That is a nice looking knife, and an excellent tutorial to go along with it. Great tip on putting strapping tape on sandpaper to give it extra durability. I've never seen that one before. Thanks for sharing!
You really make very well thought out and produced videos that are entertaining and informative with tricks I dont see elsewhere. You have a great brand here please keep making content
Awesome work John, the knife looks great! 😍👌🏻🔪 .... really enjoyed the Director's cut, that main bevel scene brings a whole new angle to the video! 😉 ..... Chock full of funny bits, but also a lot of great information and it's definitely something I will use as a reference when I'm ready to make a knife! 👍🏻👊🏻
ahaha thanks fred! the knife was so sharp, it cut out the bevel scene! good luck and lemme know if you ever have any knife making questions!! thanks for watching again!!!
I don’t I’m sorry, I just kinda designed it as I went. Maybe take a screen grab if it and try to replicate it? If you do sent me your results!!! Thanks for watching!!
Nicely done John!! But how come you didn’t put it through the burrito cut Challenge like jimmy 🤣, I like the finish the stone wash is always a nice finish even the jeans from 92 🤣🤣
Looking at the comments, I can see this is a 4ish year old video, so if you manage to see this, I guess I'd be lucky. But an idea I had while I was watching your video, I came across a question for kitchen knives in general. In sword making, they have a blood groove, The reason being not only to let the blood out, but to make an uneven part so air can get in, releasing any sort of vacuum. Something like this would also benefit in the kitchen for when you're, say, cutting an union, so the onion slices don't stick to the blade. Could you put either a blood groove, or just a straight hole halfway in the blade to help things release from the knife while chopping? Another idea, would be instead of a flat 20 degree angle when making the blade.. have it start at, say 10 degrees, and work up to 20 for an ever so slight curve, and eliminating the huge flat area. Just questions from a curious person. Thank you if you do see this.
Man the video (Doom) in the beginning has got me to subscribe to your channel. Awesome..I loved that game. Might even try make one. I bought some damascus steel but while its that thick maybe only 1+ inch wide and around 8-10" long.
I must not be very observant. The only thing I think I noticed was the tape on the sandpaper trick. But, I watch videos when they come out for entertainment purposes. When I actually get around to building something, I go back and watch much more carefully.
ha, its the section where i put the main bevel on the knife with the bevel jig. its only about a minutes long, but its one of the most important steps!
It really depends on the knife and how abused it’s going to be, for a chopper/bushcraft knife I would go like a 30 degree bevel and for a kitchen style knife I would go 15-20 degree. Thanks for the question and for watching!!
Dude….this video just made my day. All the needed information, with some humor thrown in. Thanks!
You’re welcome!! Thanks for watching!!! ❤️
Awesome tip using 1/8" bit to make center. Cool. Thanks for sharing
Awesome. I learned enough I need to make my own knife now.
davebauerart thanks Dave!! Get to it!!
@@GrazMakes Definitely when I am done with my next video, just need a jigsaw puzzle and a cat.

Never thought about using a drill bit of the same thickness to mark the center, great tip
Can’t take credit for that but it works perfectly!
Just watched your show, loved the narration there, and the jokes
Thank you!!! New videos coming soon on here!!!
Nice, easy to follow set of instructions on how to get a damn fine looking, useable knife made. Perfect. Thank you Sir :)

Looks great, Graz! Nice work.
thanks duder!
Incredible!
thanks alonzo!! be sure to share the video :-)
Ok, quick question about the metal cutting bandsaw. That is a portable unit. Did you mount it in your vice? Do tell and thanks again!
Yeah it’s the harbor freight metal cutting band saw they offer. Yup! Just stuck it in my vice!
Well dang I came to RUclips to brainstorm new leather knife sheaths… I walk away thinking I might need to try to make the actual knife!
Nice build. How did you keep the spine finish from the acid etch around the handle after sanding? Thanks!
Random question do you have the template that you used for this knife? As it looks amazing and I would like to replicate for my second ever knife
I don’t I’m sorry, I just kinda designed it as I went. Maybe take a screen grab if it and try to replicate it? If you do sent me your results!!! Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for getting back to me! All good, appreciate it!
May I ask the solution percentage of FC used for this? I've used 43% and it had minimal effect... Thanks in advance.
100 percent
Nicely done John!! But how come you didn’t put it through the burrito cut Challenge like jimmy 🤣, I like the finish the stone wash is always a nice finish even the jeans from 92 🤣🤣
Ha, I didn’t want to cramp jimmys style by cutting a burrito. How bout I cut some cheese instead? :-)
Graz Makes that would be awesome 🤣
love the knife! I spotted your sign for Euclid Avenue. Is that a St. Louis reference?
thanks alan! probably not? my shop is in salem, ma and I think that sign might be local. thanks for watching!
How dare you use my shot glass as a template?! It was for display only!
Jackman Works ok boomer.

Ok, I’ll play your spot the differences game.
ha! I'm such an idiot. I was so focused on the entire video I forgot the most important step of the process. thanks for the second viewing ;-)

You need a kiln and Parks 50.
Can you make a dinosaur that shoots tacos next!? Congrats by the way!
Ahahaha I think I’ve seen that build somewhere recently…😉
I feel like I watched this before. DeJaVu al over again.
ahaha! i know right?! thanks for watching chad!
what do you get for selling a knife like that?
drop me an email at grazmakes@gmail.com and we can chat on there! thanks for watching!
Do you have a specific angle you like setting your bevel guide to? Or do you go just based off the knife?
It really depends on the knife and how abused it’s going to be, for a chopper/bushcraft knife I would go like a 30 degree bevel and for a kitchen style knife I would go 15-20 degree. Thanks for the question and for watching!!
Unnecessary and childish special effects.
You’re just in luck! I’m working on a new RUclips video with 100 percent more unnecessary and childish special effects!! Thanks for watching!!!
Stabby choppy.
Agreed.
