    Today I tried the Hovsco HovAlpha ebike. Within minutes of opening the Hovsco ebike box, this reviewer is already geeking out about how powerful, responsive and setup-instructable these bikes are. Some call it an Hovamatic on wheels. This bike is a beast, with 750 watts of furious power and 60+ miles of range per charge, and an enjoyably comfy ride.
    This video is your one-stop shop to find out if this electric bike is for you!
    I will take you on a parts review to make sure you know about the parts and specs of this e-bike Next, we will take it on a test tide where we will do a hill test and flat land torque test.
    If you're looking for an adventure-style fat-bike to take out in any condition. I definitely recommend watching this video.

    I bought this e-bike because of all the great reviews. And I would say that it is a great e-bike in need of the correct gearset. I don't know what they were thinking. I mean, it's got a torque sensor and you aint going nowhere fast unless you can get torque to the pedals! I got frustrated with it very quickly. So I installed a 52T chainring, (just fits) and a 11-34 freewheel and now it is perfect! Oh man! it's like riding a Ferrari! It pulls hard in every gear now so ghost peddling is a thing of the past. So much fun. With the fat tires and hulky frame it's like a beast that can go anywhere and get you there in a hurry. And you can ride for a long time with that huge 20 Ah battery. I highly recommend this e-bike if you upgrade the gearset like I did.

      Can you link give me a link to what you bought? I may consider this next year or later this year. I had some issues right out of the box( I can expand on that later, I brought it to a bike shop)

    Thanks for the video.
    What are your thoughts on the underside mount batteries like this has? Is it locked in pretty securely, do these type ever have an issue coming undone, falling out etc?

    Easy to get a bigger chain ring and/or a cassette with more gears. I think that bike comes with a 14 to 32t. I'd put a 11 to 38t cassette in it if it would fit.

    Hey what happened to that Palermo or polarma I thought you said that was the best e-bike

      That one is pretty awesome too. I sold it to a family friend. I chose the rattan over that just because the polarna was a bit too big vs the rattan. When comparing folding bikes anyway

    FINE?

    • @larryl
      @larryl  Год назад

      Hard to say. I think it technically is rated for up to 400lbs. 750watts should be enough, and the big tires are definitely your friend!

      I would actually check out the new Adventure 2 from aventon . That one is rated for 400lbs. I can also say, I’m pretty big too.(250-260) and I can haul myself and my daughter behind a trailer with this no problem.

    To many of these fat tire e-bikes coming out.The more that come out the cheaper components get.

    No helmet or gloves on a bike that will go almost 30 mph . Chain rings are easy to upgrade.
