Hey Josh, I have a question about slow eccentrics. And I'm asking because I respect your opinion, not because I think I know better than you. I have heard from other sources (notably Eric Helms) that slow eccentrics are not a useful training method, mostly because it will limit the volume that can be done an also doesn't actually overload the eccentric (as weight releasers or similar methods would). What is your rationale for using slow eccentrics?
It does but not to the same extent the primary reason is the prolonged time under tension more than anything without having to lower the weight much..........................it may limit the volume done in a sets and reps calculation but certainly not in a TUT Way. The other HUGE one is it helps develop a mind muscle connection. So basically on say a compound pressing movement you can intend muscle on the way down, explode and intend movement on the way up.......and get more muscle on the way up while extending TUT The two primaries are time and enhanced Mind Muscle Connection from a pure eccentric overload standpoint obviously weight releasers would be better and fast eccentrics would cause the most muscle damage (if you bench pressed really heavy over your max) lowered it fast and caught it one inch off the chest----that would cause some serious muscle damage. Not practical and everything is on the risk to benefit continuum
Just starting my off season training as well. You're the man Josh, love your multifaceted approach to reaching goals.
Thanks James
I retired from male review calls 6 years ago haha

Thanks and yes I do!!!
Hey Josh, are you getting in on the Dom vs Rob? Onion vs Scissors? Money on the line$$$
We should get one of the Tijuana Casinos to get a line going or something off-shore that'd be fun :)
Do you prefer dumbbell row over bent over row for back hypertrofy? Just like Charlie Poliquin does?
I like both! But for our upper back work I would like dbell slightly better so the lower back does not limit/fatigue
Thought I had a good workout. I guess not. I suck. Back to the drawing board.
Anyone know where I can get that shirt he's wearing at ?
DO not, he will see this I am sure

Also look up Charles Poliquin he has more written on them than I would
