  • Mozambique, Africa - Crossing Maputo Bay by rusty boat. Let's go to Southeastern Africa and let's visit Mozambique and the capital the city of Maputo. In this video, we will go for an adventurous ferry boat ride across the Maputo bay and we will witness what the locals go through in order to cross this wide Maputo bay by using old (and very rusty and crowded) ferryboats.
    Maputo, capital of East Africa’s Mozambique, is an Indian Ocean port with preserved Portuguese colonial architecture. Many turn-of-the-century buildings are in the downtown jacaranda-lined Baixa neighborhood. The bronze-domed CFM Maputo Railway Station, for example, was completed in 1916. The Baixa also has an expansive Municipal Market. The neoclassical City Hall is in the nearby Praça da Independência square.

    Nice ferry boat ride. It looks like the bridge is scheduled to open June 25th. So you got there just in time. You probably documented history that will soon be gone.

      That's OK, you can always visit the bridge in the future. At least you got to ride the ferry boat before it's gone.

    It looks like that beach was once a really nice place to visits in times past.. But it looks like things have deteriorated in recent times and it is no longer the attraction it once was.. But very interesting to see a little bit of a country that is not often seen in the Media.. Thank you Vic.. Hope to see more of the area on your next video..
    PS:: You where getting some strange looks from some of the people.. Keep yourself safe Vic..

    • @VicStefanu
      @VicStefanu  6 лет назад +1

      You are right about the beach, I did not think it was safe and I left soon after I completed this video, I took the small boat back.. The whole experience was not exactly a rewarding one, you are right about the people giving me strange looks, I left the day after this video was taped Zimbabwe was a far friendlier country..

      Beira is far north from Maputo.. I am lucky however that the cyclone stayed south because Zanzibar is north of Beira and it missed this area where I am..

    Sadly the Chinese have invested great amounts of money in rebuilding infrastructure which is substandard throughout Africa. Mozambique is a poor country and its citizens have daily struggles. Thank you for understanding this and sharing your thoughts.

      Hey Mozambique 🇲🇿 it’s not a poor country it’s a country full of wealthy & we aren’t struggling thank you. I don’t know what is your definition of poverty? And hope you will understand that any country including even where you live it was not built in one day. Wealth to me it’s not defined by having a lot money & fancy building etc. It’s the richness of the spirit, soul & the mind set of the people of any country. Don’t worry about us we are building our people & country. By the way let me just remind you that Mozambique 🇲🇿 suffer a 16 years of war where everything was destroyed.

    • @princedanny1473

      Also I don’t see as a sad thing for the Chinese investing their money into the country. I think the country where you are from, other countries they have invested their money in your country. Don’t see Mozambicans like we are stupid and we are being taken advantage by the Chinese because that is not the case. Mozambique 🇲🇿 it’s a free country where anyone is welcomed to do business with us.

      Vic Stefanu - World Travels and Adventures No Vic he is not right he is wrong. I really don’t agree with his opinion about our people and our country, we are not poor. Before he can call poor in Mozambique 🇲🇿 or any country, he needs to give us his own definition of poverty. What make some of the richest in the world today it was not because they just wake up in the morning everything was built for them while they were sleeping 😴 🛏. It took the richness of their people in their hearts and strong 💪 mind to build a greater country for their people. And us Mozambicans 🇲🇿 we are strong 💪 & courageous people we are building our country one brick at time and our people. By the way thank you for traveling to our country & experience the spirit wealth culture of of people.

      Vic Stefanu - World Travels and Adventures Also what I don’t agree with him is, He is talking about the Chinese by saying sadly the Chinese are investing in our country why that is the bad thing? Today most of the buildings in London are owned by the Russians 🇷🇺 & Arabs. Mozambique 🇲🇿 it’s part of world 🗺 community & China 🇨🇳 anyone who is willingly to come & be friend with us & invest in our country & in people, you are very much welcomed. Anyway keep up the great 👍 work. Let’s be positive about the world 🌍 & it’s people that’s how we are going to change people’s perspectives about other countries & people, that’s what I believe. THANK U 🙏

    Why not just walk across the bridge? Is there no pedestrian access on Katembe Bridge? Seems kind of inefficient if it is so close by.
