Pat Benatar?
yeah where is she on here? wth loudwire
Funny story. I knew the guy that suggested that Lizzy Hale should use Pat as a model, given her voice. Now everyone knows Halestorm. Haha
Yep, hands down, one of the, of not the best! Pat Benatar
I was thinking the exact same thing! She ushered in a new era in the early 80s.
Jorge Decenvirale C I think she is not qualified, as she is more of a solo artist than a front woman.
Where's Siouxsie Sioux?
Siouxsie Sioux is a punk rock singer, loudwire do metal only and maybe hard rock as well
im glad to see robert plant at number 1
Fercho Romo that was janis joplin
CONNOR VANDYKE alright
What song was she singing?
Its Ozzy Osbourne kkk
🤣👍
Ann Wilson, Stevie Nicks, and Janis Joplin are the absolute best
ann wilson, amy lee, hayley williams
You Got That Right. There's no denying that fact. ❤
Hail Joan Jett ❤❤❤
🙌🏻🙌🏻
❤️🙌
Hell Yeah All Hail Joan Jett the Rebel Queen of Noise. Gotta Love her.❤❤❤❤❤
I absolutely adore Stevie Nicks' voice. I could listen to her sing all day.
Dolores O' Riordan?
Are you fucking serious? You left Pat Benatar out? I cannot believe this...
this dudes a heart breaker !
I hope that Taylor Momsen keeps doing her thing and ends up deserving a spot on this list. She is still very young though. I love her voice and the sound of female vocals with hard rock! Party on yoo!
You're right, she should be on the list, I love her voice
What band is this "Larrson" a part of?
I like her voice but the band sounds like its trying realllly hard to be edgy which just ends up with repetitive songs/sounds and unemotional lyrics. just my opinion tho. like i cant really get into them.
Ayee my girl Stevie, that's what i want to see
Glad to see Lzzy Hale here!
Why isn't there an "i" in her name?
The Abyssal Archivist I don't know...
I think she mentioned that when they were starting out, a fan compared her to Ozzy and started writing/typing her name out as Lzzy to emphasize the comparison and it just stuck.
Where the fuck is Tarja Turunen?
Floor is better frontwoman *grabs popcorn*
No one knows her.
+StrikerUSS I agree. She's the best thing that has ever happened to Nightwish.
Amazing singer but not so great frontwoman in my opinion. Not that much stage presence.
From what I hear she literally just posed all the time. Never so much as headbanged.
cranberries?
Omg yeah👍❤️
Their all amazing but my favorites are Amy Lee(her voice and vocal range is incredible and beautiful), Joan Jett, Lita Ford, Janis Joplin, Lzzy Hale, Stevie Nicks and Grace Slick(and I LOVE that song White Rabbit)❤️. I still think they should have added Cherie Currie, Pat Benatar, Suzi Quatro and Dolores O'riordan.
I agree
Amy Lee is the greatest singer ever IMO
So you'd bump Ann Wilson? Ummm. No.
@@Bonzi_Buddy 🤨
@@harleyquinn6692 You can bump Lita Ford and add one of those people. IMO Janis Joplin, while a one of a kind singer, is overrated and also shouldn't be on this list. So I came up with two people I'd personally bump from this list to accept any 2 of the ones you'd mentioned. I'd totally agree to that but no bumping of Ann Wilson from the top 10.
Pretty disturbing lack of Maria Brink
I agree.
she was in the metal one
Mhm
Joan Jett should have been in the top 3
This not a top it's just a list m8
I couldn't agree more, but it's great that she's on the list even if only in the number 4 spot.
1- Janis Joplin2- Ann Wilson3- Stevie Nicks4- Pat Benatar5- Grace Slick6- Chrissie Hynde7- Debbie Harry8- Amy Lee9- Nina Hagen10- Siouxsie Sioux
FINALLY someone mentions Nina Hagen. The world is vaguely making sense sense again, thanks.
