In block periodization, should the transition from block to block be more smooth or sudden? Say I did hypertrophy work for 5 weeks, using a lot of volume with 70%. Should I gradually move towards 80-85%, perhaps by waving the weights from session to session, or is it better to take a big jump?
Gradual transitions are better.
