I worked at a metric bike shop for a while that sold all the name brands plus the cheap Chinese pit bikes and 250cc sport bikes. The 250 bikes were like $2500....and they were junk. The electrical systems sucked, quality control sucked, the steel was cheap and rusted easily. They looked cosmetically good on the showroom floor....but problems quickly started. You're much better off buying a used Honda, Kaw, or Yamaha 500-600cc bike for the same price. I bought a used Kawasaki 600 for $1600 with 10k mi on it, and have had it 10yrs now. Don't waste your money on disposable Chinese bikes.
I like disposable chinese dirt bikes. I live in Mexico and ride an Italika DM200 it hasn't failed they come with a 2 year guarantee. I'm going on my third. And my old ones still run I buy a new one every 3 years. I just don't like buying tires and for 1400 dollars for a new enduro bike you can't go wrong. I also have a Kawasaki and Suzuki but they are cruisers. Smaller Enduros are perfect for cobble stone roads, off road and lane splitting on small Mexican roads. Top speed sucks at 120kmph but that's good for a 200cc bike and I'm 220lbs poor bike. I beat the shit out of them and can't break them. They are super cheap to fix too
Before I even get that far in the video, throwing out a guess: 125cc (ish) GY6 clone on this bike? Like all the quads, go karts, and dirt bikes they ship over here en masse. As you said, disposable bikes that arent very good when they're new.
I have been using my Chinese 125 almost daily for 3yrs in the UK. I have had little trouble with it, just tidied it up a bit. It ran better after I cut the cat out of the exhaust (silly EU regs)I upgraded the tyres, but that is more a reflection on my riding than the bike. I bought it because my GP convinced me that I had Parkinsons, so I bought a lightweight. When I finally found out that I hadn`t, I decided to keep it because by then fuel prices had gone through the roof, at 100mls to the gallon it has saved me a fortune. As standard it was whisper quiet so I took a couple of baffles out, because a couple of times I had to break hard for smartphone zombies in town, this also pepped it up a bit. All in all a very good little bike
Lexmotos and keeways are brilliant first bikes, I had a superlight and it ran brilliantly, it also got stolen and joy ridden whilst I owned it, I recovered it and repaired it by hand and it still ran like new. Now I have my full license though I'm sticking to bigger brands
Imagine being stuck in quarantine and running out of content ideas, so you buy something from the one country we shouldn’t be buying stuff from. There’s a reason it cost that price.
You need to replace that fuel lock and filter. Buy the one in which filter is built into lock. Also its a new bike. You literally need to tighten all the nuts and bolts. Give it some run for 500km slow rpms then change oil and break pads. Then you are good to go. That's what you have to do with Chinese bikes. Once youve done it they gonna be beast in their class. Also put a custom exhaust.

@The Inja Some facts I thought you'd appreciate regarding 13:20. Octane is calculated differently in different parts of the world. Some countries use RON (Research Octane Number) and some combine RON with MON (Motor Octane Number) and takes the average of this. ("R+M/2 method" is even written on some pumps) which is the Anti Knock Index (AKI). This is a bit lower than the RON number but it's the same quality. China use the RON calculations so the manual asked you to put in a minimum of 86 Octane US gas. Here in Sweden we only got two options, the lowest one we have is 95 octane, which would be 90-91 in the US. And the 98 octane (94 US). And they cost $6,50-$7 per gallon (converted) :S
Yeah you can spend $US1700 on this heap and mess around with it trying to make it into a decent bike or you can buy something proven (old) and bigger for the same money and just ride. I like the second option personally.
Fuel requirement is likely on the RON Octane rating which is what the majority of the world including China uses. The US and Canada use the AKI (Anti-Knock Index) instead. 91 RON is equivalent to a 87 or so AKI.
I bought a 250cc from a guy who got it from Amazon as something to ride to work in the summer to save on fuel. I have a 87 mile round trip commute to work everyday so in an area full of mountains. It's not the fastest thing at climbing hills or steep inclines but it gets the job done and I gave the guy $400 for it and I have had it for about 3 years now and it has served me well and saved me about a $1000 a year in Fuel since my regular truck is a 4 wheel drive for our snowy and icy winters in the mountains. But I have been pleased with it but a 125 might be a little too small to keep up with even small town traffic.

