We’ve listened to this at the end of our fantasy baseball draft for 21 years straight because of the MVP 2004 soundtrack. This song makes grown men cry about pretend baseball. Thanks for the memories.
Saw these guys play at the Crocodile Cafe in Seattle years ago for like....$12 or so....the band opening for them was The Killers who blew an amp head in the middle of their set and borrowed one from Stellastar. While they were changing it out, the singer from The Killers started singing some tune from the Smiths, which sounded awesome.... The Killers were good that night, but Stellastar, they blew me away. I will never forget that show.
+MrTimesetter You're lucky! I never got to see them in a big space, let alone something small and intimate. Got to see St. Lucia in a small club a year ago. That will never happen again, and that was the best show I have ever seen.
I had the same experience, but in Camden! They supported The Killers and were way better, it was awesome. I've just got back into them after my six year old found the album, they were SO good
This stuff blew 16-year-old me away. I used to stay up real late, drunk as a skunk off itty bitty Smirnoff with this bouncing jubilantly out of my headphones. Thanks, stella gang for making junior year sonically exciting.
Found them thanks to being on the Janes Addiction Strays UK tour when I saw them at Doncaster Dome. They were f'in superb & made it all the more worthwhile for a 250mile round trip from Eastern England!!
I went to NYC in '04 to see DEVO at Central Park. These guys opened, and then the Yeah Yeah Yeahs were next. Perhaps the most enjoyable concert I've yet attended.
@@ryangossett8211 The concert was most entertaining. It rained that day, it rained through Stellastarr*s act, it stopped halfway through the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and was dry for DEVO. But.... at the end of "Beautiful World", the very moment that DEVO stepped off the stage, the rain came back with a vengeance.
Found this CD around the house the other day, I can still sing every word and it’s really fun to do so. It really should have been a karaoke classic by now!
Such an underrated band. I remember discovering Stellastar with this video. Couldn’t sleep one night and had the tv turned on to MTV when they would still play music videos late at night.
I didn’t realize it at the time when I was 14, but when I needed an escape from the low self-esteem and mental health issues I had back in 2003/2004... this song served as my anthem. I never really realized that was the reason WHY I listened to this song a lot (aside from playing MVP 2004), until years later whenever I periodically revisit this song.
I arrived at my workstation this morning and thought, "Where's my cocoa?" It tickled a memory. "Wasn't that a song? My co co co?" And here I am. It's a great song, I don't know how I forgot it.
PSA: The first few seconds of this amazing song is from the last 40 seconds of the song "Somewhere Across Forever" by stellastarr*. Just in case any other of you internet travellers wanted to know...
MVP Baseball 2004! I once played in season mode from 8:00 am until 5:00 am the next morning only stopping to eat and go to the bathroom. So many hours wasted!
This song meant a lot to me when I heard it back a couple years after it came out I think. I don't think I've ever even known someone in real life who has mentioned this band, it's kind of weird to like something so much that nobody else seems to know about.
I agree with you 100%! I was introduced to this band by this girl who was working at a Borders bookstore in Chicago. I was part of the training crew who was in town to help set up a brand new store and she was on the crew for the store. We encouraged folks to bring in upbeat music to play while we worked and this is the disc she brought in. I was hooked from the very first listen.
I heard this song as a lil kiddo. Practically forgotten it. Searched the internet to find this song with little to no luck. Nearly 20 years and I finally found it.
This song will always be my sister's and my driving jam! We used to go driving together when we lived in the same town and she always played her cassette tape with this song!
The first time I heard this song was in the little known movie "Enter Nowhere", in 2015. It was funny, because my nieces had just adopted a dog named "Coco" about 4 years earlier, which this song reminded me of. Great song.
Supporting Jane's Addiction at Doncaster Dome, I didn't know of em, but a blindingly good set & I vowed to track down their album. Brilliant & stuck with me ever since. Much like the defunct and much missed Tripping Daisy
an absolute belter of an album , takes me back to 20 , its amazing how a song takes you back to specific feeling or even nite , remamber things that werenot thought of for years amazing the power of a great song !!!
Gosh this song brings back such fabulous memories...and, Survivor Season 43 has me singing this song again, every time someone mentions the Coco tribe 😄
I'm back four years later. Did ya miss me? No? Oh, well. Where does the time go? I took in a stray cat several years ago and named her Coco in honor of the song and so I can call her _My Cococo._
I’ve just discovered this band properly only to be dismayed they’re no longer producing music! Such a massive shame they sound great - WELL beyond their time! I’d love to hear new stuff if they ever decide to re-group (hint hint! 😆)
My sister listened to this song a lot when i was younger. I remember singing it with her in the car all the time. And for some reason, i thought of it again. God, i still love this song.
I remember seeing this video on MTV back in the day I can’t believe that’s around 15 years ago now.Back before you could listen to anything you wanted whenever or at least I was to young to figure all of that out lol
D Lee me too. there is no good radio in Boston anymore. got 4 or 5 stations playing hip hop & R&B, and 2 country stations. FNX was a legendary station that introduced me to so much great music. I'll always miss it!
Stellastar* is an awesome band, I first heard them 4 years ago, I saw them live at a little venue called the Troubador in Hollywood with Pandrew, and they were amazing, it's like watching an orgasm, they have so much energy, it's honestly contagious. Highly recommend watching they're live shows. :p
We’ve listened to this at the end of our fantasy baseball draft for 21 years straight because of the MVP 2004 soundtrack. This song makes grown men cry about pretend baseball. Thanks for the memories.
Hell yes!!!
I need to meet this crew!
Nobody appreciates this comment more than me
2023 and I'm still in love with this song! There's just something comforting and soothing about it
I don't think I will ever tire of this song!

