    You are 100% correct young lady. I don't know your age, but you are repeating what is written in Scripture. Do not let some lead you astray. Do not listen to someone and take their word for it. The enemy knows Scripture more than we do and will try to deceive us. Stay in the path and keep being sensitive to Him. If you aren't sure of something, don't do it until you can find support for it in the Word. If you can't just leave it behind. May G-D bless you and keep you in grace through our Master and Savior Jesus Christ, to His glory. Amen.

    This message is really convicting me. I’ve been a believer for a while but I almost completely fell away away and lost my faith due to some doubts that I had about God and the Bible. In that period Tat I sort of fell away I was still listening to Christian influencers (in an effort to not completely loose my faith). This made me start to make room for certain sin that I a believer really should not.
    Secular music is a big one. I had completely cut out secular music when I was at the strongest point in my faith but seeing so many other believers my age still listening to it made me wonder if I was wrong about secular music. I started to listen to more secular music and now even though I’m starting to get my faith in Jesus back, it’s a struggle to cut out secular music out completely for me.

    • @yaddiee233

      THIS! There are a lot of Christians who listen to secular music. I used to be one of them! But that doesn't make it okay. Secular music doesn't bring glory to God so therefore it is unwise to listen to secular music. That's why we need to test things. Just because a believer we know and love is doing something, doesn't mean we need to do the same thing.
      I'm so glad you're starting to get your faith back in Jesus. I also understand how difficult it is to cut out secular music completely. So many songs are catchy and upbeat. I encourage you to bring this struggle before the Lord and ask Him to change your desires. There are a ton of songs out there that are godly. Not just worship songs, but jazz, r&b, hip hop, and pop.
      I pray that as you draw closer to Christ, you'll begin to see Jesus more clearly and the truth of His word! God bless 🤍

      What has helped me is listening to Christian music in genres that I love? There is Christian pop, Christian rnb, Christian rap, Christian country, Christian rock even. Nowadays there is Christian afropop too. And the classic hymns and praise and worship gospel sounds too. With all this variety I don't listen to secular music at all anymore. Only time I ever hear it is in shopping centers or in public transport. And I really try to go around with my airpods so I can listen to my own music because secular music just sounds so vulgar and abrasive to me now. God really renews you and changes you for the better when you invite him into the situation and work with His sufficient grace. Keep striving!! God’s got youu❤❤

      I think podcasts have their place, but you have to be VERY selective and it doesn’t take the place of reading your Bible and praying and even fellowshipping with other believers. And if you're a Christian and you're not even reading the bible, you shouldn't be listening to podcasts.
      And I find it very strange why influencers record themselves praying… When you know someone is watching you, obviously you act a certain way. And praying is a conversation between you and God, why do you have to record yourself doing that? You can give tips on how people can pray, but recording yourself doesn’t make any sense to me 🤷🏾‍♀️

Vision boards usually involve manifesting. You should commit those aspirations to God through prayer. It’s also important to remember that our ultimate goal in life should be to live the life God wants us to live.

    If anyone sees my comment I want you to know that you shouldn’t worry about who is or who is not a Christian and instead focus on your own personal relationship with Jesus. I do agree with this lady that there are people who claim to be Christian, and do not exhibit fruit of the Holy Spirit often. However I do feel like it is not our job to figure out who is and who is not and pick apart the ones we “think” are not. I do not think it is our job to call out these people publicly or try to shame these individuals because we are not to judge. Instead like the young lady said, you should pray for those you feel are doing questionable things. Ask God to help you test the spirit, and check your own heart and what you may or may not be doing. Matthew 7:1 Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. I feel as if this young lady is more concerned with others walks and journeys than her own. My recommendation is if you are seeing things you don’t necessarily agree with, you can model different behaviors yourself and hopefully people will see your light instead of calling them out telling them what they are doing wrong. ❤