4 is Joan Jett. And she deserves to be there. But pat benatar needs to be on here too
Thank you for mentioning Chrissie Hynde and Pat Benatar!!
*cough* Shirley Manson
Alissa White-gluz?? Courtney Love???
its weird saying cournty love with that profile pic
Alissa is metal not rock frontwoman
both shitty lol
Angela Gossow may be a better choice than Alissa White-Gluz.
IMO Angela is a better vocalist but Alissa is better as a frontwoman
What about Pat Benatar and Chrissie Hynd?
Correct....
Omg yes! They should have added Pat Benatar!
But... but... Siouxsie Sioux? Maria Brink? Otep Shamaya? Tairrie B? You should do a part two...
Maria Brink is absolutely metal, this is a rock list...
Amy , joan and debbie were always my favourites
The chick from Arch Enemy?
Angela or Alissa?
+djentspence both
Heavy metal is part of rock history.
Alexander Adrian Vargas
Arch Enemy is melodic death metal and has nothing to do with this video.
I don't think she is well known enough.
Stop living in the past. There were great if not better frontwomen in the 90's and 00s, I love Amy Lee but she isn't the only.
NO ONE in the 90s and 2000s is great or a rock legend . You don't have a clue
dude there are plenty of them
Sadly most talented music are from the "past" of course that's my opinion. But most female singers now a day are untalented ass
Well in my opinion there's a lot of modern female rock and metal vocalist but sadly they may not be as popular as it is incredibly hard to get popular in that scene these days
I agree and to be fair there is evidence to back up that claim too
Pat Benatar
Shirley Manson
Cherie Currie
Chrissie Hynde
Courtney Love
All amazing👍❤️
Courtney Love??? I'm not a Courtney hater... But that was a good one!!!
+ Siouxsie Sioux + Courtney Love
but YESS Debbie Harry❤️🙌
Not Courtney Love, definitely not Courtney Love, not in a million years
No Courtney
This list was actually pretty good, but you forgot Pat Benatar?
Agreed👍
even the rock of roll hall of fame has.
Doesn't front a band
@@richvitale8405 Pat Benatar fronts a band!!!
@Agent of Abaddon Stop doing drugs kid!!!!
I’ve never seen Joan Jett until this video and that’s what imagined she looked like
I saw Joan Jett Live back in 2008 in Edmonton Alberta, Canada. Joan Jett puts one hell of a show. I even got one of her guitar picks from that show. Truly great memories for me. Joan Jett Really Knows how to Rock & Roll.
5. Lzzy Hale (Halestorm)
4. Sharon den Adel (Within Temptation)
3. Amy Lee (Evanescence)
2. Dolores O’Riordan (Cranberries)
1. Ann Wilson (Heart)
In this moment?
I was hoping 😢 maria is amazing.
it was rock, not metal. they have done a list of that before with Maria on it.
Yeah she's really good too but it is rock. Same with Hailey Williams like I like Paramore and I like her voice but their deff not metal lol.
Missing quite a few. A metal frontwomen list will clear most up, but no Pat Benatar? Also, what happened to Suzi Quatro, arguably the first female rock 'n' roller and a rather strong contender for the title of "Queen of rock 'n' roll"?
I decree an honorable mention to Wendy O. Williams
no Doro Pesch!!?
wow that is kinda bad
really, Doro was my first thought when I saw the title
They put her in the Metal list. Personally, I'd have thought Rock was the better fit *shrug*
WHERE. THE FUCK. IS. LACEY. STURM
I love her, her voice is beautiful. I think they didn't add her cause their only talking about female singers in the metal genre
Siouxsie Sioux should be here somewhere
working on a time line project. here is what I have so far.
-Time Line of Female Rock and Roll-
Lillian Briggs releases first single selling 1M copies - 1955
Janis Martin signs with RCA Victor and relases first single selling 750K copies - March 1956

Janis Joplin records her first song - December 1962

Grace Slick joins Jefferson Airplane - Autumn 1966
Stevie Nicks joins the band Fritz - 1967

Wild Honey' changes name to 'Fanny' and is the first all female band to sign with a major label - Late 1969
Quatro (w/ Suzi Quatro) releases first single - 1972
Janis Joplin touched my soul when she sang. As far as female rock vocalists, I have her and Ann Wilson as number 2.. but it’s a distant number 2.