@@Flinicc Yep and its fine as long as you keep good tires on it and do regular maintenance. Its not meant to be rode like a $20,000 bike its made to look like the nice bikes. If you treat it right and don't run it with the accelerator wide open everyday it will last. But if you ride it hard going 100MPH everywhere it might not be the best option. Its 250cc so its a bike made to ride the speed limit and be a utility. But its cheap on fuel and in my experience it has been a really nice purchase for me. Basically this bike is made for looks but if you treat it rough it probably won't last very long. I ride mine like an old man LOL
@@jamesconner3437 to discourage buyers from messing with it. A good manufacturer will have it pre-tuned to run at least okay and they don't want those that are less mechanically inclined to mess it up, I guess.

I am writing to you from Colombia. I find that Chinese thing expensive, here in my country with that money you buy a 150 cc motorcycle from brands like Yamaha or Honda that are infinitely better!
Same here in India too. I mean for that Money I can buy a faired Fuel Injected Suzuki Gixxer 155cc which is much much much more reliable. It will also have ABS too. Guess these people only love and understand expensive and Bigass objects.
@@rpaul9037 No, our market is determined by the corporations. The 300's and 250's added to our market in the past ten years are the fastest growing in sales so it is likely we will see the smaller displacement bikes at some point. Especially with the coming economic recession.
I had a Hyosung GT250 as my only transportation for 3 years and I sold it after I got tired of riding in the rain and cold. I miss riding now and this brought back a lot of memories watching the riding part. I would love to have a bike again. Maybe a Honda CBR 650.
As soon as you started talking about how the bike was $1,600.. combined with the early-COVID time of filming.. I literally said aloud "Bet it's not anymore!".. checked and the same bike is $2,600 now. Oh to live in the past.
We purchased one of these off Amazon also. We removed all the tins, filters, and every bolt (almost). We tightened everything down to torque specs with Medium Loctite, touched up all solder joints, replaced some hoses and clamps, made adjustments to cables, brakes, clutch, bleed the brakes. We also added rubber gaskets to help reduce vibration. It only took a weekend to complete everything and do another start up. After break in it would top out around 65 mph with me 225 pounds on board and we have had only one problem. That was the carburetor. After a cleaning and deburring the problem was fixed. Makes a great camp site bike, pits bike, and run for a coffee bike. Not for touring but a good cheap little run around bike that is fun to ride.
Yea, it seems like a good little bike for around town here. Everything is 10 mins away driving and it beats WALKING anytime 😂 I'm recently single as of 10 months ago, so I don't have a wife or step daughter to lug around or take to work / pick up anymore. But i do need some wheel asap 😕 figured this would help me out some until I can stack some cash for a proper car since she cleaned me out and took the family car. Ps. The family car went to $ht on her about a month after she moved out. She was on the side of the road, got scared, called a tow truck, guess he had pitty on her, took it to her other brothers house where she doesn't live, gave him MY address for billing instead, stiffed the guy out of $300+ for towing, and rhey sent a certified letter to my house, I declined it and said she doesn't live here I can't sign for that. Never feel sorry for women. EVER..
Can you tell me what kind of battery it takes and where to get it?Someone stole my bike im missing some of the fairing parts and some are broken,Having a hard time finding them.
“That’s going to run for a long time.” Actually, it probably will. Most of these bikes run a clone of the Honda CG engine, which is known to be virtually bullet-proof, and *incredibly* low maintenance.
yeha seems like those 125cc dirt bike engines. those are fuking solid. been true rivers with it it was pissing water still ran fine.... cheap china knock off engines are cool cheap and work any parts are aviable out of china and for like cheap AF
The reasons they want you to use 90 and above octane is because a high octane gas needs a higher temperature or ignition to burn, this engine is air cooled, so its gonna get hot, really hot, so if you use 87 octane gas you may experience pre detonation, and pre detonation will destroy a engine
Any time you have a shut off valve to anything. Its on when it's in line with the hose. Off when it's going the opposite of the hose. Its the same way in plumbing
This would be so frustrating and stressful for me but I luv how he just rolls with whatever is going on until he figures it out. I wish I had that personality trait. Hehehe!
This looks like a great alternative as a first bike for a teen son/daughter (said at the start of the video). After watching the while video, not really. Good for any enthusiast willing to wrench on it. A novelty bike at best. I can't see having one of my kids on this thing knowing that at any moment I'll get a call that they are stranded somewhere and I'll have to get them home.
i got a Chinese bike for 10 years now. It was 125, I made it 200 by altering engine. New expensive bikes 125, 150 even 250cc replicas cant beat my custom 200 "once its engine is "hot" Not warm! I want you to please test it when its engine is hot.
