Stereo-typically I don't see many people's homes (who teach English) being that large in Asia regardless of country (with the exception of a very small number of English teachers in China). Now, I ain't got no typa no problems with a nice little studio or one bedroom they all look nice, but my question is can we get that apartment tour sometime?! Because when you opened them curtains for your windows I was like "What in the Mcmansion?!? Shawty living in the same crib Drake did in that I'm on one video." Glad it was helpful! This was a few years ago so I honestly don't remember the times frames but I want to say a few weeks later they emailed me once a school was interested and wanted me to sign on. I don't remember any follow ups from the interview though. They just emailed me once a school was interested.

I have a substitute teaching license. I can look into making a video but in the meantime I'd recommend searching "application for substitute teaching license in (insert your state)". The process will be different for everyone because it's dependent on your state. Hope this helps. 🙂

Hi I'm glad they've been helpful! Unfortunately, I don't remember. I'd recommend choosing one that'll best fit you. The license is valid 5 years so if you want to possibly teach multiple subjects that could be a good choice. I hope that helps!

I'm confused about the native speaker part. So I was born and raised in Germany but my dad is from the UK and before moving I'm gonna get a uk passport. Do u think that'll count lol?
I'm not sure but I believe if you have a UK passport then it would count as native English speaker. I'd double check with the recruiter/schools you're interested in though.
Just don't say you're German. Tell them you're a British national plain and simple and don't try to over complicate it. If you have German schooling papers, and they enquire about that those, just say you spent some time there as a kid. Don't go too far though and say you aren't German though. A lie by omission isn't that serious but actually lying is. As you're Passport does list where you were born. I had to use similar tactic as I'm Quebecois, and many schools in Asia explicitly state they aren't looking for us if we don't have 20 years of teaching experience under our belt. So I kept that hidden.

Bachelors can be in any field. There are different universities that you can get a teaching license from. I'm not familiar with the SACE certification.

Even though I’m not a native English speaker, I’ve lived in London since the age of 10 and can speak English fluently. I wouldn’t mind teaching English in Bangladesh. Is there a high demand for learning English in Bangladesh? Do you think I could easily find a job teaching over there? I just go to the tax office and give them my ARC. They will do everything from there and your return will be direct deposited to your bank account. 🙂

A Tefl certificate isn't sufficient for the public school/ program I went through. They never asked me for one.

Hi, I'm in Hsinchu city. I went through Teach Taiwan & class sizes are 24-26 students. I'm not sure but I don't remember doing a demo.

In your experience, could I find a job as a native English speaker (USA) with 4+ years experience in a public school, but without the teaching certification? Is the substitute certification okay?

What agency did you go through? I am in my last semester of college about to graduate with a BS. Ed in TESOL and Taiwan is my top choice for jobs!

When you said you need a teaching license, does that mean a bachelors degree and a tefla certificate won’t be sufficient to apply for that school you worked at ?
Hello, a TEFL wasn't needed/ requested for teaching in the public school. They required a bachelors degree and teaching license at the time!