Yes! Janis at #1. She is the major influence on the other amazing women, so, well deserved!
janis joplin will always be the n.1
Where are...
Tarja Turunen
Simone Simons
Sharon Del Adel
Any of the singers of Sirenia?
Yes!! Someone gets it!
Good list but they specific rock music. I bet a least Tarja, Sharon, and Simone will be on their list for metal frontwomen.
+The Abyssal Archivist Yeah, but metal is derived from rock, so idk why they didn't include them.
The list is rock music. NOT metal music. In 2016 there's a big difference.
Justin Bieber... One direction had 5 front women. Oh wait, are you serious?
They're not rock , that's why
Yeah, read past that.heh
...and they're not top 10 xD
ayyy....LMAO. should be insulted because you included them in woman kind, but laughing nonetheless. no, not a directioners. i am old lady and wise.
@@nurlindafsihotang49 Hey now, girlie men seem to be a thing now in woke culture so its okay lol.
Siouxie from siouxie and the banshes?
I always thought Janis Joplin was R&B not so much Rock n Roll... lol but here she is on top of the Rock list, 🤘 way to go Janis.
As a non-American, I'm confused too. Where does Tina Turner and Etta James stands then, if Janis is listed. I think both are more famous and more influential in rock singing and swagger across the world than Lita Ford. .
What about dolores
I love Janis Joplin 💝🤘
Janis Joplin is an absolutely amazing singer. I've been a fan of hers for more than 40 years. My favorite album of hers is Pearl. Janis Joplin is fantastic. It's a shame that she is a member of the 27 Forever Club.
❤
were's marilyn manson?
where's
He's not a female
Sparxo it was a joke
He's not a man not a woman and I don't think he's human
Under Rose McGowans bed?
Ann Wilson should be higher
No Pat Benatar or Shirley Manson? and I thought Tina Turner would be number.1, she was pretty rockin' in her heyday but nowhere to be seen on this list...As much as I like Lizzy Hale maybe a little too soon in her career to make this list imo.
Well I must say that this is totally wrong because missing Dolores O'Riordan from Cranberries on this list was a huge mistake
Ann Wilson from heart should have been 1st
Wendy O Williams should be in that list.
Great list . I was looking for Wendy and Pat benatar
i can listen to stevie nicks all day
No Karen O? No Alison Mosshart? What's up with these lists?
No one has heard of them.
I think Yeah yeah yeahs and The Kills are but more well known than most of the bands that these women are associated with.
ELKIE BROOKS in Vinegar Joe. She’s been compared to Tina and Janis.
The fact that Maria Brink and Cristina Scabbia are not on this list is damn tragedy....and what about Anneke Van Giersbergen?
Not sure how that conclusion was made, but I respect your opinion. I happen to think she has a great aggressive voice when the music calls for it, and a absolutely beautiful voice when the music calls for the singing. "Ashes" off the Beautiful Tragedy album is proof of both of those points.
GREAT LIST!!! Needed one more PAT BENATAR
No Pat Benatar, are you kidding me?
WTF WENDY O WILLAMS should have been on this
Have you guys heard the vocalist from huntress, epica, arch enemy, lacuna coil, in this moment, amaranthe.. Etc etc, even Butcher babies ??
where's Dolores O'Riordan from cranberries
fuck yes. needs to be a part 2! \m/
I got most of these...Including Lizzie at 10 and Janis at 1,,,,,,,Pretty good but what about Chrissy and Pat!!!????
Where's Suzuka Nakamoto?
NO one has heard of her.
A lot of people have heard of her.
She's #1 at the frontgirls list, I guess. But yes, after the tokyo dome, she deserves a place here.
Also : where the fuck is Tarja ?
