I bet you wished you used a walkthrough after this so you wouldn't get stuck anymore huh? You may think using one is boring but it's not, it's necessary for progression.
Using a walkthrough helps if your stuck or looking to find all the collectables, insisting on using one "because it's boring" is just an insistance on being stupid, & yet you afk for audience for help when it does the same thing as using a walkthrough. If your THAT BAD at Zelda games, I'd hate to see how hard you suck at every other game out there.
Ocarina of Time is often credited with shaping modern game design, particularly in the action-adventure genre. Its influence can be seen in countless games that followed, not just within the Zelda series but across the entire gaming landscape. The game is also remembered for its sense of adventure and discovery with many players fondly recalling their first time exploring Hyrule solving intricate puzzles and facing off against the evil Ganondorf
This is uncanny. I started Ocarina of time in 2002 when i was 13 years old. I finally finished it this year at the age of 33 (20 years later). Such an Amazing game.
I, too, have a whole saga of playing it as a kid and starting it over and over again on different systems and emulators over the years and I STILL haven't gotten around to beating it at 35 years old lol
Navi left him and he is literally an adult in a child's body, hello shitty life, without wanting to spoil (because we learn what happened to him in another Zelda game) the life of the hero of time is by far the saddest of all the heroes in the Zelda franchise.
I was a Zelda virgin when I played this game back in my n64's day. Only beat it once many many years ago. Been waiting for the PC graphics/models replacement's completion to give it another go.
Great video! I loved this “detective re-telling an interesting case retrospective” storytelling style in this video! So glad to see you mixing up the format and having fun with the edit!!
I played OoT in 1998 when I was 13. There were definitely puzzles in there that would get me stuck for a while. And back then, the internet wasn't really a resource for finding out what to do. It took me a couple hours to find the Kokiri sword, haha. My dad would watch me play and tell me to try stuff, which ended up being the solution to a lot of puzzles. Like I remember in the Deku tree, we had to get the ladder down and he told me to shoot it with the slingshot. I didn't think that would work, but i tried it, and was delightfully surprised when it did. And in the water temple, I was stuck until my dad told me to look under the elevating platform I was on. Sure enough, there's a way to another room.
I dont normally watch videos like this but I could tell within the first five minutes you are my kind of crazy unapologetic person and hilarious - also ocarina of time is my favorite video game ever, thoroughly enjoying your video lmao alsoo congrats on beating the game! it is not an easy one
I became such a fan of this game back when it was new that I kept asking my local music shop for ocarinas. They didn't have any ocarinas there, but the owner eventually was like "I guess I will order some ocarinas for him", haha.
The Chronicles of Jakisaur. I actually liked this mini documentary lol. I remember beating this game I want to say 2003 or 2004 when i was around 15 years old. My first playthrough was the Master Quest edition on the gamecube. In my later years i was able to obtain the original ocarina of the time cathridge with the original fire temple song and where ganondorf vomits red blood rather than green... I even got the 3ds version. I beat that version last year.. so yeah.... Ocarina of time is an all time classic. And im glad that you loved it too. I was able to watch your playthrough on the og legend of zelda on your twitch stream. Now im looking forward for Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess 😊
thank you!! i'm glad you got to experience lots of versions of it :D it's so good!!! & thank you for watching me go through zelda 1!! i'm sooo excited for MM and TP
I was about to beat it then my house literally burned down... It's been over 20 years of not beating Ocarina of time but some day I plan on going back to it & beating it..
About the aiming thing…it’s kind of broken on anything other than the N64 using an OG controller. I tried playing OOT on GameCube and rage quit because of the aiming sensitivity.
2:25 I have a similar story revolving this game. I tried Oot when i was 6 years old for the first time and when i grew up i didn't have an n64, so i only had the chance to play when i hung out with friends who owned one. There were many a times where me and some friend tried to progress through the story. As time passed some of those friendships ended, not on bad terms though, we just found other people to hang with. So i had no way of beating it for quite some time. Then my uncle bought the gamecube back when it was launched, and with it came the collectors edition to zelda. So when i was hanging with my uncle i managed to beat the game. It took about 6-7 years before i finally had done it. And as you, i too became very emotional over The ending. This game meant so much to me and still does. Zelda is my favorite Game franchise and it all began with Ocarina of time. Thank you for sharing your story ❤️
i did the same thing as a kid butttt for a good reason. i was able to expierience this game at one of my uncles houses because he had this game on gamecube and alot of other older games like this. So i played it when i got to come out there, but obviously i never made it very far in the short times i was there. But recently i bought an N64 and got this game for it and also an old CRT tv so i could experience it at its full glory that it was meant to be experienced in. By the way you are the funniest person i have seen in awhile, love your energy :)
I first played the game as a wee little lad in like 2004. My family was dirt poor but we had a crappy ass old ass computer from like the early 90’s that could barely handle n64 emulation. My cousin got me a bunch of games and ocarina was one of them (and I beat it as a fucking 5 year old, take that jaki u suck loool). Can relate I started OoT when it first came out as well, I was about 6 but I didn't beat it until I was 16-17 because I had absolutely no idea of what game sense is and what to look for in a room. Instead I posed a lot of assumptions and was very adamant that it wouldn't work or it couldn't because I said so such as: Not placing a bomb to open that staircase in dodongo's cavern because it wouldn't do anything. Not killing those bubbles in Jabu Jabu's belly to receive the boomerang because I thought it was just an empty room. Not trying to leave Jabu Jabu's belly because it looked like the way was shut so I thought the only way out was to beat the boss. (kind of wish that was the case it seams a lot more badass to put you in that kind of situation) After I found out I could just leave the hard way I snapped and abandoned my old line of thinking and it was like my Sharingan eyes were finally opening where I experimented more and paid a lot more attention. From thereon in the rest of the game was a breeze...
Completing the spirit temple before the shadow temple has been the single most horrific red flag in gaming since 1998 and ill stand by that for the rest of my life 😅
@@jakisaur Probably because Navi first guides you towards the Shadow Temple and then the Spirit Temple, though the order of the medallions shown in the menu is the Spirit Medallion first and then the Shadow Medallion. Fun fact, deku nuts are the de facto speedrun strat for defeating Gohma. You’re just a god gamer who don’t need no intended solution because you found a better one!
@jakisaur, if you haven't, watch "Ocarina of Time - A Masterclass in Subtext" it's probably the greatest video explaining why you got so emotional about the game.
I was born in 1996. In Christmas of 2003, my family got a GameCube. One of the games we got on there was Ocarina of Time Master Quest, which also came with the regular version (I think sorry it's been over 20 years XD) I have always been a huge fan of Zelda since I got this game. Ocarina of Time was my first Zelda game. I beat it in 2004 at the age of 8. I later beat Wind Waker in 2005 or 2006. I decided to straight up skip Majora's Mask because I thought it looked "too scary" at the time. Remember at this time I was like in the 5th grade. Eventually I finally came around and beat it when I was about 13 in 2008 or 2009. In 2010, I got a Wii, and the best Zelda Game I ever played and beat was Twilight Princess. This is where Zelda games peaked for me. I beat Twilight Princess in 2013, because I was so busy with school at the time I had to wait. :[ Fast forward to 2016. I beat Skyward Sword. It was actually kind of disappointing. Maybe it's just that I don't like the art or combat style. :/ Okay. I'm not going to talk about Breath of The Wild or Tears of The Kingdom because I wouldn't even consider those Zelda games anymore. I like to call them "glorified walking simulators." I am so mad they got rid of the traditional style dungeons. But I can always replay the older titles. Today, I am now a 28-year-old father who has two sons. The oldest is 3 years old, and the youngest is 1. I really hope as they get older, they are more interested into classic video games, and not the new garbage we are getting nowadays, but hey, I can't force them what to play. It's just what I'd like to see :) Seeing your video brought back a lot of memories from 2004 of coming back from a long day of elementary school to sit on the sofa, and play Ocarina of Time. And I am so happy you finally beat it! Thanks for bringing back so many memories for me! You've earned a new subscriber! :)
i cant believe your older then me i was born in 1992 i played ocarina for the first time in about the 6th grade so 2004ish? i used to finish the game and start a new file that same day i loved it so much maybe my favorite game of all time