As others stated because of the shortages the price is now $2,800 Plus $400 for shipping that is a huge difference for a piece of garbage. $3,200. Actually double now Not your fault as the price of everything has skyrocketed
As far as the octane rating goes, They probably meant the Eropean style. The standard gas for some decades now has octane rating 95. Premiums are up to a hundred. It's because we use a different method of gauging the fuel.
Dang, I was looking for something interesting to watch a couple weeks ago, now I've done gone and ordered a China dirt bike and a bunch of gear! Thanks for the spark Inja!
There is no quality control in cheap Chinese bikes guys make sure you do it for yourself like tight up all the nuts and bolts, put a good oil and fuel in it and do some slow rpm rides for atleast 500-700km or you gonna learn the hard way like I did it.
Im sure it was already suggested, but you absolutely have to change out the shipping oil when you get these bikes. It's also suggested to swap the carb for a mikuni clone. Also, some of these Chinese bikes wont start easily if the kickstand is down.
It looks and sounds a lot like a Honda 125. I did riding school on one of those years ago. The Honda doesn't have a manual choke or carb. I put 91 octane in my high compression bikes. I can feel the diffenence when I don't.
Really enjoy the videos. Keep up the good work. Now for the bike. I ordered mine about a year ago. Except mine is the red one. I ordered it from Powersport. Took 8 day for delivery. I have 1200 miles on it already. The only thing I've done is changed the oil and added a front sproket with 2 more teeth. That made a big difference.I get 63mph. I use the bike to commute to work, round trip is 17 miles. I get 97mpg and fill up the tank with 7 dollars. Oh yeah. i also live in California. I love the bike. The con of the bike is the fairings. Either wise the bike is solid. Any ways hope to see more videos. I hope you do the 200cc . I know Beards and bike (SRK )did a video on it.
I'd love to see the specs on that beast, horsepower & torque, 0 - 60 (if it'll hit 60) lol. Kinda reminds me of riding my little mx 80 when I was like 10 or 11. The little engine lugging along, the sound & feel of the gears clunking. I love it.
@@carrickdubya4765 I bought a Honda VT250F for $1000 AU. The muffler fell off on the way home but I got six months of use out of it before electrical issues saw me offload it to a wreckers. Got a fantastic 2011 Ninja 250 for $2000 and had no issues at all and it was an easy DIY air and oil filter change, clutch cable adjustment and short levers mod. When life treated me well I rode a Triumph Street Triple 2013 and modded it with a single headlight, a Triumph rear set foot peg kit, a Street Triple R Front brake master cylinder, shorty levers, anodised front and rear brake reservoirs and crash knobs. **** beautiful bike but yeah, life throws curve balls and now I'm back on a Japanese bike (Suzuki SV650s 2003) which I bought for $3700 - I think a decent price for 30 thousand Kilometres on the clock. It came with two new tyres, new chain, new bars and levers and yeah, a few scratches but I sure appreciate the torque and engine reliability. Needs some exhaust baffles though.
That's a Lifan 125cc engine. I used to have one in a bobber I built. You can easily find on ebay big bore kits with a cylinder and piston to take it up to 140cc. Doesn't sound like much of an upgrade but I definitely got a few more mph on the top end. Well worth it.
My first bike was a Lifan 200cc/single cylinder sports bike that redlined at 32mph and topped out at 60mph. The problems started after the break-in period. At one point the motor wouldn’t turn over and something was just buzzing in the motor when I tried to turn it over. A bolt head snapped off from one of the casings on the motor and I could never get the bolt out in order to change it. That’s just my experience.
I sure hope these importers start importing that electric bike so it's easier for us to purchase it. Would make a great starting platform for the electric bike I want to build
It's got the exact same exhaust can as my EFI 200cc Capri Amazon scooter has😂 bought my EFI 200cc Capri Amazon scooter in 2021 it's probably got about 6,000 mi on it I use it for DoorDash delivery. When I'm not using it it's garage kept. The only problems I've had with it is the exhaust systems don't do not last. The key is I have found for my 200cc scooter anyway I changed the oil every 500 mi. Is it still runs great everything still looks good new. Just exhaust system sucks
Do a nuts and bolts on it and see how everything is mounted. All that plastic is probably rattling around and everything is mounted poorly so your getting vibrations. I spose you should be able to adjust the timing and carb to get it running much better when you figure everything out. The idea of getting a better carb might be good and I bet you have enough spare parts you could probably swap something on to see if it's happier down the road.
If it is 0lastic ride a bit remove look at back of panels, you will see scuff marks where.it is vibrating. Get some thin foam tape at lows or home depot, it os foam with sticky side. Mount to scuff spots it will silence it. Dod this on older 600 ninja at about 50k miles as panels had been on and off hundreds of times for maintenance. Oh to tighten screws with out twisting and cracking mount holes apply some oil around holes so screws can tighten without grabbing and twisting plastic.

