it's a little bit of a myth that the injuries Newcastle got were because of the amount of games, it actually started very early on in the season. If you look at just the 2nd Champions League game against PSG they had already got players out injured with long-term issues (Botman, Barnes, Willock, Wilson, Joelinton) Newcastle's main injury issue last season was actually more to do with the severity, length and reoccurring injuries, when you look at when those injuries happened they either tended to be injuries that had happened early in the season or injuries in periods where Newcastle were already out of the Champions League. If you listened to Eddie Howe during the summer the indication seems to be that he thinks a lot of the injuries and reoccurrences were down to certain training plans and intensity, along with freak injuries like Pope and Murphy dislocating their shoulders.. I think generally Newcastle were very unlucky with how last season played out with injuries, they ended up having the most days lost to injury in the league and on top of that the big signing from the summer was banned for 10 months which resulted in a 17 year old having to fill in the centre of the pitch for much of the season. Having said that, they did remarkably well to still finish 7th with a threadbare squad and that season beat teams like City, Man Utd, Chelsea and hammer Spurs and Villa, all while scoring 85 goals in the league and often with their 3rd choice fullbacks having to fill in at centre back
@@paulmcgreevy3011 he didn't forget there were just no alternatives back so many of the players had long-term injuries. I mean when Wilson was injured pretty much the only fit striker was Isak, so there was never an opportunity to rest Isak.
@@hartshapedvid maybe he shouldn't have bought Barnes then and used that money for a striker. Or spent his whole budget better. £55m for 1 player was a joke.
If there's one player I'd like to meet it would be shearer. My idol. Best england striker of my generation. I've even got a cool mug with his pic printed on that I've had for 30 years.
Shearer is thick. He favours average British players and doesn't like foreigners. Got us relegated by dropping Coloccini and Gutierrez because they weren't British
Something isn’t right at Newcastle and it’s being highlighted with this clown show involving Crystal Palace and the flat as a fart, at home performance against Southampton.
At the risk of some backlash here and people rolling their eyes and calling me a member of the PC-brigade, I would just like to say that using terms like "disabled people" or "people with disabilities" sounds a lot nicer than "the disabled", as it makes it sound a bit like it's "us and them". That being said, it is just a minor point I wanted to make and overall what Alan Shearer has done with his foundation is absolutely superb!
I think “lesser abled” is a nicer term. You’re right this comment is a bit picky but no one really understands until they live with someone that has a disability
@@connor7162 can you image describing something as being "for the gays"? Personally I think there's nothing wrong with the word disabled, it's just putting "the" before it that felt weird to me, as a disabled person myself.
Total respect to Shearer from a Celtic supporter

Eddie forgot to rotate players. Just played the same players week in week out until they broke.
@@paulmcgreevy3011 He didn't have any to rotate.... December he had 13 fit senior players.

If you were at the match last Saturday you’d know the atmosphere was wild. Inspired by the injustice of the early red card

Lets also not forget the terrible luck we had with cup draws last season. We should never have been in that group of death in the Champions League.
This is getting out of hand either pay the money or move on
I reckon he could still easily manage 5 miles in under an hour.
I disagree with Alan. I absolutely dont want him at Newcastle, absolutely ridiculous price for a mediocre CB. Money is much better spent on a RW.
