They actually managed to make the escape sequence difficulty balanced
I wish they didn't nerf the original escape sequence so much since release, it's not as impactful when you can easily get away from Fake Peppino at not even running speed
@@morphious86. they actually fixed it a while ago, now you genuinely have to book it out of there instead of him rubberbanding that hard.

As a both pizza tower and hollow knight fan, this is a genius way to transfer the mechanics of feppino from pizza tower to Hollow Knight.

@@PlaneTheUhh the charge takes only around 2 second iirc, and its like 4 time faster than walking speed.

T's a lot harder to do than it sounds and what the other comment says, it mostly happens by accident
aren't attacks that appear as white lines on the screen the only ones you can parry in hollow knight
its funny watching the sheer contrast between these art styles, one is cinematic and epic with energy beams and stuff, while the other is... pizza tower

Not a lot of places to pick up the pace in original either
And you could barely see the environment down there
I don't like the fact that this boss's original version's chase sequence was so easy, making it hard would have impacted the boss so much, it especially would have added more tension while P ranking it. Oh well :/

I did not think the Fake Peppino fight would fit so well in Hollow Knight.
I feel like out of all the bosses, while all of them would work well in Hollow Knight, the Vigilante would probably be the most interesting, since you wouldn’t have a gun to fight him with, but would still be able to damage him without help.
@@TheNorfAndOnly I haven't explored much of Hollow Knight despite owning the game, but I imagine there being weaponry that could help Hollow Knight if he ever comes across the Vigilante from Pizza Tower.
@@maxthompson7107 There aren’t any equippable weapons. The closest you get is augmenting your Vengeful Spirit with the Flukenest charm. You’re stuck with your nail and your spells for damaging the boss, leaving you mostly at just melee range.

Love how the chase sequence does two damage to you if Fake Peppino catches you just like in the real game
This is the most ambitious mod I've seen for this game yet, it stays true to the original Fake Peppino boss fight, while also respecting the mechanics of Hollow Knight. Really great job on this!

I love the attention to detail of losing two masks when hit in the Fake Peppino chase like in the original.
im now convinced that both games were made with the same engine because of this
The craziest part is that they weren’t. Hollow Knight is Unity and Pizza Tower is GameMaker, meaning the whole fight and everything associated with it (VFX, attack patterns, sound/music/animation triggers, code and functions, etc.) had to have been remade from scratch. The only exception is assets, which can be imported, but even then, there has to be unique code in order for those assets to appear in the same way and at the same time as they do in Pizza Tower.
This guy is an absolute legend for pulling this off as accurately as he did.
This is so well made, can’t wait to see Ghost vs The Noise.

I like how the attacks in the second phase are randomized, adding a bit more difficulty to the fight
As a Pizza Pranker I can confirm that the difficulty increase would turn this game from goofy to enraging. But making fake Peppe's chase scene harder is a welcoming change I wish was present in the real game
@@scrittle imo I feel like the fight was kind of underwhelming in terms of difficulty, but some people think the fight is hard and some think it's easy so idk.
Maybe there could be a hard mode for bosses in a future update
@@derricksquared It's pretty hard until you notice it's linear. Phase 2 is actually a little challenging because there's RNG in all the madness, this mod bumps up the randomness from 1 to 11

Extremely minor nitpick: Fake peppino is actually the only boss that won't recover from a stagger on their own, yet he does here. Aside from that, this is actually really good. Nice work!

Fake Peppino's chase sequence fits right in with the themes of Hollow Knight.

This mode is amazing, some little things like the sounds and some other stuff like idk make the boss battle more like the pizza tower iteration and the mod would just be perfect

This is actually really good great job ( also I can't help but notice that you made the escape sequence actually kind of nerve wracking and scary compared to pizza tower where peppino can just Speedrun the entire thing and leave fake peppino ten yards away from him, yet again though I love both games)