    • @yaddiee233
      @yaddiee233  6 месяцев назад +19

      Hi! I appreciate your comment!
      No one should be worrying about whether someone is a Christian or not. Jesus has told us that there is no point in worrying.
      As followers of Him, ESPECIALLY in this digital age, we need to make sure that we're not deceived. What we listen to and who we listen to, what we follow and who we follow ABSOLUTELY affects our own personal relationship with Jesus. That's the whole point of this video. I'm not telling people we need to figure out who is saved or not, I'm encouraging people to be careful with following and supporting the people who claim to be Christians because they might not actually be saved. And if they are saved, sometimes the things they do or say is not wise and we shouldn't be quick to support those things and imitate them. If we aren''t in the word ourselves, how will we know what is of God and what isn't? After all, don't we want to be more like Jesus and grow closer to Him?
      You're correct. It's not our job to call people out publicly and try to shame them, but we have every right to judge according to John 7:24, which says "Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.” Despite your feelings about me, this video is meant to remind us believers to be careful that we are not deceived in this journey with Christ. God bless! 🤍

    • @KimberWaul
      @KimberWaul 6 месяцев назад +3

      I think many people do not understand how impactful influence and associations are, or else we wouldn't make statements like these. Christian influencers literally try to "influence" thoughts and lifestyles. One who is truly after God will let his/her light shine so that the world will see and glorify our Father who is in heaven. One who is not submitted to God, may preach "another gospel" as the Word of God says or promote himself/herself and listening to that over time will influence your walk with God.
      After all, the Bible shows the principle that faith/ beliefs/ convictions come by hearing. If you keep hearing the Word of God and seeing someone pattern Christ, you will have true Christian influence, but when "self" and "worldliness" are promoted, the listener begins to transform into a more carnal kind of person, because another biblical principle is that the things which enter our minds cause transformation, which may be good or bad. As Christians, we are called to transform by the renewing of our minds according to God's Word and not conform to worldly or carnal patterns.
      Please also understand the different contexts that the word "judgment" is used in. In some contexts, it simply refers to a decision made from an analysis; in other words, testing every spirit and deciding whether or not to follow, accept or agree. We all make judgments, therefore. So, the Bible tells us to judge righteously.

    • @KimberWaul
      @KimberWaul 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@Cherished.Beloved I agree. But on some levels, they are teachers, whether they realize it or not. 😅 As a matter of fact, on some levels, we all are. In Matthew 19 and 20, Jesus told His disciples to go in all the world, preach the Gospel, baptize people in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and teach people to obey everything He's taught and make disciples. It is what we take to be the "Great Commission" and a mandate that each able believer has. We, as followers of Christ, especially ones with platforms, do that through our words and overall lifestyles. There are some who will even try to teach people "theology", which some of it doesn't align with scripture and that needs to be corrected. So, while they don't formally occupy the office of a teacher in a church, school or ministry, they do play the role of teachers.

    Excellent video and message for Christians. @12:55 you are exactly right about testing the pastors as well. They're not supposed to behave like the world to reach the world. Nonbelievers don't respect that. And a pastor is to feed the sheep/the saved, not the lost. I don't give those pastors a pass. They're leading many astray and God will judge them harshly. Great video! I feel like this is not talked about enough. While watching this I was reminded of when Ezra realized that the Jews were marrying people that God told them not to (since the days He commanded them not to, pretty much!) and he weeped and asked Him for forgiveness. We shouldn’t excuse any sin no matter how “big or small” it may seem. But we should also have forgiveness and grace towards people who do struggle with sin, whether they know it or not, and pray for them like you said. I see many people in my generation who go to church and claim to be Christian but they don’t even realize how worldly they are living (if I worded that right lol). They cuss, gossip, talk about manifestation, and consider certain lifestyles that are not of God as completely fine ones. Social media has truly brainwashed people and it’s just so heartbreaking for me to witness sometimes. Sometimes an acquaintance who I know is Christian and I will be having a conversation and they might be going through something and feel so stuck and down, and I wonder, do they go to God about these things? Sometimes I try to mention God and how He can help them but I feel that those comments go mostly unnoticed. I’ve been asking God to give me more boldness when it comes to talking about Him. I’ve only been with Him for 8-9 months, I’m not sure if that’s a long period of time or if I’m still considered a newer Christian, but either way I feel like I should be growing and maturing more spiritually. When it comes to the topic of Christian influencers I think I am pretty good at discerning who is really walking with Him and turning away from worldly things, but I am still learning different things about God every day! A video like this is very helpful for both new and long-time believers alike. :))

