Why no headphone output and aux in? I played for 22 years and since one year I have a hotone nano on my pedalboard, just for practice playing with RUclips... I play way more than I used to.. at night, no neighbour's complaining, ... I play way more at home than with the band, or on stage... to only reason I would buy a new preamp is to dump the nano and EH preamppedal ... please next time aux in and headphone out?

For a pedal like this, a late 60s Guild Starfire bass with Pyramid flat wounds would be great to hear. It's the San Francisco sound!

As always, great comprehensive review. My thoughts. This pedal has all the classic lo-fi tones, but adds rich harmonics and add a ton of character. It's not a jack of all trades, but it is a master of one.

Ampegs are absolutely amazing, I’ve got one myself. But the Fender Bassman is the OG. Without the Bassman we wouldn’t have the amazing bass amps we have today

So the bassman is the all tube pre-cursor to the 69 Ampeg SVT? I really would love to invest in the 50th Anniversary SVT heritage with the two channels of Ampeg’s best era ‘69 and ‘75 but it’s a $2700 head

@@xero_2003 Right now I have an Orange AD200 MK III head, but I can’t get it to have the SVT tone, even after putting GE 6550 tubes in it, which tells me the SVT Analog circuitry is completely different ( no comparison) The Orange I guess does the Orange thing really good, but I’m looking to invest in the $2700 50th SVT Heritage that I mentioned in the above thread! Maybe I’ll keep the Orange for the small shows and use it in the Fall/ Winter, and bring out the Ampeg for the bigger shows in the Spring/ Summer, my band is performing at Summerfest July 1st but I don’t have the finances for the SVT configuration I want, so I might just snag this pedal or the Origin Effects “Super Vintage Bass Rig” and run that D.I and Mic the Orange head/ 1X15 Cab at that show.

You say you're using the direct out to Tascam to demonstrate just the sound of the pedal but with many modern amps like a Genz Benz or Genzler for example you could take the signal from this device out to the effect in loop allowing this to act as the pre-amp stage. Not sure if I'd be willing to drop $500 plus tax to see if I'd be happy with it !

another epic content as always. I am currently using a black edition DCX Bass in EQ mode as a tone shaper with my Darkglass Alpha Omega Photon. Now, I'm just waiting for my OE Bass Rig 64 Black to arrive to add to my minimalist fly rig. I plan to place the Bass Rig at the end of the chain (EBMM Stingray 4 > DCX Bass > DG Alpha Omega Photon > 64 Black). I intend to use the DCX Bass as a boost or for my clean tone, and have my Darkglass drive the Bass Rig. Considering that they are all preamps, would it be too much to have three preamps on one board? If you can please create a content stacking pre amps like origin with darkglass would be killer.

Here is an ideaa that would sell like hot cakes ..imagine origin did a 3 way pedal....like a dcx..the 60s tig and the svt all in one..... separate setting via foot switch....kinda like the old Vt deluxe from tech 21....except with the cali pedals......man
