Good Vibrations from Central Park aired on ABC on Thursday, Aug 19, 1971. Concert was part of the Shaefer Music Festival.
The Ike and Tina Turner Revue, The Beach Boys, Carly Simon, Boz Scaggs and Kate Taylor were all part of this concert.

Look I know times flies by and the past is over...but I can't believe this is over 50 years old.
The good old days. I remember and miss them. The music eas amazing.
Awwww, those were the "Good Old Days" I wanna go back to the 70's. Now.
I moved to Fort Lauderdale when I was 25 yrs. from my home of NJ. We rented an apt. on Sunrise Blvd. and all of a sudden a ton of kids my age were moving in like crazy from all over the country and we all shared a balcony and all lived next door to each other. This was 1977/1978. I was taking down the big palm branches which had served as a Christmas tree for about 12 of us. One morning before work I was dragging them down to throw away and my friend Elaine was home and took a pic of me throwing it over the balcony. It was SO much fun! I knew this was a Very special time that I would Never forget! From inside apt. Elaine had the radio on really loud & Carly Simon came on w/her song "Anticipation". At the end were the words "we'll stay right here "CUZ THESE ARE THE GOOD OLD DAYS!" i GOT CHILLS AND KNEW FOR SURE I'D REMEMBER THAT EXACT TIME AS THE BEST I WOULD EVER HAVE!! I WAS RIGHT. I JUST FELT IT! If I ever heard that again in my lifetime i KNEW I would ALWAYS remember that exact moment during those two VERY SPECIAL years. AND to this Very day (I"M 70 now) I remember that exact moment of my life to Always be THE GOOD OLD DAYS!!!! SO SO SPECIAL!!! So thankful to have lived there in those times with the most amazing, FUNNIEST people!

Amazing talent. She was the absolute total package! Wrote her own songs, performed her own songs, played multiple instruments including this fabulous Guild 12-string guitar. It just doesn't get any better than this? Not to mention the fact that she was stunningly beautiful and a great personality.

I was 19 years old in 1971 and I'm so glad I grew up listening to really great artists like Carly. She just nailed!
I was 7 when I first heard this song on the radio and my Mom singing with the radio. Memories awesome.
Bass player flubbed a couple of notes. Who cares. Live and very rare to hear a flat note or mistake.
Ah the good old days. I always loved Carly. Great song writer and performer as well. Carole King was great too, but somehow, Carly had something extra.
There are so few recording artists that sound as great live as they do in a recording session. Carly is one of the best.

One of Carly Simon's great songs. When I first heard it - in 1971 - I thought it must be an old standard. Amazing lyrics for a 25 year old ! ( I am 6 months younger than her ). It took me a few decades to appreciate the insights in those early 70's poems.

Those guys whistling at her when she walked on stage know a beautiful woman when they see one.
Her music got me through those teen years, and listening to each one takes me right back. I vividly remember listening to her albums in my bedroom on my record player. When her No Secrets album came out, we were so scandalized by her picture on the front braless, but in a good way! We thought she was so cool, and she was!! She still is, and always will be. I love you Carly!! ❤
She is fantastic. I've seen her in concert when I was about 11 with my sister who was 17 and vans full of friends. At Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh. That's when I was hooked on concerts of mass amounts of people who all got along even many many giant rock concerts thru the 70s early 80s. We were so lucky to have grown up with the best music ever. Peace

I’m 71 years-old and still go to concerts. I don’t even take my phone with me. I’m there to see the artist and hear their music. I don’t care who knows I’m there or not. I go to the concert for ME!
It's miserable going to a show, any show and seeing people phones up, looking at there screen to make sure they're getting everything.

Me too. I'm 69 and going to Rifflandia in Victoria next month. No scrolling for me. Would have loved to see Carly Simon in concert. Gorgeous voice and great talent.
She is one of the best musicians of all time. I am glad I was raised during this time.

You said it ! I miss those sacred beautiful days. Nothing can compare. I still think it could be a bad dream and that I am about to wake up. The art of music in this era....there simply is no comparison or ever will be.

She suffered from crowd anxiety! Yet she was flawless. She is Beautiful and so talented! Thanks Helen for buying me this Album for Christmas way back when!

There's a video out there of Leo Kottke doing a seventies song called "Rings" (one of the relatively few songs on which he sings as well as plays), and he accidentally mixes verse two in with verse one; just smiles and keeps on going!

Celebrating her golden anniversary for not just Anticipation in November, but her debut album too, "Carly Simon". I love these live versions. Carly is all legs in that gorgeous 5'10" frame!
As a young man, I could listen to Carly without seeing her and be enthralled. I could also look at her without hearing her and be enthralled. Combining them both was the ultimate. I would say she's one of god's most blessed, which is what makes her our blessing....

... I miss these "good old days" for sure! In '72 I was a young teen and already a dedicated Carly fan. I watched her career rise like a shining star--with every song, every album. She's always been one of the very best in my opinion.

This is a song that has really grown on me, over the years. When I was younger, my favorite line was the chorus, "Anticipation", but now, the first verse resonates with me so much.

Fantastic! I have had a life long crush on Carly Simon. At 62, I'm not giving up yet on taking her out to dinner for a respectable date. I LOVE how the audiences back then were so respectful and into the performance. No smart phones taking videos at all. In many ways those were really the good old days....but today is a great time to be alive too.
Love to see her enjoy herself and her smile ... that smile is beautiful, she's beautiful human with a warm soul. Oh! what soul.