    I understand what you're saying and I support what this video is about. This is something that definitely needs to be said because there are a lot of lukewarm people around who are taking the Lord’s name in vain by misrepresenting Him. Bearing Christian but misrepresenting Christ is in a way taking God’s name in vain. In my opinion. But this isn't explicitly said in the Bible, its an interpretation of the word of God that I believe comes from the Holy Spirit’s inspiration.
    Which is why I want to add that it is very important to properly interpret the Bible in terms of its context and how it applied then and how it applies now, contextually.
    We need to beware extremes and writing off some things because of how unbelievers have abused it.
    For example, a vision board in a sense is biblical. Keeping a prayer journal, a prayer board, having a physical representation of the things God has revealed to you or the things you're asking God for and knowing it is from Him and not in your power to make it materialise has a biblical basis.
    Habbakuk talks about making the vision plain, in Deuteronomy Moses remind the people to not forget what God has done, in Isaiah we are told to not look back but forward to the new things God is doing. Gratitude journaling--God says in all things we should give thanks.
    In John, we are told that the devil is a thief and a liar and a destroyer. Whereas Jesus comes to give us life in the fullest. In Genesis we are given dominion over the earth. And Jesus teaches us to be stewards of our talents and the resources He has given us. Paul says, I am all things to all people for the sake of winning souls.
    Therefore, I believe we should not let the devil lie and steal good things that we have dominion over by God. Unless truly it is unbiblical like witchcraft, astrology, idolatry, homosexual acts, and things that are disobedience to God and sin, that we absolutely should not be partaking in, we should really be careful of going to extremes.
    I also keep in mind that had Jesus been extreme he never would have associated with the people he did. When it comes to not leading people astray I completely agree with you. The Bible says its better to be drowned than to lead God’s people astray or give wicked counsel. But I just have to note that our posture of heart should not be towards condemnation or judgment.
    Like you said, we should caution them and pray for them and by the life we lead show what true Christianity entails 🥰🙏🏾

      Amen!!!! Just to clarify though, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with making a collage of the things you like, your goals, dreams God has given you, and confirmations, etc. That’s actually such a wise thing to do and it’s amazing how God can begin to speak to you as you commit those things to Him. But the vision boards I mentioned in this video is what’s trending in our society right now, especially this year. If you search up what a vision board is online, it’ll tell you that it’s a collage that people put together so that they can manifest their dreams and goals. In fact many articles will show up telling you and instructing you on how to make vision boards that actually work!! And none of those articles talk about God or prayer! So those vision boards involve manifesting which is absolutely not of God. I probably should’ve clarified in the video, but thanks so much for your comment! God bless 🤍

    I have a question as I've been feeling some type of way over this for a while. I've been a dancer since i was a kid and i do mostly contemporary and hip hop dancing. I see dancing as a hobby and a recreational activity as its helped me a lot with relieving tension in my body and its been a great stress reliever. Yes, i do commit everything in Gods hands and i do pray over things that stress me out, but dancing has also been another positive addition to that, its also helped me lose over 50 pounds over the last few years to God be the glory. But what im getting at is, is it a bad thing? In the past, i would dance to music i liked, whether it was the beat or the lyrics, but as I've grown more with God, I've been convicted over a lot of music in my playlist that i never realized how much they glorified sin. I've deleted them, but ive also kept the music i dont feel convicted over and still dance to them. I've never danced provocatively or anything like that, I'm always in baggy, comfortable clothing when I dance but I just dont know. Could someone please let me know their take on this? I'm a shy person but one day I hope to create a social media account where i can talk about God and encourage people on their walk with God, but I also want to post dance videos, fashion content, makeup, school and many more. Would that make me lukewarm? I feel myself growing in Christ hence the conviction over the music, but i still dance to hiphop. I've also started dancing to more Christian hiphop.

