Thanks for taking the time to check these out and throughly demo them. We couldn't be prouder and are looking forward to seeing what people end up creating with them!
OMG! I was in Vegas working the AIMExpo from the UK and I literally watched this video at my hotel in the evening, as I love this channel as I am looking for a new preamp, and I see Dave, fully dressed as Mario going to the LVL Expo (I presume) at the LV monorail station. I couldn’t believe it and had to introduce myself. We talked bass and bands and it was a fantastic 10-15 minutes or so talking all things bass (at least for me anyway). Thanks for your time Dave and letting me grab a photo to show the folks back home (even the Muse t-shirt fits in as I live in the same county as them in the UK and have shared a stage with them in my very early days). I guess I have to buy this pedal now as is seems fate 😂. Keep up the great work guys it is greatly appreciated all around the world. Cheers Mike (Still Life)
Mike! hey man it was great to meet you; funny, after our conversation I realized I hadn’t even recommended any preamps! This Origin is fantastic though, if a little pricey. So crazy to meet a fan from so far away, in such a random location as the monorail station. Good times and thanks for the support brother!
Watched all the videos multiple times (TBC excellent demos + others) and I still can't decide. I'm leaning towards the more subtle Fender box, but the SVT sounds better when cranked (and looks cooler!). Perhaps you guys could do an additional A/B test video, with and without the cab sim. Or not... we'll all just buy both of them anyway Kidneys are overrated :D
This pedal seems great for a quick solution to a tight situation at a gig. My only gripe is that that the cab sim has no on/off option for the xlr out. The cab sim on this sounds fine though. Just weird there's no on/off for the sim when the pedal is engaged.
Love the SABDDI but the dirty sound from that doesn't sound like this one. It IS more expensive than most preamp pedals, though, that's for sure! I think this one would be good if you're sending it to a poweramp instead of a full head - this pedal's price is not so bad if you're using it as half a head.
@@davedixon2167 Yep, it would make sense if you're doing the poweramp thing. I use other pedals for dirty sounds, so for me a pedal like this is first in the chain, DI goes directly to the desk for live if something goes wrong in the chain, and helps me with levels and EQ if I'm ABing different instruments. So I never actually drive these things too much. To me they all sound a little too compressed when going for a distorted sound, so I on't really use them with that in mind.
@@xdoctorblindx i do own the vintage microtubes deluxe and really like the compression... This sounds very similar to me with no compression and a cab sim that you can't turn off. Aren't they all 'ampeg inspired'? Is it half as good as a noble? Good times for bassists!
For the sound and features this pedal has, you're better off paying way less for the Tech 21 DI 2112 Geddy Lee pedal. That one sound like a real tube amp. This Origin Effects pedal just sounds like and EQ with distortion.

These are awesome pedals!
Please make a Acoustic 360 +1x18 cab and fuzz drive
Keep the bass pedals coming. The Cali76 bass is superb and the bassrig super vintage sounds amazing.
Got my SV 2 days ago and I’m totally enjoying it. What a great pedal. With a headphone out it would be just perfect.
These are amazing. Please consider a FlipTop version for those 115 lovers
This approach to demoing is much more efficient and interesting
Especially when there's volume differences between bypassed and engaged modes :(
Excellent and clear demo. Thanks !!
That's so rare to present so many different tones achieved by different basses !!
Great idea to give samples from multiple typical bass models

Awesome demo! 😎🤘🏻🎸 it sounds killer clean and distorted. I personally like how it sounds with the schecter stiletto bass.
As a preamp freak I think this does the job well.It sounds great. That said there are more than enough Ampeg tone stacks out there.
That's why I would buy the blue Fender one. I already have a Grizzly bass amp clone
More GK800rb and Orange styled stacks on the market would be ace.

OMG I love this so much and I’m barely a bass player. I’m so close to buying one for my bass player.
Incredible sounding pedal! Between this and the '64 it's gonna be a tough choice.
That 64 sounds fantastic
@@pjfields2382 I dig them both, tbh. The '64 has the more versatile controls, I think. But, I'm an SVT fan.
Well now you're gonna have to shoot it out against the BDDI, VT Bass, and Ampeg SCR DI.
Yes
Great pedal. Hats off to Chris for quoting “God of Thunder.”
I went with the '64 and it's great. Why then do I keep coming back to this? I know my weak ass lack of self control will lead me to buying this.
Could you do a A/B test with the 64'black? That would be nice
Tough choice this or the '64, I think I need both.
Could you guys take a look at the Spite Box from Salt Box Workshop? It's a new fuzz from the guys at BSRI and Damnation Audio.
Hi! Great video. Is the 1/4 Amp Out affected withe the Cab Sim or just de DI? Thanks
Dudes, awesome demo! Thank you so much! Argh, my wife is gonna kill me! 🤑😄🤑
Hi
It simulates 8x10 + Svt head but what are their exact references ?
How does it sound through a clean amp ?
Sold
It's awesome. Blue or black ?
Can you turn off the cab sim through the DI when the pedal is active?
No, you can't.
@@ronbarzilai5705 That's too bad.
Is this a brand new product or older one..I can't find this on their website nor any info on this pedal.
They haven't officially released, yet. They're supposed to launch in about 20 minutes, I think. XD
Just released. The website should be updated now
@@OriginEffectsUK Looks like The Bass Channel fell in the old GMT GMT+1 trap. XD
@@SquareWaveSymphonies Ain't a big deal. Happy to finally have them out there!
@@OriginEffectsUK Congrats on the new releases, then. They sound magnificent!
It sounds good but not for 500 bucks. The SansAmp Bass Driver DI still kills all these iterations.

Ive been using a demon knock off tube screamer into my sans amp. Really got a balanced tone right now. Going to even rock that for our new album
Josh is not the best example to talk about classic sound if he does that gallop!
It sounds like a Sansamp.
The Sansamp sounds like a SVT + a mic'd 8x10 so that's gonna happen haha.
Me likes !
Will have to stack against vintage microtubes, this seems less compressed
This sounds orders of magnitude better than anything from Darkglass. They're not even in the same ballpark.
@@xdoctorblindx i do own the vintage microtubes deluxe and really like the compression...

Good times for bassists!
I think the question is less “this vs. Darkglass” and more “this plus Darkglass”. Throw the VMT in front to drive the input and it’s awesome.
@@xdoctorblindx And you know that about a pedal that was just released a few hours ago?

The only thing I noticed about the Geddy Lee DI is there’s no bypass switch
@@Spartan87667 Yep. So you can't use it like and on/off overdrive.
Another $500 pedal. Ouch.
gotta see a shootout with my Tech21 VT Bass DI before I would ever part with 400. plus? dollars..
remember guys we’re not all making rockstar money!!
Neither are we
Keep your VT it's much of a muchness, imo.
Meh… the drive sounds nothing like an Ampeg amp drive.
The Sansamp does that much more closely.
@@WilDBeestMF definetly
it's a $hitty preamp. Nobody likes it. Total failure.
Just ordered 🩵🩵