Fun fact, deku nuts are the de facto speedrun strat for defeating Gohma. You’re just a god gamer who don’t need no intended solution because you found a better one!
"I'm me," he says
must be nice being real 😣 hahaha
um excuse me i'm sorry this video is perfect? what the heck?
also i still can't get over your haircut, it's *chef's kiss*
thank you, captain!! 😭😭😭
@jakisaur, if you haven't, watch "Ocarina of Time - A Masterclass in Subtext" it's probably the greatest video explaining why you got so emotional about the game.
that's on my list to watch!
AHHHHHHHHH IT'S HERE AND I LOVE IT ALREADY
i finally pooped it out 🥰
My sister started it in 1999 when she was 4 and I'm not sure she's beaten it yet because she got scared of Barinade.
Many of the Zelda mechanics began in Link to the past (snes), so starting with that game is a good starting point.
ive already played the first 3 zelda games since beating OoT hehe. the hands were the worst in ALTTP for me!
@@jakisaur Ocarina of Time definitely made the hands freaky for people who have never dealt with them before.
Fast forward to 2016. I beat Skyward Sword. It was actually kind of disappointing. Maybe it's just that I don't like the art or combat style. :/
Okay.
It's just what I'd like to see :)
Seeing your video brought back a lot of memories from 2004 of coming back from a long day of elementary school to sit on the sofa, and play Ocarina of Time. And I am so happy you finally beat it! Thanks for bringing back so many memories for me! You've earned a new subscriber! :)
thanks for sharing your story. i love modern and older games equally, but i hope youre able to share the games you love with your kid.
i cant believe your older then me i was born in 1992 i played ocarina for the first time in about the 6th grade so 2004ish? i used to finish the game and start a new file that same day i loved it so much maybe my favorite game of all time
I just got done playing Zelda ocarina of time a couple days and now I'm playing Zelda Majora's mask I upgrade some stuff so far and got the powerful sword for Link
congrats! i haven't played Majora's Mask yet. hope you enjoy!!
@@jakisaur it's really dark especially the background story of skull kid

You're strange. I like it. I also beat BotW then went and beat Ocarina lol. Skyward Sword and Link to the Past are still my favorites.
haha, thanks! this makes me look forward to Skyward Sword
@@jakisaur the controls take a minute to get used to, but there are fun and easy ways to kill most things. It just hits different in a good way for me
To be fair I never beat this game. And yes the Gerudo valley theme is so good!
Dang it to 3 weeks to beat it when we first played as kids back in the 90s
Oh hey, Its Jaki. Haven't seen you upload anything in 85 years. :D
it's certainly been a while!
Maplestory got caught for something illegal. Also I am now playing OOT in multiplayer online.

Fun fact, Mater from Cars is Navi in this game
But in a more serious note, great job on the hard work. You're fantastic at what you do, and it's wonderful to see the hard work pay off
