Can't believe this piece was in my feed following the wake of a friend. He was a 44 year old Assistant Chief and Instructor who lost his life. While I taught with him as a colleague, he taught me every class. God Bless Chief Post.
Nearly a decade ago, a man's fantasy became a reality in a forum never seen before: Kitchen Stadium, a giant cooking arena. The motivation for spending his fortune to create Kitchen Stadium was to encounter new original cuisines which could be called true artistic creations. To realize his dream, he secretly started choosing the top chefs of various styles of cooking, and he named his men the Iron Chefs: the invincible men of culinary skills. Iron Chef Japanese is Rokusabaru Michiba/Komei Nakamura/Masaharu Morimoto. Iron Chef French is Hiroyuki Sakai. Iron Chef Chinese is Chen Kenichi. And Masahiko Kobe is Iron Chef Italian. Kitchen Stadium is the arena where Iron Chefs await the challenges of master chefs from around the world. Both the Iron Chef and challenger have one hour to tackle the theme ingredient of the day. Using all their senses, skill, creativity, they are to prepare artistic dishes never tasted before. And if ever a challenger wins over the Iron Chef, he or she will gain the people's ovation and fame forever. Every battle, reputations are on the line in Kitchen Stadium, where master chefs pit their artistic creations against each other. What inspiration does today's challenger bring? And how will the Iron Chef fight back? The heat will be on!

Gets me every time I hear this tune it’s like a fireman anthem and always makes me well up thinking of all those firefighters going to the towers RIP beautiful tune so powerful
As a former Firefighter the inspiration from this sound came back full as I remember the last few minutes of fellow F/F's heading toward the unknown at the end of the movie...in Chicago. Wonderful, emotion.
It shows genuine class on the part of conductor Diego Navarro when at the end he doesn't turn and take a bow. Instead, with a sweeping gesture of his arms, he redirects the applause and accolades coming from the audience to the players in his orchestra.
I was a Firefighter back in the 70's and this reminder of the movie was a wonderful reminder of the millions of F/F around the World who face things most people will never see, or understand.
Had One truly scary Backdraft when I was working. You never forget it.
The videos of backdrafts & BLEVES I've seen are very scary.

Well done. Former Firefighter for 14 years thank you. Crew up in fire house when Backdraft the movie strart i were 8 years old. My motivation along Ladder 49. My dad still firefighter for 42 years. Salute
if your a fireman, this is a very recognizable piece. There are many elements that equate to the emotions of moving into a building on fire, pride, bravery, courage, solemnity at times, uncertainty, fear, triumph, order, confusion.....it sums it up!
What a rousing piece. This honours those anywhere who sacrificed their life for another.
This score is one of the most powerful one !

This made the last shot of Backdraft beyond epic. The fact that the ending is a fusion of the two main themes completely blew my mind.

I remember whilst @ university back in England, a friend mentioned the movie to me. I watched it in 1994, and was amazed by the movie, great music score; director and cast. Epic movie.
I know this masterpiece is from Backdraft. But i must always thinking about Chicago Fire too. Gives me goosebumps every time.

A backdraft is a dramatic event caused by a fire, resulting from rapid re-introduction of oxygen to combustion in an oxygen-depleted environment; for example, the breaking of a window or opening of a door to an enclosed space. Backdrafts present a serious threat to firefighters.

I have a list of my favourite films. Some are films which touch every emotion with story, image, acting, cinematography, direction v and music, not forgetting the unsung heroes of special effects and stunt performers. Backdraft is such a film. I have been reminded why if should be on my list. Until today, it wasn’t. It is now!

The kind a movie you remember for its OST more than the actual movie not saying the movie was not memorable its in my collection. But the OST is fantastic. Also thjis rendition is extremely accurate in fact most of these rendition are.
This music and A Call to Courage from Ladder 49 should be used in dedication to our firefighters who put their lives on the line every day.

Its from he movie Backdraft which is about firefighters.
Sylvie Munro, Backdraft is a great movie that was made in 1991. It was about 2 brothers were in the same company with Chicago FD but never got along. They had to set their personal differences aside to catch a major arsonist on the loose and hold off all the fires. I know people in this line of work. Both firefighters and EMT's. The actual soundtrack version is one of my all time favorite songs. By Hans Zimmer, it is called Show Me Your Firetruck. It is played in the end of the movie. People in this line of work deserve the respect and appreciation I show for veterans and active soldiers. I have tons of respect for them as well as EMT's and firefighters. The reason they call the movie Backdraft is cause when the arsonist set the fires, it always caused a backdraft. Many firefighters have got caught in these and it is one of their largest dangers when going in the buildings and many have gave their lives. The age of the movie goes a ways back but that doesn't matter. It is a movie worth buying for sure.

Here in the Philippines, firefighters from Bureau of Fire Protection and the Volunteers who bravely go and put out face to face with lack of ancillaries like PPAs, and breathing apparatus. Despite this, they did the job with witty attitude. One firefighter from California who is in Tacloban for Typhoon Haiyan relief worker, hailed our firefighters with just only shorts, shirts and sandals(flipflops) on the scene dragging a hose.
