    That's the whole point. The metaphore here is a raceway as opposed to a city street as opposed to Dreamhack's internet system as opposed to your homes. Obviously: there's certain things you can't compare, streets need to be replaced, it's illegal to race on the street as opposed to using your internet at home. But the idea is that people would want to go to a huge festival, hang out with people who share their passions, and can sit around and talk all day: Like a race track

    Do you believe in antivirus? Im not saying that it dont do its work, but actually when people buy one they are buying which fools the user best. Many big antivirus wont detect some viruses.

    I live in sweden and the most common connection that ppl have is 24/1 mbps or 24/8 mbps thrue cable or adsl. However, here i live (in this city) is it able to get 100/10 mbps or 100/100 mbps thrue fiber.

    It's nice to live in Sweden, I'm happy with my 115mbit connection. I feel bad for US and other countries where they dont focus on building the infrastructure of the future.
    Is it true that you can only have like 5-10mbit in most households in the US and other european country? Or is it even lower then that?

  • @Persekarva
    @Persekarva 16 лет назад

    Actually, a bit is 1/8 byte. So 40 Gbit = 5 GB/s. But the fastest hard drives support a maximum transfer speed of 300 Mbit/s = 37,5 MB/s.

    Of course there isn't. It's a ROUTER. It provides 40Gbps bandwidth split between every user at Dreamhack. For example, 2500 simualtaneous clients would each get around 2MB/sec.
    Google search for: 40gigabit/sec in KBps
    and you'll see. Divide that by amount of users for KBps.

    @EXetoC Actually it does matter, with a 1mb connection you have about 200 ms in wow, as I said I have about 21 ms, think of interrupting a lock casting fear or something similar, the fear cast is like 1 sec, 200 ms makes it 20% harder to interrupt... so ye it kind of does matter, besides the faster your connection is the more stable it is, no lagspikes etc.

Im surprised that yall have such a low bandwidth over there, well nvm yall are not connected directly so that must explain the speed cause your not land lined with the servers your probably viewing and/or downloading from.
