The HP laptop tells automatically after POST if the battery is dead or nearly dead and makes you press a key to continue. If you are lucky you get this message or a ballooned battery while still in warranty. ❤
This one was obvious to me since it happened with a phone. Though with the phone, by the time I took it for a battery replacement, it died on the charger (which initially it only stayed on when it was on external power), showed 0% unplugged and 100% on charge, and boot looping when plugged in and attempting to turn it on. Also to those who are going to reply buy a new battery and replace it yourself. 1) it's really difficult to get loose batteries delivered to the average person in Hawaii since parcels are normally flown in and 2) the back of the phone needs to get taken off and I don't have the tool for that (the phone "cooker" that melts the seal adhesive). This is why I need to go to a repair place and pay to get it replaced. I feel like it's going to be the same if we were to try and replace any laptop battery. I remember Battery Bill's (a local place that sells batteries) had a hard time getting a replacement battery for my mom's laptop (a model of HP from a Compaq initially [Sent in a Compaq and replaced it with an HP]). IIRC the laptop that needed the replacement battery was the Compaq.
To be fair to him, it could of been a short somewhere between the battery connection and power that was causing the battery to not be found when the laptop was unplugged...... OK, that was just bullshit, it's the battery!!
Turn into balloons just after warranty us over. Means free laptops for IT department guys. 80 bucks for an aftermarket battery and you got a 25 month old laptop for nothing.
I feel sorry for customers that have to get someone to do this VERY simple fix and pay around an extra 60 bucks for it. a $40 repair for about $100? or even more?
Usually its HWINFO , the one with blue background and white stripes as its logo Usually it'll have it monitor your HDD/SSD's health life and percentage via S.M.A.R.T and of course Battery Percentage and the Wear Level aside from that, i've no idea what else it can monitor a PC's components 👍👍
@@electronate8920The cpu and gpu can’t be monitored for ware by software because they don’t have mechanical parts. You can only check the outside of them for physical damage.
Bro. It's just a battery swap. The customer should've done it themselves. We don't need repair shops for this, anyone who can't figure out how to change their battery doesn't need to be on the internet unsupervised in the first place as they're clearly a child, or have the mind of a child.
Also this opinion is kind of ignorant of how hard it is for the normal consumer to get a loose rechargeable battery for a laptop or phone (especially the bigger capacity it is), a majority of the time (at least for me since it needs to be flown on a plane) it either can't be delivered or it has to be delivered by very slow boat. It may be easy for those who live near a seller that can easily get a battery delivered (if it's made in the US) snail mail delivered by land. In the case of a user getting a replacement, location matters if it can easily be delivered by land (delivery truck) mail, yes absolutely, but if you live somewhere that a battery needs to either shipped in by boat or plane it's close to impossible, unless it's in a device already.

This is diagnostic software built into the bios/hardware itself. It bypasses CPU/GPU and RAM so no ability to run fancy graphics

That's such a common issue on HP laptops even the more expansive ones it's just ridiculous