    • @yaddiee233
      @yaddiee233  6 месяцев назад

      Hi!! So dancing is a wonderful thing! David danced before the Lord with all of his might!! I love to dance to, but I’m not that good haha. A scripture that helps me concerning anything that I am doing or thinking about doing is 1 Corinthians 10:31 “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” So we both know there are songs that are very inappropriate, but there are also songs that may described as motivating but when you actually look at the lyrics, it doesn’t align to God’s word. So I would say one would have to be very selective if they were to dance to a song that isn’t perhaps a “Christian song”. Not every song out there is bad. You could even hear the narrative, for example, between lovers in a song, as God’s love for us. And that’s amazing that you dance to Christian hip hop. There’s actually so many good songs out there that glorify God and fall under so many different genres. So personally, I wouldn’t see the point in dancing to a secular song anyway.
      And then concerning your desire to start posting on social media one day, I would just say commit it to the Lord! Sharing His word is amazing and you definitely want to be led by Him. And there’s nothing wrong with posting videos about fashion, makeup, school, etc. I wouldn’t say that would make you lukewarm. But, it’s imperative that you’re not idolizing any of these things and that you’re not idolizing yourself too. Our content should also bring glory to God, not to us. And even with those type of videos, it’s important to commit them to the Lord in prayer. The Lord may even tell you not to post certain videos and you may not understand why, but God's will is always better. Anyway, those are my thoughts! God bless 🤍

But we live in a world where trying to be a Christian and remaining authentic sometimes don't go hand in hand because someone is always waiting for you to do what THEY deem un Christlike so that they condemn you. It's made me self conscious, but in all things we give God the glory. Thanks so much for your input 😊

Also, another thing is being new or a baby Christian, it will take our lifetime and even then the bible tells us we wont truly be complete until Christ returns, so we will all struggle with our flesh as Christians, there should definitely be growth and maturity. But it doesn't happen over night. I remember i still did many worldly thing as a a new Christian because I had to mature and grown and the Holy Spirit allowed things to help build me up. So sometimes, its not that person isnt a christian they're just in a refining stage. Always call it out, when people say theyre a christian and they support or struggle with homosexuality, remind them of what the word of God says. Its the Holy Spirit that works through is and changes us.

      @yaddiee233  6 месяцев назад

      Amen!!! Absolutely. Our entire lives will involve the Lord pruning us as we are being transformed from glory to glory. There’s always room for us to grow and mature more in Christ. And I agree, a person may be genuinely saved but still have bad habits or do fleshly things. But then there are people who aren’t saved, but may say they love God, yet they are living lives of sin. I guess that’s why it’s important to recognize there’s a difference between struggling with sin/bad habits and practicing sin/bad habits. Bottom line is, God can change any individual to be more like Him no matter who they are what they’re doing. Many people do things because of ignorance too!

      Christian goal setting and New Age vision board making is as similar as night and day. Vision board setting is all about what you want, even manifesting and focusing on it without even consulting if it's the life God wants for you. Goal setting is okay if you leave it to God...what if He sees something that doesn't help you in the long run? Will He still be the kind, gracious and loving God you claim He is if He doesn't give what you want to you? By all means, set goals, make a collage of your dream bucket list, but don't think it will supercede God's will because even the Tower of Babel didn't materialize.

    • @yaddiee233

      Vision boards are created solely to manifest your dreams and make them reality. Manifesting is not of God. There’s nothing wrong with making a collage of the things you like or goals you have, but you should be committing them to the Lord in prayer, not manifesting them. You also shouldn’t idolize them and most importantly recognizing that God’s will for your life might not involve any of those dreams and desires of yours! That’s why our one desire should be to live the life God desires of us, hence the reason why you should commit these things to the Lord in prayer.

That’s actually such a great thing to do because it’s amazing how God can speak to you and direct your steps when you commit these things to Him. Definitely ask God to give you a voice to speak if he's leading you to intercede for someone, he'll let you know what to say. I do not exactly agree with everything she says, but this is why we have opinions! Sometimes as Christian we can come off more judgemental without righteous reasoning than we mean to be. This is such a great question. I only knew about him when he died but I did hear people mention that he was saved.
      Tbh I’m not sure. Someone can encounter Jesus, but not actually give their lives to Him to the point where they’re forsaking the world to follow Him. At the end of the day, the Lord knows the heart of every individual and Romans 9 mentions how He’ll show mercy to whom He shows mercy to.
      I think it’s amazing if He did do bible studies and go out and preach the word, but one cannot live a double life. And the things they produce, such as music, cannot be ignored especially if it’s ungodly. But yeah, God only knows.
      What are your thoughts?

