look like 1080 to the viewers. Best, Tim
Nice to see your review as always, Tim. But i don‘t get the magic behind RM. How would you rate it compared technically to an Extreme Lab 1 or 2? Such a comparison would be awesome _ the JLC would be an easy pick for me - or two for the RM price :-)
I didn't get RM at first as well. I see the charm, if that's appropriate for a watch in five and six figures. Either you get RM or you don't not much gray area.
The RM 005 in titanium would be a sound choice if you decided to select a Richard Mille. It's a few millimeters smaller in every dimension while retaining the same shape and strap profile. Best, Tim
Very cool, but honestly, I don't like the way you have to adjust it based on your level of activity. Some days I'm very active. Some days I'm not active at all. Watch seems fussy. Just wear a Rolex and you don't have to worry about such things...
Yeah, I think that there's a reason most automatics work just fine with only one setting; it's sufficient. The disengagement mechanism, on the other hand, is worthwhile. Open barrels in automatic movements do have a tendency to produce debris as their mainsprings slip to avoid over-winding. The Richard Mille disengagement clutch is a smart refinement. Best, Tim
You don't "have to" adjust it. For 99% of users, the standard setting will be fine. If you're planning on wearing the watch while playing drums for a rock & roll band, then you can have it adjusted to the "active" setting.
I'm generally not a fan of RM, however, after watching this piece I at least understand the appeal. There aren't that many technically impressive & highly wearable high-end watches. I still think that it is significantly overpriced though. There are so many truly impressive watches you can buy for the same price...
Would you consider shooting a setup similar to Watchfinder and Co.? Their lighting really lets the camera focus well for beautiful videos.

"I'm not a Richard Mille-type", that says it all Tim. 98% of JLC, Lange, Patek men will never wear it. I can guarantee that.
Will you do a review for the RM11-03?
May I suggest uploading videos in 4K as well to improve image sharpness and visual quality.
1080P isn't really enough to admire the details.

It reminds me of a bridge. And that strap will live long and prosper lol. Great review but that's a bit to big for me.

You know more than me, so I am not going to argue. I'd just rather wear it and forget it.

😍😍😍
I can only hope that the next RM review is one of the RM053s or the cyclist-specific RM-70.
Best,
Tim
WatchBox Reviews the RM-70 is absolutely ridiculous.... it's nothing short of a miracle feat of engineering and art.
Truth be told if it wasn't worth the money it is. People would laught at that watch. Mankind are easily duped
