Having soo much fun! Why all the complaints? It's her creation, she can jolly well teach it however she wants!! I'm just glad she's sharing her creative gift with us.
Little tip! There is 16 total fans for row two. And it may help you to mark your final double crochet with a stitch marker so it’s easier when changing colours to see exactly where to start with your chain 3 in the new colour 😊
Ha ha! Cheeky! You tricked us - we all thought we would be doing the lights next! Love how you describe them as Christmas jumpers. Thanks for making these videos- they really help.🥰
I just started Week 2 a few days ago, and I'm having so much fun! I've used and learned several stitches and techniques that I've never done before. I can't wait to take advantage of the long Thanksgiving weekend to try to make up some progress. This blanket may not get finished until Christmas Day, but I'm determined to keep chugging along! 😁
It seemed right to me. The bobble is over the space between the groups of 3. I just finished my 3rd panel of the bobble row. I do have 6 stitches before the bobble at the beg of the row and 7 stiches after the last bobble to the end of the row.
Everyone is so far ahead in this pattern and I am still stuck on this week.... It is killing my love of crochet. I was so filled with excitment to do this pattern! I don't follow the written pattern well so a visual pattern I thought would be amazing...but you are4 saying things like...ok repeat rows 5 to 9...and meet you back ...and i am sitting here thinking... what?.... what are rows 5 to 9... and it is honestly making me consider throwing my attempts into the bin... I have never felt this despondent about a crochet pattern, ever. The video isn't even time stamped to know where you did rows 5 to 9...so i am re-watching it all...over and over.
The video is meant to be a guide. I am fairly new to crocheting and found that if I only followed along with the video I was not learning to my fullest potential. I had to then go back and look at the written pattern and also listen carefully to her video instructions. It is worth it to take the time to look at the written pattern and match it up to what she is explaining in video. I am only finishing week one now. I am not worried about when I finish. I am just having fun pushing myself to try. I am enjoying it. Remember folks years ago video was not available, only patterns. Enjoy the process. :)
I found the same problem but I haven’t received the written pattern this week so I was unable to check. I also notice the video says 3 chain at the last part of row 3 when it should be chain 2. In the picture of the blanket that the colour of pop corns are not yellow on the other group. I can’t check with the written pattern though.
@@hazeldonner1855you can go to their website and download the pattern directly from them if you still haven’t gotten it yet! I’ve had to do that both weeks so far, but you get it instantly :)
I’m surprised she never picked up the blanket and showed us exactly what sections we will be making. Attaching the strips to the white will be a challenge ( for me) to perfectly match them up. A very advanced skill we will be learning! Bring it on! 😊
I just screenshot it and counted to do them. Then I'll pick up stitches to do the stripes. The only thing I'll seam in is the candy and I'll seam it flat with a mattress stitch maybe
my panels don’t measure to 25 1/2in x 7 1/4in. they’re 21 1/2in x 6in and even week 1 panel mine is smaller than it’s suppose to be. i try to keep my tension lose i’m hoping everything fits or if i can block them to be a little bigger
Make sure the row before has 98 stitches. Perhaps you started the row on the wrong stitch. I always want to put the first stich into what looks like the 1st stitch but its actually not because the chain counts as being the 1st stitch so I skip what looks to be the 1st stich and start in the next one. Not sure if I explained it good enough. Stop the video at the point where she starts that row and check where she starts stitching.
Row 5 I keep getting 97 total, including the 3ch. I’m on my second panel and had to do a double “treble” in the second to last stitch. I’m wondering if it’s bc she put one in the very first stitch but I keep watching the video and she skips it soooo is it me lol
I'm a little confused by row 11, are we doing trebles on top of the puff stitches as well? I wish I could see that step because it doesn't look right no matter how I try it!
Yes, so to make the stitch count back to what it was, you work a row of trebles, one in each stitch, including the yellow stitches on top of your puffs. I made a mistake of skipping the puff stitches at first, then my V stitch count was off.
@@zanetakucharczyk2538I did this but now my final row is way more than 98 but it still looks rectangular. Do you think it's ok to have too many or is this going to completely ruin the candy can't stripes? This is my first blanket and I'm worried the panels won't all fit together. I have already made three though...
@@missbyrdieful you should have 100 at the end of the panels, with the last row being increased at the start and the end, from 98 to 100. How many stitches do you have? The candy stripes are worked on a base of 100 and they need to be that width for the candy squares to fit alongside, to make a square.
My final row of trebles is 105 if I'm counting correctly so the top stitches are probably even more than that. Goodness gracious haha Maybe I am starting my first stitch wrong so I'm adding in too many?
@@missbyrdieful oh no. I feel like the only way to have the blanket fit together with all the other pieces in the end is unfortunately to frog it 😭 I'm so sorry, you've put in all this work, making 3 panels.
Hi! 👋 I'm absolutely loving the CAL so far, and have finally learned how to read a pattern thanks to the combination of video/pattern. The videos are so helpful! I've done 1 panel in each colour so far and they are different lengths but the correct number of stitches 😬 Should I redo one? Not sure if it will cause me problems down the line!
If they are drastically different I would redo one!! When attaching the panels later it might give you problems if they are different lengths. They are most likely different lengths due to your varying tension tightness/looseness in each panel/row.
One of my panels is on the wrong side and one is on the right side, but they both have 16 rows(I’ve only done 2) I have no idea what I’ve done wrong😭 I’m hoping it’ll be fine when I sew it all up

This is the panel directly outside of the lights, on the top and bottom of the gingerbread house. The peach color will be connected to the lights it seems♥️ Have fun!
The lighter yarn would be better against a darker background. I love to see shots of the blanket, and stitches close up. Can't see stitch definition on the printout.

Can the panels be worked later directly onto the lights part ? Instead of stand alone needing sewing .
My Jade ones are a lot bigger but have the same number of stitches and used the same hook and everything. Should I just start over?