I caught that same tour at Great American music hall that year. The Killers opened up and killed it great memories.
I had the same experience, but in Camden! They supported The Killers and were way better, it was awesome. I've just got back into them after my six year old found the album, they were SO good
FYI- I wrote it. All of it. .
I was at that Croc show too!
YOU'RE MYYYY COCOCOOOOO
jesus what a throwback. Cant believe i was 15 when this came out.
If anyone is curious, the song playing in the beginning is "Somewhere Across Forever" by stellastar*, also a great song you should check out!
THANK YOU!!!
MVP Baseball 2004 where I found the song....still love the song.....11 years later.....

This stuff blew 16-year-old me away. I used to stay up real late, drunk as a skunk off itty bitty Smirnoff with this bouncing jubilantly out of my headphones. Thanks, stella gang for making junior year sonically exciting.
CHILDHOOD YOU GET YOUR ASS BACK HERE AND TURN ON MY GAMECUBE AND PLAY MVP BASEBALL 2004!
This song quite literally keeps me alive.
I will never forget MVP Baseball 2003
the most under rated album of all time..Incredible album.
15 years later and I keep coming back to this album. I think I love it even more than when I first heard it. Total underrated classic.
Found them thanks to being on the Janes Addiction Strays UK tour when I saw them at Doncaster Dome. They were f'in superb & made it all the more worthwhile for a 250mile round trip from Eastern England!!
Yes sir
Cracking album xx takes me back to the original indie disco :) xx
Where did they go?!....💔
I went to NYC in '04 to see DEVO at Central Park. These guys opened, and then the Yeah Yeah Yeahs were next. Perhaps the most enjoyable concert I've yet attended.
Wow!! What a show that would have been!
I was there!! Stellastar was amazing!

Still SLAPS.
Live 105 used to play StellaStarr quite regularly. I miss good terrestrial radio .
One of my favorites from watching daddy play MVP baseball '04...constantly stuck in my head!
Happened upon this band a couple years ago. They are on repeat for my cycling commute. So happy they exist.
I discovered them and this song through the movie Enter Nowhere(2011). Great song, great movie.
Great song, great band
Sadly they no longer exist
@@jusbaize Well, that is unfortunate.’
MVP BASEBALL GANG
Such an underrated band. I remember discovering Stellastar with this video. Couldn’t sleep one night and had the tv turned on to MTV when they would still play music videos late at night.
Ahhhhh this is how i found them too, late night mtv

From one Cubs fan to another, I'm glad this song has helped you!

