22:18 To be fair they show that Harry found Spider-man standing over his father's impaled corpse, and changed him out of the costume as soon as Peter left and before the Cops arrived. Which means in his dissociated state he saw Peter walk into his room to glare at him and refuse to answer any questions including where his dad is, then abandons him on the stairs. Harry, still in his addled state managed to get out of the door to search for his father, only to find Spider-man (who he'll soon suspect to be Peter) standing over his corpse. It's not realistic psychiatry but you get why he'd be a bit fucked up by that. And that's without finding out about Gwen after (even if Conway forgot).
Gwen Stacy's death is my favorite Spider-Man story aside from the origin, and Conway's run is my favorite era of Spider-Man... And I wasn't born until the early 80s
honestly, I adore your videos i love how you go through the entire run of ASM in detail i can't wait for the day your playlist consists of the entire run up to modern-day ASM so informative and in-depth much love and respect especially considering the quality you output despite the the small cult following you are cultivating i hope more people find and share your channel you deserve so many more subscribers but you can clearly see you don't do this for the subs you do it because you genuinely love Spider-man much love and respect true believer! 🔥💯
My thoughts as I was reading this type of comic run. 1: This artwork was good. 2: Spider-man does not need a spider-mobile. 3: Aunt May getting married by Dr. ock 😬🤢. 4: JJ’s son becoming the wolf man, not bad. 5: The Jackal aka professor Warren, should’ve been beaten down by Spider-Man. But instead, he redeemed himself and died. 6: Clone Gwen Stacy regrets Peter 💔💔. 7: Peter Parker has duodenal ulcer! Come on man, the guy has been through a lot & you wanted to unload more upon him! 8: The ending shots of Spider-Man ending the battle was neat. 9: The tension between Peter and Mj was interesting. 10: Wished the writers didn’t have Aunt May knocking Peter unconscious at Doc Oct’a house 🤞🏻. 11: The murder mystery was good. 12: Gwen’s death was the braking point for Peter & Norman isn’t safe anywhere. 13: Peter isn’t so bad, at least he tries to look on the bright side of things, even after the death of Norman and Gwen. Unlike Harry 👿. 14: Love that ending of Peter and Mj getting back together ♥️♥️❤️. Pete has every right to be angry, since his whole world is coming down before and after Gwen’s death. And I would disagree with you on Luke being a cage for Peter. I would say that Peter showed Luke not to mess with Spider-Man. Also, the ending of Harry exposing Peter of his identity that was a twist. Instead of defending himself, he just asked the officer to take care of him because he’s his friend. He didn’t even care that his secret was exposed. Just that he wants the best for his friend.
1973 great year for spider man. Sad year for Gwen tho. That said i always felt Gwen fate was related to his father's own fate. To me once Lee, Romita Sr and Kane decided to kill capitaine Stacy it was a big step in Gwen's death. It is probably they did not know yet at the end of 1970 but that's how i see it.
Gonna say something maybe controversial and not as well-informed as Finn, who's actually reading every single issue and not just the big storylines, but I don't think Marvel was wrong to kill Gwen Stacy. I agree that it stinks to kill a character just for shock value (not that I'm saying this is what happened with Gwen), but I think superheroes are improved by having danger around every corner because, nobody fights crime without risk to themselves or the people they care about and violence has a way of snuffing people out with no pomp and circumstance. I don't think every story needs death (but I do think it's great for establishing villains as legitimate threats, especially when they're just killing background characters) and I wouldn't want every major character death to be so abrupt as Gwen's, but I think it's perfect that Gwen's death turned out the way it did. Spidey did absolutely nothing wrong (even worked his butt off fighting with that flu) and Gwen didn't deserve it, but it happened anyway because nobody's perfect and consequences can be as dangerous as they are permanent. The fact that Gwen could have still offered a lot of stories for years to come only makes her passing hit harder for me, because it doesn't feel like a convenient story set up to close a chapter, it's just a horrible thing that happened out of nowhere, like real-world serial killers are to their victims (and that's essentially what the Green Goblin is). That said, I'm glad that Spidey doesn't lose people so nonchalantly on a regular basis and think that something as abrupt as Gwen's death should only happen once in a while and probably only once per main character (as in, Spidey only gets one Gwen, X-Men only get one, Cap only gets one, etc). Unrelated, but the artwork shown of Spidey high up in the air or up on top of the Brooklyn Bridge feel like great artwork to me. Despite the fact that they're still pictures, the angles they're drawn at make me feel dizzy and that makes it feel like the scenes are happening high up in the air and that someone could go plummeting to their death at any minute. That's great stuff. Also great were jokes in the script like, "Peter...deals with it" and "Great story, after great story, after a Kangaroo issue, after great story."
Raimi has different parameters in a different medium. MJ is much better here. Notice the revisit to Harry's Goblin snap- this run and those early issues were the richest influences.

Hey have you seen the new amazing spider man comic trailer after zeb wells
@@EdehEmmanuel-d7r I quit following modern Spider-Man after Dead Language so I have no idea what's going on and I'm gonna keep it that way.
@@FinnSutoThe2nd ok
@@FinnSutoThe2nd but I still have hope that one day it will be peak
I actually liked version with music. This made the end more emotional. I even watched this video many times and especially the ending.
It took me 14 minutes of "I swear he's said this before" to realize it's a reupload lmao

Conway also gave us Spider-Clone…it’s got to be hard to hit a home run every time with 12 plus stories a year
Can't wait for the video on the second run of Conway. On the Spectacular Spider-Man between 1988-1991. It's one of my favourites.
Gwen Stacy's death is my favorite Spider-Man story aside from the origin, and Conway's run is my favorite era of Spider-Man... And I wasn't born until the early 80s

Better audio, more dramatic title, Conway legendary run… yep, gonna rewatch it for the nth time!

25:43 best moment of the run!
But wow what a twist is next
Reason to rewatch my favorite Finn's video
That ghosting is called The De Luca effect
My favorite fashion era for MJ! This is the first era of Marvel to present realistic women with depth. Englehart < Conway < Gerber

Ive always hated dialogue on covers too.
15:48 could you please repeat that
Wait so are you doing all of Spiderman??
Cause jms/jrjr is peak to me
Your channel has such a linear feel

Your thoughts on those covers are just an awful take.