      @yaddiee233 I agree. As stated I know people who know him and met him and he was knee deep for Christ. Problem is that he was making music that the studios forced him to make per his contract. The studios tell the artist what music to make and they must and will abide by those terms. People have pointed to his music as it has vulguar language like the B word N word, drugs sex girls bouncing their behinds. So people have called that out when he died about his songs. But again he was making songs that he was told to make which he could have said no to but didn't. I believe he's in heaven but i don't believe that he will get a crown. The Bible speaks of diffrent levels of heaven, I don't believe he will be on the 1st level with God

      Personally, I believe that a Christian shouldn’t listen to Kpop because the majority of their songs don’t glorify God. Sometimes it may seem motivating and uplifting, but when you actually align the lyrics to the word of God, it’s evident that it’s promoting a lifestyle that promotes the flesh and pride. And yes the beats and lyrics may be catchy, but there are other songs out there that do glorify God. Not just worship songs but other songs like jazz, pop, hip hop, r&b. I’ve made a few videos about Kpop where I talk deeper about it.

      If you search up what a vision board is, Wikipedia will tell you that it "is a collage of images, pictures, and affirmations of one's dreams and desires, designed to serve as a source of inspiration and motivation." Many of the articles that pop up will also tell you "how you can make a vision board that actually works." When reading these articles, it mentions how you can manifest the things on your vision board; make your dreams become a reality. Manifestation is associated with New Age. They also shouldn't obsess or idolize these goals. These goals also should align to the will of God, not just your fleshly appetites and desires.
      Discerning between good and evil doesn't come automatically. One has to learn how to discern. And just because you have a spirit of discernment doesn't mean you will always discern properly. 1 Corinthians 10:12 says, "Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall." There are many new believers who are so hungry for God but they're not spiritually mature just as of yet. During that season in their life, they must be extra careful with the content they're listening to and the people they support and follow, because those things may not actually be godly and that person may not actually be saved. Matthew 7:1 is a scripture that is often taken out of context. John 7:24 says, "Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.” Jesus expects us to judge others, but we must do it with righteousness.
      You are absolutely right. When God calls people to serve Him, He is still doing a work. I am not discrediting the work God is doing in individuals lives. I did not say that every influencer who is not yet spiritually mature is not called. Of course we are all a walking process. HOWEVER, you cannot use that as an excuse for ungodliness. Sin is still sin and ungodliness is still ungodliness. A new believer may still have a habit of smoking. That doesn't mean they are not saved, but the act of smoking is a sin and it is ungodly. We all have struggles, but we need to be very selective with the content we let into our minds, hearts, and the things we follow. If we aren't in the word of God, we won't be able to discern properly.

      Those are such powerful scriptures. There is unrighteous judgement, such as self-righteous judgment, unforgiving judgment and even hypocritical judgment. But acknowledging sin for what it is and carnal behaviour for what it is is imperative. The idea of discerning what you listen to and support online is so we don't fall into deception as followers of Jesus. It's not about pointing out someone's faults, wrongdoings, and errors. It doesn't matter what stage you are in your walk with Christ, there's always room for growth and maturity. BUT sin is still sin and carnality is still carnality.
      It would be inappropriate for us to point out other's wrongdoings when we ourselves aren't even assessing the way we're living too. 1 Corinthians 11 instructs us to judge ourselves. But if we are choosing to follow people online, support the things they do, we must be very careful. Bottomline is, as we grow more in the word and spend quality time with Jesus, He will continue to show us how we need to live our lives. He will instruct us on how we can be discerning of the things we're choosing to let into our minds and hearts. Above all, we need to be compassionate and pray for the individuals who fall short. Although we are his CREATION, CHRISTIANITY does not worship human beings. matthew 18:21-22 "Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?" Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times." Gods Mercy is boundless, his forgiveness is boundless. Repent with your heart and you will be forgiven.