This song has seen me through many a dark time. Thanks to such great music
It's like it's exactly what this song was ment for. No matter how shitty my mood this song makes me feel happy
Just rocked this song at a Karaooka tonight. I wish I had pulled it off a little better. 😛
Christian Finnigan led me here. I cant believe Ive never heard of them! Just an amazing song..I'm about to binge!
Ichiro was a god in MVP Baseball 2004
OMG riiiight he friggin bolted across the field like it was NUTHIN!!

Told the wife I wanted some Hot Coco and this song popped up in my head. Been like 15+ years
My all time favorite song. Lucky enough to see them in San Francisco at Thr Independent in 2005
I arrived at my workstation this morning and thought, "Where's my cocoa?" It tickled a memory. "Wasn't that a song? My co co co?" And here I am.
It's a great song, I don't know how I forgot it.
close, but this song is about cocaine though hahah
Hi, I'm Duane Kuiper along with Mike Krukow for MVP Baseball, brought to you by EA Sports. EA Sports: It's in the game.
PSA: The first few seconds of this amazing song is from the last 40 seconds of the song "Somewhere Across Forever" by stellastarr*. Just in case any other of you internet travellers wanted to know...
this is one of the most early 00s songs imaginable
MVP Baseball 2004! I once played in season mode from 8:00 am until 5:00 am the next morning only stopping to eat and go to the bathroom. So many hours wasted!
Nah hours of glory my man!
Hours of pure awesomeness and Ichiro was always leading haha
My brother, those hours were many things, but wasted is not one of them.
I've been playing this song ever since it made it's debut. I have a cat nicknamed To and this is her song. She's 17 years young. She's my To to!
Still fantastic song after these years
This song meant a lot to me when I heard it back a couple years after it came out I think. I don't think I've ever even known someone in real life who has mentioned this band, it's kind of weird to like something so much that nobody else seems to know about.

And yet I know this song and I'm from Peru. An old radio station used to play it back then =)
I discovered them in one of the early 2000s MLB games on PS2. Oh, nostalgia...
Everytime I listen to this song, much with the others from MVP baseball, I get taken back to simpler times.
Me too, man.
I heard this song as a lil kiddo. Practically forgotten it. Searched the internet to find this song with little to no luck. Nearly 20 years and I finally found it.
That's awesome dude
Underrated song.
Remember this band from 2004.
This song will always be my sister's and my driving jam! We used to go driving together when we lived in the same town and she always played her cassette tape with this song!
Was this a mix tape? I highly doubt this album was ever released on cassette.
Still love this song in 2019
If there was a Top 10 Songs of the 2000s that No One I Know Knew About, this would be near the top.
I miss the post-punk/new wave revival. The 80's came back for a while in the 00's.
💯💯💯 2000s kid here and same
The first time I heard this song was in the little known movie "Enter Nowhere", in 2015. It was funny, because my nieces had just adopted a dog named "Coco" about 4 years earlier, which this song reminded me of. Great song.
Came across this song by accident. Great tune. So uplifting
It is! It just feels good
Supporting Jane's Addiction at Doncaster Dome, I didn't know of em, but a blindingly good set & I vowed to track down their album. Brilliant & stuck with me ever since. Much like the defunct and much missed Tripping Daisy

Flashpoint922 Man, you said it. We have 92.9 calling themselves Boston's alternative now. It's pathetic.
D Lee 92.9 SUCKS! If they mean by Boston's "alternative" to anything good!
One of my favorite releases in 2003.
True. Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots though! Nothing could top that
+Mattydigs Oh, you're absolutely right. I had forgotten Yoshimi was released in the same year.
Hate to be 'that guy' but it was released in 2002 (flaming lips album that is).

For some reason I remember this song out of no where from 5 years ago when I first heard it. Great song.
Anyone have the lyrics for the secondary voice at the end? It sounds really cool but I can't make out what they're saying
OMG me to lol I just found it today. I only heard it like twice and it has been haunting me like the last 7 years.
I was trying to find this song for so long - I'll never forget it again! Here's reliving songs from our formative years!
MVP baseball brought me here
241am and this song just randomly popped into my head.

Lol I remember this song. It was a good yr after winning 2 mvp's for best pitcher and best outfielder from slopitch summers. 😎👉👉...
