- I've never played Pizza Tower, but I want to after this! This is a very well made Fake Peppino recreation by @jngo102. This fight is surprisingly a lot of fun and has some challenging parts, and the chase sequence is really cool. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to try out modded Hollow Knight! This mod is available on the Scarab mod installer.

fake peppino works surprisingly well as a hollow knight boss
honestly think the vigilante would also work really well . hes got a bunch of attacks that look fun to dodge as the knight
One of my favorite things about hollow knight boss fights is that, most of them are almost always vulnerable, so if you’re familiar with their attacks, you can hit them while they’re moving (like how you can hit false knight while he’s jumping). Fake Peppino is a boss that moves a lot in every direction, which makes the fight really fun to optimize.

Interesting how the knight has technically six hits, like peppino. That's why the abomination dealt 4 damage, to deal two peppino-hits
Fire was playing on ascended difficulty, so all damage was doubled

Wow the chasing part is a lot more intense than the real game since you cannot run at all-
Overall it's surprisingly works really well as a Hollow Knight boss! That was pleasant to see for sure
Pretty much pre-pre-nerf chase with all the crawling
He also does ALOT more damage
@@alexlxpg4985 Only issue with I found was the liklihood of rubber-band snapping if you ran to fast. I didn't mind the crawls but it felt that post-nerf it's just a victory lap at this point barely likli you'll be hit.

@@voidtalongaming4637Not to mention, it sucks. Takes away the tension this part has. (Spoiler) It was put back in the Noise Update when playing as him. You don’t even need to worry about Fake Peppino chasing you as he just scares him off.
Ever since Pizza Tower dropped I’ve been thinking of how a playable Peppino in Hollow Knight would work, so it’s really cool to see they recreated Fake Peppino’s fight
It's a pretty solid recreation, though as a (half)joke I hafta chuckle at one of the phases actually being threatening, rather than just allowing you to stand still and breakdance for the whole phase
The final chase actually feels like a proper chase instead of just Peppino outrunning fake Peppino at Mach 4
phase 2 here actually looks more fun than in the original game, since the attacks are all random and not dependent on what HP the boss is at.
it would be neat if all the phases had more health so you could have time to actually get accustomed to each attack in phase 1; also, since the chase phase looks somewhat unforgiving, maybe fake pep could slow down briefly when hit there

Watching this video, I realized that The Knight and Peppino are on opposite ends of the emotional expressivity spectrum for 2d platformer protagonists.
One has a permanent blank expression and canonically has no emotions and cannot speak,
the other is experiencing every emotion at once with 1000% intensity and is constantly screaming bloody murder

Play it, genuinely one of the best platformers I have ever played. If you like sonic or Wario land, you will love pizza tower.
The way this translates into hollow knight combat is so seamless that it feels like it could have been a reskin for a real boss in the game. It’s kind of amazing to think that this can work and play this well and yet it does.