Make sure to tighten all the engine mounting bolts and drill out the Welch plug on the carb that's hiding the air fuel mixture screw
Why would the mfr hide the mixture screw ?

for $1600 you're getting ALOT. The price is at $2850 now, but even that amazes me considering my road bike (not even an ebike) costs $4k.
At that pricepoint I'd go for a Lifan 200cc tbh. Their engines are literal Honda blueprinted (Honda is their parent company).

I am writing to you from Colombia. I find that Chinese thing expensive, here in my country with that money you buy a 150 cc motorcycle from brands like Yamaha or Honda that are infinitely better!
Same here in Bangladesh too. Too much Tax
Same here in India too. I mean for that Money I can buy a faired Fuel Injected Suzuki Gixxer 155cc which is much much much more reliable. It will also have ABS too. Guess these people only love and understand expensive and Bigass objects.

Nice🤔
Only downside is needing all the knowledge to fix it xd
The box it came in looks like a shelving unit sold at the home depot for 249.99
“That’s going to run for a long time.”
Actually, it probably will. Most of these bikes run a clone of the Honda CG engine, which is known to be virtually bullet-proof, and *incredibly* low maintenance.
Kinda encouraged by this comment. Haha
The Inja, if you’re into that sort of thing, it’s kind of a neat story about how & why it was developed.
yeha seems like those 125cc dirt bike engines. those are fuking solid.
been true rivers with it it was pissing water still ran fine....
cheap china knock off engines are cool cheap and work any parts are aviable out of china and for like cheap AF
Not a cg based engine!. It's a horizontal cylinder like a crf50 based Honda engine
I think we had a Briggs and Stratton lawnmower engine that sounded like that. It also needed a choke
The reasons they want you to use 90 and above octane is because a high octane gas needs a higher temperature or ignition to burn, this engine is air cooled, so its gonna get hot, really hot, so if you use 87 octane gas you may experience pre detonation, and pre detonation will destroy a engine
I'm going to level with you here, I'm here for the cat.
Is there enough metal for it to rust?
Any time you have a shut off valve to anything. Its on when it's in line with the hose. Off when it's going the opposite of the hose. Its the same way in plumbing
Daniel Beavers my general generator is opposite. Agervating as hell
I'm not surprised the engine was pretty good. A majority of China and SE asia run on 125cc bikes
true
These Amazon bikes seem decent for my 8 mile commute to school. Considering they get 50 mpg sure as hell beats my 8mpg wagon that’s premium

This looks like a great alternative as a first bike for a teen son/daughter (said at the start of the video). After watching the while video, not really. Good for any enthusiast willing to wrench on it. A novelty bike at best. This probably has been made to meet the European classification of an A1 "light motorcycle", hence the 125cc engine.
I'm more focused on the cat on the window hahahaha 🤣❤️❤️❤️

There is no quality control in cheap Chinese bikes guys make sure you do it for yourself like tight up all the nuts and bolts, put a good oil and fuel in it and do some slow rpm rides for atleast 500-700km or you gonna learn the hard way like I did it.
Im sure it was already suggested, but you absolutely have to change out the shipping oil when you get these bikes. It's also suggested to swap the carb for a mikuni clone. Also, some of these Chinese bikes wont start easily if the kickstand is down.
Yep! Gotcha. I'll probably be looking into upgrades this week!
It looks and sounds a lot like a Honda 125. I did riding school on one of those years ago. The Honda doesn't have a manual choke or carb. I put 91 octane in my high compression bikes. I can feel the diffenence when I don't.
The engine is an EXACT copy of the Honda 125.

Well worth it.
what was your top speed
My first bike was a Lifan 200cc/single cylinder sports bike that redlined at 32mph and topped out at 60mph. The problems started after the break-in period. At one point the motor wouldn’t turn over and something was just buzzing in the motor when I tried to turn it over. A bolt head snapped off from one of the casings on the motor and I could never get the bolt out in order to change it. That’s just my experience.
I want to see the 6th month review on this bad boy.

The problem isn’t the cats, the problem is a lack of motivation.
Maybe, and this is a hypothetical, maybe if you gave them some stock options?
The song at 13 minutes, I constantly hear: make you mooooo.