@@aspexpl tarja is on the 20 supreme goddesses of metal
Kate Bush smokes all of the above
Danielle Haim? Pat Benetar? Kim Gordon? I could keep going but there's so many. This should have been a lot longer.
Where's dolores of cranberries?????
No Dolores O'riordan?
Great to see Ann Wilson on here
WHERE IS WENDY O WILLIAMS?
Great list!!
Janis Joplin....❤
Gotta Love,Love,Love Her!!!❤
Where's Siouxie?
Shirley Manson , Wendy o Williams, Donna f, grace Jones, Karyn crisis, etc..
Ann Wilson or Blondie should've been #1
Karen O from Yeah Yeah Yeahs shoulda made list. Most engrossing live performer I have EVER seen (and I have seen Sabbath, original lineup, real talk). Look up Y Control video and tell me I am wrong...
Patti Smith :3
Ann Wilson is no1 no contest
My queen Lzzy is in the list🙌🏻🙌🏻
Joan Jett at #4? Are you kidding me? Anything less than #1 cannot be allowed!!! Anything less than #1 for Joan Jett is a travesty, a miscarriage of justice!!!
I don't think you can actually see who's on number 1.
Check out Janis Joplin's album Pearl & The song She did with Big Brother & the Holding Company called Piece of My Heart. That should tell you why Janis Joplin is in the number 1spot if not take a listen to the song Ball and Chain. Hope this helps you out. Don't get me wrong I love Joan Jett as well. I've been a fan of her's for over 40 years. So I get your point. She Kicks Ass no doubt about it. I've seen her live & she puts on one hell of a show!!!
@@George-lq3yu Bruv, imagine a collaboration between those 2! HOLY SHIT, that would have been wild!
That would more than wild and far more than intense. I'm not actually sure there are any words in the English language to describe what that would be like, but it's definitely fun to think about.
what's the song that Blondie was singing?
Union City Blue
Where is Linda Perry?
There were , and there will be only one, Janis Joplin.
Well Said, So Very True. Janis Joplin is, was & always will be One Of A Kind. Sadly she is 27 Forever as well.
Though I admit some of these these are more prog than rock, my own favorites: Candice Night (Blackmore's Night) , Annie Haslam (Renaissance) , Dale Bozzio (Missing Persons), Elizabeth Fraser (Cocteau Twins), Skin (who sang on Iommi's solo album among other things), Kate Bush (herself), Liv Kristine (Leave's Eyes), Carla Kihlstedt (Sleepytime Gorilla Museum). Okay some of these are little obscure too. Worth checking out though.
Sonja Kristina from Curved Air
Blackmore's Night and Renaissance ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love this list!
No Pat Benatar
No Dolores O'Riordan
No Bonnie rait
And No The Queen Of Rock n Roll
Ms.Tina Turner????
Wtf!
No one in this section have mentioned Alannah Myles. She may be close to a One Hit Wonder, but holy shit that woman can sing!!
Brody Dalle?
anyways joan and lita are my heroes ♥️
Kelly Johnson from Girlschool?
mmmm Dolores Mary Eileen O’Riordan? Sandra Nasic? Thank god at least Janis is here on the right place)
No Ash Costello or Maria Brink?
I really wanted to see maria on here!
i wanted to see Maria on here too, that bitch can scream
Taylor momsen, Lizzy hale and Joan jett
Hayley Williams?
where is Doro Pesch??? wtf
No one has heard of her.
they didn't include doro yet that chick from halestorm is there lmfao laughable list
I'm sorry but I don't think Lizzie from Halestorm should even be on here with all these legends on this list. I figure you would at least have Pat Benatar on this list.
# 1 - Farida Lemouchi
YES JOAN JETT AND LITA FORD MADE IT
rock on
👍🎸🎤
Grace Slick should have been top 5.
No Girlschool? I mean checkout Emergency or Race with the Devil. They started rocking in the 80s with Motörhead and haven’t stopped since then.
Please make part 2, 3, 4...
